Report This! Why are people getting pregnant after an organ transplant? Do they not realize how sick you have to be to get an organ transplant in the first place? Is it me or is this a crazy story.

I don't think it's you at all. I can't see taking the additional risk for both mother and child and putting the extra stress on a body that is working extra to stay healthy. I understand the desire for some to have their own biological child. But,
being a good parent is not just about birthing.
Iread where an adopted child said I did not come out of my mommy's tummy I came from her heart. How beautiful and true.

So a 14 year old that received a transplant because of an accident has to live her adult life without ever having the choice of reproducing?

should women really be getting pregnant after having a transplant??? the drugs transplant patients have to take are pretty wicked...
lets just do away with the FDA and the DEA altogether !!!

I had the same thought...why are the people with the transplants not being responsable and using reliable birth control? They will be on anti rejection meds for the rest of their lives. Maybe the hospitals need to start tying tubes at the same time as the transplant. Oh hell no that would violate somebody's rights. Jeez, people are stupid.

How about making the FDA independent of the drug companies? Drug companies are paying FDA for running tests and then using their position as employers to pressure FDA. Let's divorce the doctors, FDA, drug companies and insurance companies once and for all. No more entanglements allowed.
