Pretend you didn't read the headline and have no idea of the meme of this post.
Now listen to these words:
...but the Democrats haven't made a move worth mentioning. On the contrary, they continue to agree to the spending of tens of billions to continue the killing and war there."
Who would you imagine said them?
Perhaps Cindy Sheehan? How about Markos Moulitsas at Daily Kos? Maybe even Duncan Black or Ted Rall?
No, they were spoken by Osama bin Laden, the man who orchestrated the deaths of 3,000 and now calls for even more.
It's a sad place to be when your words sound exactly like the greatest enemy America has had in decades. This puts the Democrats in an even more precarious position, they must appease their base as I've mentioned before, in which case they will appease bin Laden or they have to allow the president to finish this war and take out al-Qaida and their various cells. I'm predicting they go the latter route or risk having themselves branded Osama's enablers.
Osama needs a base and Iraq would suit his purpose, if we leave now, he'll move in in rapid fashion. It's interesting that by coming out with his video at this time, he may have hamstrung the very party he criticizes. I guess he felt that he had some kind of understanding with them.
But wait, it gets even better:
"the reeling of many of you under the burden of interest-related debts, insane taxes and real estate mortgages; global warming and its woes..."
"You have destroyed nature with your industrial waste and gases, more than any other country. Despite this, you refuse to sign the Kyoto agreement so that you can secure the profit of your greedy companies and industries."
And he praises Noam Chomsky. Osama is a green, liberal and a Democrat. Who knew? Transcript here. HT: AP
Update (1718): The lib responses are being written and they range from the old "Iraq took away from the real war in Afghanistan" canard to actually saying we ignore bin-Laden (that's liberalism in a microcosm, if bad news arises, ignore it). There is an overall lack of posting by the normally post-happy left. I wonder why that is.
You can view a snippet of the video here. I tried to embed it but Live Leak is a bit quirky with embeds.
More updates on what others are saying on the right: Ezra Klein recommends a bin-Laden Ron Paul ticket...Ouch. Maybe we should just talk with the man for Christ's Allah's sake? The libs are still strangely silent. I guess that happens when a mass murderer spouts the same things you do on a daily basis.

1. remind me again, why osama hasn't been caught dead or alive yet?
alexkreuz at 6:15PM on Sep 7th 2007
2. Well Alex, I would ask three people that question: Bill Clinton, Sandy Berger and any Marine that tried to track him in Waziristan.
Scott at 6:16PM on Sep 7th 2007
3. Osama did the same thing back in 04 -- he goaded the president on, and played to all of the fears and insecurities of the right. OBL has no better partner in the world than George W. Bush.
Where would he be if we actually had an adult in charge -- someone who would not have been deterred from the goal of finding OBL; someone who would not have supported torture in Abu Ghraib; someone who would not have held hundreds of prisoners without a trial and no justice even when they actually get a military hearing. George continues to play into the hands of OBL, and OBL plays him like a harp.

4. Osama could have been caught by now if we were occupying Iraq needlessly.

5. I'll be a liberal for a minute.
We'll never beat Islamo fascism with guns. We need to peel away their fanaticism at the edges and shrink them down to their core. And for those that give up their jihad, bring them into the tent somehow.

6. It is no real surprise that Osama would dwell on the politics of our news releases. This is what must be considered: Why is Iraq so important to the militant Islam nations? Are we exactly where we should be? He certainly wants use out of there and the reason is "Location, Location, Location." Pivot point of the Axis plus an important River. Esoteric reason? Perhaps but not to any that knows the Bible or the Koran very well. Time will prove why we must stay the course in Iraq. As for his terror ploys/plots, he has been in check for the last six years. Something the prior President could not/would not do. Setting powerless in some cave of hiding is better then wandering around striking as it pleased him.

7. Steve,
That sounds exactly like what we're doing with the surge in al-Anbar. Good point. But a lib wouldn't think that way, buddy.

