(July 22) - What a difference a day makes.

Britney Spears earned raves for her glamorous appearance at Jenny McCarthy's autism fundraiser over the weekend. With a tasteful dress and stylish 'do, there was talk that she had regained her old form. But now a new set of photos are drawing negative criticism once again for the troubled pop star.

The photos were taken the day after that fundraiser on the balcony of Spears' Beverly Hills home.

Spears is seen chatting on the phone, showing off her toned form in a bikini. In her right hand is a cigarette.

Son Sean Preston enters the scene and proceeds to pick up mommy's lighter and box of Marlboro Lights. Spears jumps into action to stop the curious two-year-old.

The series of photos have won Britney fresh pans for her mommy skills, coming shortly on the heels of her recent victory for visitation rights with Sean Preston and Jayden James.

"The pictures are sad on many levels," NYU Hospital's Dr. Jonathan Field tells the New York Post. Field, a director of the allergy and asthma clinic, says "we think of people who smoke as outside the norm, so just seeing a picture of someone smoking is odd - seeing someone smoking in front of their little child is shocking."

Russ Sciandra of the American Cancer Society tells the Post that Spears has responsibility to more than just her own children. "Parents who smoke are a poor role model for their children," he says. "Celebrities who smoke are a poor model for everyone's children."
