(July 16) - The diagnosis could not have been more devastating. At 23, medical student PJ Lukac learned he had a rare, often fast-growing brain tumor.
But it's what Lukac did after the diagnosis that has made headlines in the Chicago Tribune.

According to the newspaper, Lukac, a second-year medical student at Columbia University, sought out Dr. Markus Bredel, the director of the Northwestern Brain Tumor Institute's research program, and said he wanted to study his cancer -- and try to save his own life.
Bredel hired the student as an assistant researcher.
This week, the newspaper reported, Bredel's lab announced it had identified genes that are key to forming the type of tumor Lukac has, glioblastoma. The research suggests that certain genes in the tumor could determine how it will grow, which in turn could help doctors better treat the cancer. It is the same type of brain cancer Sen. Edward Kennedy has.
"The last two or three months, being here and doing what I've been able to do, it just feels great," Lukac, now 24, told the Tribune. "It sounds really weird, but it has been two or three of the best months of my life."
Said Bedel: "Having PJ around us as a co-worker and friend is something that motivates our whole team in trying to be as quick and good as possible in finding that needle in a haystack, or needles in the haystack, to make progress in the treatment ... from which, hopefully, PJ will be able to benefit."

For those who read my Comment about the breakthrough cancer therapy which has been effective in treating a variety of Stage IV cancers, including BRAIN CANCER, prostate, breast, and lung cancer among others, utilizing the first nutritional supplement to be approved by the FDA for use in a cancer study (IND - Investigational New Drug study), and the type of low dose chemo administered by Dr. James Forsythe which virtually excludes side effects, and who would like to read about it but were reluctant to use the Link addresses I provided, here is an alternate way to access most of the information. Type the following into your SEARCH box and "Google" it - James Forsythe AND Poly-MVA - Type it exactly as I did with the "AND" in all capital letters. Then read the hits which contain Dr. Forsythe and/or Poly-MVA. Be sure to go to at least page 2 and read the article at healthfreedomusa.org.

For those who read my Comment about the simple and effective natural cancer therapy which reportedly has yielded often impressive results in treating a variety of cancers, including BRAIN CANCER (left frontal glioblastoma), leukemia, breast, prostate, colon cancer, and more, and which according to one M.D. with an international reputation has "stabilized, improved, or remitted" every cancer patient he has followed with the exception of patients very near death, and would like to read about it but were reluctant to use the Link address I provided, here is an alternate way to access most of the information. Type the following into your SEARCH box and "Google" it: Robert Jay Rowen, M.D. AND Artemisinin Type it exactly as I did with the "AND" in all capital letters. Then read the hits which contain Dr. Rowen's name. Be sure to read the one at townsendletter.com - the Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients.

In the past two years, 3 men and 1 woman in my town have died of glioblastomas. I don't know why they have become more prevalent than any other type of tumor but it is scary. PJ is doing a wonderful thing. Instead of sitting back he is becoming proactive in finding a cure for this type of tumor. I don't think there is any one type of cure for all cancers and I don't think the government is hiding a cure. I truly don't think they are that diabolical.

Wow! So many of you are delusional. It takes a very long time to find a cure for a cancer then it has to be tested and that takes more years. A researcher can work on a drug for decades and have it all fall apart when it gets to the testing stage and they find it has a horrible side effect or breaks down in the body or just doesn't work outside the lab. If you think drug companies and the government don't want to find a cure, you're even crazier. The company that comes up with a cure for ALL cancers will be wealthy beyond belief. The government will get their share, they always do, and they'll be thrilled too. What you don't seem to realize is that some cancers already have cures and some don't. There isn't just one cancer and there isn't just one cure. You need to read this article again, Volsfun48. They've isolated a gene, not found a cure. It doesn't say how long they've been working on it. The article only says this sick young man has been working there for the last co...

I wish this young man would research the definitive link other countries are finding between exposure to electromagnetic/microwave/radiowave radiation and the growth of tumors, especially so since his is a tumor of the brain. Was he a cordless phone or cell phone user? - probably. Was he living or working close to any cell phone or wifi towers or antennas? He will likely NOT learn of this link in any of America's research labs though. My ex-husband had a brain tumor removed, and yes, it was on the side of his head against which he'd hold his cell phone - he also worked on radar for 6 years prior to using this cell phone. But again, as noble as this young man's determination seems, unless he goes against the grain and investigates this link, he will never find the cause or the cure.Cordless Phones and Malignant Brain Tumors:http://www.i-sis.org.uk/cordlessPhonesBrainTumours.phpAudio Archives - Interviews with Top Researchers:http://electromagnetichealth.org/audio-archives-an...

I know how important cancer research is. My mother, grandmother and great aunt all died from cancer. That's why I'm walking 60 miles in 3 days to help find a cure. Go to www.the3day.org to donate for my walk. Look up Katherine Harris.

Young Mr. Lukac can end his research efforts because the elusive needle in a haystack cure for cancer was found over 30 years ago in Rome, Italy--see www.cancerfungus.com. There is absolutely no reason for him to die of cancer now. There was no reason for my grandmother LeBow and three of my friends to die of cancer. They were all uninformed that a cure exists, so they went to their untimely graves the victims of ignorance most foul. I hope PJ does not share their tragic fate, dying of a disease that can be entirely eradicated in 48 days without side effects, pain, surgery or great expense.

I say that we have spent ENOUGH on research for an AIDS vaccine. All people have to do is modify their behavior on that one. There are so many other deadly diseases out there that deserve our attention, diseases that are totally non-preventable and some which are genetic. Come on, people, our tax dollars need to be spent responsibly!

My father was diagnosed with gliobastoma in March & they operated in April. On the day of his operation the doctor told us that they wanted to remove the cancer & do research on it. My father name would not be known, it would only be labled with a number. We figured that if researchers could find a cure & that my father had something to do with it than be it. They told us if all goes well with the surgery that it will take a while to grow back. It is now July & it appears that it has started to grow back already. His health is starting to deteriate, so please PJ stay strong & try your best because that is all you can do & all that we can pray for! I have came to the reality that for my father there is no hope but maybe with the research that you are doing you can save others! Once again "God Bless You" & I wish you luck!
