(July 24) - The View co-host Sherri Shepherd is not "flippant" about abortion, she said Wednesday while addressing some controversial comments she gave to a magazine on the subject recently.

Shepherd, 41, told the Christian magazine Precious Times that she had undergone "more abortions than I can count" during her twenties. But the article, Shepherd said, did not tell the whole story. "The full quote was I suffer from a lot of shame and guilt, and I didn't know how to forgive myself," said Shepherd, clarifying her comments in the current cover story. GET FULL STORY FROM PEOPLE

The show has been on a roll over the past few days. Just last week Elizabeth Hasselbeck broke down on the show.

While discussing Jesse Jackson's alleged utterance of the word, the conservative white-host said that no one should be able to say it because "it perpetuates stereotypes and hate."

Whoopi Goldberg countered her table-mate's argument and said, "We use it the way we want to use it."

Goldberg then became upset when Hasselbeck claimed that they both live in "the same world," and the Oscar-winning actress let her know.

20. She's Trapped in a Box

You know the joke about everyone hating mimes? Apparently <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/whoopi-goldberg/27431' target='_blank'>Whoopi</a> is the exception -- she was irate about a news report on the death of famous mime Marcel Marceau. Goldberg called Marceau a huge influence on her performances, and blasted two "disrespectful" ABC news anchors for their "poorly handled," irreverent story on his passing.

"We do live in different worlds. You don't understand," Whoopi emphasized.

'View' denmother Barbara Walters also chastised Hasselbeck during the discussion.

"You're not listening, you're just talking," she remarked.

The denouement of the conversation came when Hasselbeck burst out in tears asking, "How are we supposed to move forward if we keep using words that bring back that pain?"
