The sad part is this is not the United States of America any more. We are the United States of the World. We are not innocent until proven guilty anymore. We are guilty till proven innocent. This country has gone down the toilet and you can thank the media and internet as well as the government for invading everyone's privacy. We no longer have a freedom of speech the way it was intended in the constitution. It seems if you have enough money, you can buy your way out of trouble. Why is it that if the Lowe's have done these things to these girls, money will make it alright?

Mr. Puffy: around 70% of sexual harassment cases are never reported for fear of retaliation. If they blackballed these nannies prior to anything even coming up in conversation, this could backfire on the Lowes. None of us KNOWS what happened. I'm just trying to get the "devil's advocate" view on the board.

It is possible that the Lowes did this AFTER having the nannies "blackballed". If that's the case, this is the tip of the iceburg. The nannies probably got blackballed prior to filing ANYTHING and the Lowes did this to ensure they were ruined. The fact of the matter is WE DON'T KNOW SQUAT. We won't know until it goes to court.

Fact of the matter is, that old scandal is going to come back to haunt the Lowes because there isn't any substantial proof that he's NOT prone to such behavior. These cases could go either way, but just because they filed suit first doesn't mean that they are being truthful. It just sounds like their lawyer had them do this thinking that it will sway a possible jury pool. It won't. These nannies probably have a list of people that they can have subpeoned...Think about it...They wouldn't jump into this uninformed and unarmed.
