It's a Girl! | Recently Adopted
After visiting Africa several times, Smith and her husband, cinematographer Stephen Lubensky, decided to adopt a baby girl from Ethiopia. They already have a 5-year-old girl named Fanny.

"Got some blessed news ... a celebration of life and bounty ... a newborn concieved (sic) ... yes, my girlfriend Camila and I made a baby together," McConaughey wrote.

Alves, who is three months along, is doing well, the actor wrote.

"We are stoked and wowed by this miracle of creation and this gift from God, and so excited for the adventure that will come in raising this child, being a mother and a father," he said.

McConaughey goes on to say, "Wish us the best, keep us in your prayers, and God bless evolution."

McConaughey, a Texas native, has appeared in films including "The Wedding Planner" and "Sahara" and was named People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 2005.

His latest film, "Fool's Gold," is to be released next month.

[cont.] "............my son turned out great - he's in the military and is a kind man with a good head on his shoulders. I had to grow up fast, but I thank God for my own Mother and Father who raised me to have patience, common sense, and even though I messed up - basic good morals. From the time I was born, to the time I married my husband, to the time I had my son.........I am one of the very blessed in life, and I am so very thankful for it. What really matters here is that Matthew will support this child (not just financially) and love it unconditionally throughout its life.

To be fair....25 years ago I was a stupid teenager who thought she knew it all and got pregnant the second time I had sex with my high school sweetheart (yes, he wore a condom, but it tore, and back then you couldn't obtain other birth control without a parent's permission). Guess what? 25 years later I am still happily married to the same man. We are the exception to the rule. We didn't exactly "have a clue" what marriage was about any more than we did parenting, but through common sense, learning as we went, and refusing to just give up and walk away (too easy), we made it. There were hard times and we had our ups and downs like any other married couple, but we made it. I don't at all regret my decisions, but I think it really is better to marry before having children, especially at a later date when you are (hopefully) more financially and emotionally secure. It's best to spend time getting to know yourself and first having time with your spouse, I think. My son turned out great -

To MILLYCO-Get married? WHY? So they can be divorced in a few years or less...what's so honarble about getting married when you dont respect the institution and STAY married? If you are not ready to get married and will only screw it up, i say they did us legit married couples a favor by not MOCKING it by pretending getting a woman pregnant means they HAVE to. I believe in getting married and then having kids..in this day and age NO ONE gets pregant by ACCDIDENT so the pregnancy was obviously on purpose or due to a lack of responsibility. OBVIOUSLY Mat is 30 something and has been in many high profile relationships and hasnt walked down the aisle yet...neither has George Clooney...some people SHOULDNT get marrid bc they have no clue what marriage is about so spare themsleves the $$ and us the media drama of a divorce and just have a child who might better UNDERSTAND and appreciate being a "bastard" (how antiquated of you to use that term! LOL!) who have parents who get a long and didnt

I think that it is everybody's right to live in this world and believe what they make up their minds to believe after considering everything we all hear as we grow to adlulthood .So therefore it is the choices of the individuals involved in" their lives "to make the decisions of what is right for them.Of course we all have our own opinions.

In true Matthew McConaughey fashion, the actor announced on his Web site that he and his Brazilian model girlfriend, Camila Alves, "made a baby together."

MYANSWER TO THE ABOVE REGARDING MATHHEW MC CONAUGHEY IS BELOW.

You are proud to be a father? If you don't get married before the baby is born, the child will be called a BASTARD. For heavens sake, get married before the child is born. A child needs a committed mother and father to be raised. What kind of an example are you showing the younger generation? Between you Hollywood royals and television, this world is ibad shape. GET MARRIED AND MAKE AN HONEST PERSON OF YOUR CHILD.

jimall3:
I respect your beliefs and truly mean you no disrespect personally. My teachings and interpretations differ from yours/Liberal Episcopalian Churches. My Bible says :
(Leviticus: chapter 18; verse 22)
"You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination". (This is the Lord speaking to Moses)

For me (personally) there is no gray area here. However, I don't believe in being the moral police and telling others how they must live according to God's law. That's between them and God. God still loves us all, we are still His children.
[sorry to the others..I know this is off subject)

jimall3 12:29:44 AM Jan 18 2008

THERE ARE PLENTY OF CHRISTIAN CHURCHES THAT ACCEPT HOMOSEXUALITY AND INTERPRET THE "MEN SHALL NOT LAY WITH MEN PART" AS REFERING TO PERMISCUITY NOT HOMESEXUALITY PER SE. CHECK OUT A LIBERAL EPISCOPALIAN CHURCH SOMETIME. JUST BECAUSE YOUR GAY DOESNT MEAN YOU HAVE TO GIVE UP ON SPIRITUALITY. OF COURSE THE MEDIA ONLY SPEAKS ABOUT THE NEGATIVES OF CHRISTIANITY NOT THE POSITIVES.

Report This! mentirosassf:

Look...if you don't believe in God/Jesus, that's your perrogative....but please show a little respect for another's religion, 'k? After all, I don't (personally) believe in homosexuality (your icon) but I would never out of the blue come on here and disrespect what you believe in. I think it's safe to say that the majority of people on here believe that babies should come after marriage, not before. Of course, if they do, it's not the end of the world, but most of us are taught that it is morally wrong. Just sayin'. To each his own, but people don't n

delrud4, your words sound racist. You said you like Matthew because he "picked black" also "shame on poor racists". All I can agree on with that post is the part where you said "I wish you the best!!!"
Well said on that part. I wish them the best too!
