(Jan 11) - Nicole Richie and her rocker boyfriend Joel Madden are the parents of a daughter, the couple's rep at Handprint Entertainment tells PEOPLE.

Harlow Winter Kate Madden was born Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and weighed 6 lbs. 7 oz.

Claiming that the baby "hardly ever cries," Madden then continues to say that he "can't wait to show off some pictures," but doesn't say what medium he'll do that in.

Richie had confirmed the pregnancy during an interview with Diane Sawyer in late July. "Yes I am. We are," she had told the 'Good Morning America' anchor.

For the couple, first comes baby, next may be marriage. Madden claims he will marry girlfriend Richie one day as he admitted during a segment on Ryan Seacrest's radio show in September. "Obviously, marriage is in our future," said Madden. "I don't know when or where or how, but right now our priority is our family and is the baby."

Madden and Richie, who have been dating since early 2007.

Paris Hilton, Richie's on-again, off-again, on-again best friend, thinks Richie will make a wonderful mother. "I know she's going to be the best mom ever," Hilton told PEOPLE back in August. She added that Richie and boyfriend Joel Madden are "really in love."

While pregnant, Richie had enrolled in a lengthy anti-drinking education program. Richie signed up for a 18-month anti-drinking driver course, known as the SB 38 Alcohol Program, in September. Her enrollment stemmed from a DUI charge in December of 2006.

Richie had pleaded guilty in Superior Court to a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of drugs in a deal with prosecutors that helped her avoid a potential year in jail on her second DUI conviction. She wound up serving 82 minutes on a four-day sentence in August.

I'm happy for them but I can't help thinking there couldn;t possibly be any less talent in that family. I saw their happy pics and videos at the club mixedfriends.com, they got many great fans there.
