His lawyer's comments about people dying from chemo-toxicity are irresponsible, inflammatory and down right stupid. That rarely, if ever, happens. Doctors are very careful in monitoring their patients' chemo regemines. I'm doing 10 months of chemo right now, and there are drugs they can give you to prevent this and to alleviate discomfort. Her statement is outrageous and will scare many people who desparately need chemo to survive.

I had the same type of cancer years ago when I was 18. It does make you sick, all chemo does. But I am alive today becasue of it. This alternative B.S. is just that B.S. Endure it boy! It will only be about 10 months of your life to live out the rest of your life.

The poor kid is not really old enough, intelligent enough, or mature enough to realize his own mortality or to make judgments on treatment of his disease. Of course the chemo makes him sick, those chemicals are powerful and toxic, but the fact of the matter is that chemo is his ticket to living a healthy life. However, if his parents/legal guardians are retarded enough to believe that vegetables and vitamin pills will cure his tumor (and the kid agrees), then I don't believe he should be FORCED to take the treatment. Let the doctors and nurses worry about patients and their families willing to go through the necessary medical procedures, and let this kid and his parents go to GNC to get his cure.

I have been a cancer patient since 2006. Thankfully since then I have been cancer free. Chemotherapy chemicals are designed to kill fast growing cells which include cancer cells and white and red blood cells. Chemo does make you sick and frequently nauseated. Drinking large amounts of water following treatments helps. I was given some type of steroid that controlled my nausea well. Finally, Im glad the parents are letting the doctors try to cure him, however at most hospitals in most states you can sign a document refusing treatment or care. I am somewhat surprised the judge didnt honor that request by the family.

His parents are obviously brainwashing him to believe water and vegetables are curing him, BUT NOT THE CHEMO???? How ridiculous. A 13 yr old knows nothing about medical science and his parents should be ashamed of themselves for lying to their own son!! Apparently they'd rather he die so they can save some money! Just disgusting! People like that shouldnt be allowed to have kids.

If the kid doesn't want the treatments he can join a church that doesn't allow them. Than a higher Constitutional right, the right to religious freedom, will bind the hands of the judge that wants him to have the treatments.
