Mrs. Clinton promised to cover everyone without big new bureaucracies, without a complicated reorganization of one-seventh of the American economy and without affecting Americans who are insured and happy with their coverage--all features that helped doom the Clinton [Bill] administration's plan 14 years ago.Maybe. Hey, it's worth a look, anyway. You can read about the plan here. David Brooks, for one, is impressed with what he sees, stating:
"Hillary Clinton's health care plan is a huge step forward from 1993. It's better than the G.O.P. candidates' plans (which don't exist). But one person who is against the plan, even though he hasn't read it, is Mitt Romney. Watch as he stumbles through the following set piece yesterday. He cannot engage any of the specifics of the plan because he hasn't bothered to look at it. It's really a shameful display of how some politicians rely on buzzwords and tried and true talking points over substance.
Do most Americans really care whether their health care is administered by their state government as opposed to the federal one? And why should residents of Mississippi suffer while those in California enjoy universal care?

1. What am I missing here? Romney's position is unfetered...keep washington out of health care and do not raise taxes in support of a national health care system; he's right!
I did not think he stumbled at all.

2. I remember, not too long ago, being really excited that there were going to be three viable candidates for the Democratic primary this election season. I am a Democrat. I didn't see how a Republican would be able to pull of this election because of our present President.
Well, the suspense faded quickly and I realized that there really was only one viable Presidential candidate period. (Hillary Clinton) So, what promised to be an interesting election season, just wasn't going to happen. I am very satisfied with Hillary Clinton and I do happen to be among those that actually "like" her. So, the only interesting thing happening in the media is all the negativity against Hillary...from both parties.
Romney and Giuliani are hastily taking Edward's negative candidacy early and going after Hillary, when they probably should be more concerned about securing the Republican nomination first. I realize she has a strong personality, as do I, which leaves very few people ambivalent. They tend to "hate" her or "like" her, but they always have an opinion about her.
Romney should read her Health-Care plan, as it should look familiar to him. (As ABC news pointed out yesterday in its evening broadcast.)
In 2004, California had its longest ballot in something like 98 years and I only voted on four things. (Gone are the days where I choose names at random for such things as College Board etc.) I voted for stem cell research funding and reluctantly voted for Kerry and even more reluctantly voted for Edwards for VP. The fourth thing seemed so important at the time, but I couldn't tell you what it was to save my life. So, now the Republicans can feel what it was like to be a Democrat in 2004. We simply didn't like our choices. I don't think they particularly like theirs this time around. I enjoy good health-care here in California. I am very grateful and thankful for that.
Wishing everyone the best,
Mr. Clark

3. Mr Clark:
Would you mind providing me with a list of Hillary Clinton's accomplishments as First Lady and as a Senator? I cannot seem to find much of anything.

4. Take it from a New Yorker Rob...Hillary hasn't done anything for NY

5. IT'S A TRAP PERIOD.The BEAST OF TAXES is in waiting to TO BRING DOWN BUSINESSES and TIDE EACH INDIVIDUAL CITIZENS hands backward while the beast is hitting us with TAXES AFTER TAXES.

6. And yet John #4, Hillary was elected twice to the Senate in New York by comfortable margins. The Republicans had their chance twice to stop her but both times ran folks nobody knew - and they failed.
Perhaps the Republican Party should be held accountable for that - but from all I hear the party is largely in shambles in New York State.

7. Mitt Romneys Healthcare Plan will defeat Hilliarys plan in the general election and what a sweet victory for Romney that will be.As a matter of fact it seems like she is defeated already since she announced yesterday her healthscare plan. What a disaster of a vision and timing of this announcement.Look if you connect healthcare promises for every single individual living in this country whether he/she met the conditions and taxes is equal to economic meltdown.

8. KaM and Jor, who are the same person,
Once again, please feel free to post as many comments as you like, but stop posting under different aliases. I know you're a Romney supporter, and that you want to give the impression that many different people feel the same way that you do. I can't help but feel that your approach is a tad dishonest, however.

9. Rob, I am on here to express MY opinion...not defend it. You are certainly capable of doing your own research on Hillary Clinton.
Sincerely,
Mr. Clark

10. Mr. Clark,
I am not asking you to defend your position, but merely asking you to point out Hillary's accomplishments in government...I seriously cannot find anything of substance. I am an independant voter and was therefore open to voting for the best candidate, so I vetted each candidate as much as possible; I was not able to come up with any meaningful legislation sponsored by Clinton or Thompson. Alernatively, Romney had a long history of success in business and politics and accomplished more as Governor of Mass in four years than any candidate accomplished in a much longer period, hence more support for Romney.
I respect any candidates supporter, provided it is informed and contains substance. Don't offer an opinion if you don't have the knowledge of facts to back it up.

11. If Mitt Romney has any brains in that head of his he will just drop out of the presidential race and save himself the embarassment of not even coming close.

12. Romney is the Republican nominee for President. He's stronger in every major issues.

13. There is 47 Million American uninsured right now--23 million are unisured because insurance companies will not insure them. But Under Mitt's plan there would be 87 million Americans that would be uninsured. You can ck out all the plans on ea web sites. You have to take out the insurance companies or force them to take all. Mitts plan will let Insuaces companies go wild and cancel everyone because of their health--which has nothing to do with how they eat, sleep or live. People it CALLED ---DNA

As a Republican I can assure you that you could not be more wrong. I think we have not seen the leadership Romney can give since Reagan, nor the business sense since Roosevelt.
Please, don't assume what I think or any other Republican.