8. Sure have read and seen a lot of commentary on this new commentary from Bin Laden. Would anyone mind actually posting a link to a transcript, at the very least. Because none of you have seen a complete version of it and neither have I. And yet all this commentary. Is his beard color really important to you? The three sites listed as transcripts were all taken down just now when I checked. Sure would be nice to be treated like big boys and girls and be able to read these things ourselves, in entirety and form our own adult opinions on what they say.

9. well if youre going to blame the marines who tracked him and not bush, then you should be fair and blame the cia agents under clinton, and not clinton .. you do know how to be fair right?

10. Liberals = believe in the constitution.
Consevatives= believe in the constitution.
Democratic Party = Patriotic(in their own way)
Republican Party = Patriotic(in their own way)
"Blue States" = U.S.A
"Red States" = U.S.A.
One thing more pathetic than Osama binLaden trying to divide the Citizens of this Nation by squirming his worm-like self into our national politics, is you falling for it hook, line and sinker.
I'm not looking to debate you, i'm certainly not looking to be the "lib" that shows you up or dresses you down. I am not, in fact, a "lib", or a "liberal" or a "Democrat".
I'm merely a fellow Citizen who happened upon your statement while searching for information on the afore mentioned disgusting mass-murder's video rant.
And, I have a question for you(and several of your other respondents, for, or anti-you [but mostly YOU])
Have you truly, TRULY become so lost in the ridiculous kabuki theater of "Left/Right", "Dem./GOP", "Blue/Red" politics, and so utterly lost sight of what links these "opposites" and seperates then from binLaden?
To the point where, just to pick one of the more loathesome portions of your article, you can smugly say: " Osama is a green, a liberal, and a Democrat. Who knew?" As if there were something funny, something clever, about your blind hate?
IF SO, then I, for one, don't believe it is going to far to say that YOU yourself share something in common with Osama binLaden:
You are both at War with the Idea that is the United States of America, the difference being he declares it openly, and you likely cannot admit it, even to yourself.
good night.
P.S. If you could manage to actually consider and look into yourself before you respond you might actually benefit. But such is YOUR choice it matters little for me.

11. The people attacked will look to God for an answer, an explaination, but to survive, every living thing must physically defend itself from attackers.
Our soldiers, operatives and weapons have murdered many millions of Arabs since 1948.
Only a million in 1991, and only a million since 2002.
Since 1948 the PEOPLE of the middle east, and the UN inspectors, and the eye witnesses have been telling you the Truth.
Will you be allowed to hear the truth while deregulated military contractors OWN your once free press, own your politicians, and OWN America ?
When did your Spin Doctors become your historians ?
How many more decades of lies and more decades of murdering innocent people will be required before Humanity becomes our friend ?
If America succeeds in eradicating Humanity and freedom from the earth then it will be left here surrounded by liars and murderers just like themselves.
A just reward.
BeyondBeliefs at 9:53AM on Sep 8th 2007
12. To BeyondBeliefs:"As for Ishmael----His hand shall be against all his brothers." Do you uphold the mass murders led by such as Osama? Does he not fit into the prophesy of decent? Does your form of freedom support the mass murders of people in Their own countries, the way of Saddam? Will God not consider such in regard to Rewards/Judgements? Perhaps you should look deeper into your own words for the answers to your own questions. Then check 'em with the ONE True God.

13. To Mark: Had trouble getting the transcript to come up also. Had to upgrade my Adobe Reader. Try that it worked on mine. Try 7.0

Which is why the Republicans wrote it that way before they gave the script to the actor.

15. You have to be a real lamebrain to either think that "Osama's" comments are real or that it isn't just some kind of Karl Rove dirty trick to make it look like Democrats = Osama.
Newsflash: I don't think most people blame Osama or Iraq on Clinton, either Bill or Hillary. Only the same 20-something percent of the populace who will support Bush to the "dead end".
To the Republicans who are so big on "personal responsibility": own up to the fact already that Bush is *your* Bozo and stop trying to deflect the blame.
