(July 18) - Who knew Howard Stern was such a big softie?

The radio shock jock confessed that the breakup of Jimmy Kimmel and Sarah Silverman hit him hard, Usmagazine.com reports.

"Jimmy e-mailed me and said they were going through some tough times. I was so upset I had to go take a walk," Stern admitted on his talk show.

According to Stern, the split was "mutual" and Jimmy said he had "lost his best friend."
