(May 14) -- Engagement rumors have swirled after new mom Halle Berry sported a diamond ring on her left hand at an event over the weekend – but no, it's not what you're thinking.

"It's not an engagement ring," a source close to the Oscar winner tells PEOPLE. As for reports suggesting that the ring, designed by Amrapali, was a gift from boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, "Halle just saw it and thought it was beautiful so she bought it for herself." Get the Full Story

Halle Berry is the most gorgeous woman on earth! This stunningly beautiful actress just gets better and better looking as she ages. She is going to be one of those women that looks as wonderful at 60 as she did when she was 25. You GO girl. Oh, and just how gorgeous is her child going to be - with her genes and those of the baby's father - WOW!

What is wrong with you people. SHe bought herself a ring. SHe has the money,saw it, got it. That simple. It sounds like the women in here need a man to buy them what they want. Get ajob and buy your own things. Be independent for cripses sake instead of acting like the "little woman" who needs a man to get them everything.
As far as her wanting a child that is her business and saying she is letting your race down is assinine. SHe is a single woman who wanted a child so she had one. She is never going to be on welfare,she can support a child and take care ofit. What is the problem? Just because she doesn't depend on a man to buyher things or to make her happy or a wedding ring to have a child doesn't make her less of a person. Good for Halle. She knows what she wants and does it. He makes good money. She makes good money. Shame on the women who need to be supported by a man and cannpt make their own living.
