Cancer Center Warns of Cell Phone Risks

Contradicting multiple studies, the director of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Center warns of a cancer risk with cell phones, and urges his faculty and staff to limit their use. "Really at the heart of my concern is that we shouldn't wait for a definitive study to come out, but err on the side of being safe rather than sorry later," Dr. Ronald B. Herberman says.

Salmonella Strain Found in Jalapeno

Calling it a "very important break in the case," the Food and Drug Administration says that the same salmonella strain responsible for a nationwide food-poisoning outbreak has been found in a Mexican-grown jalapeno handled by a Texas produce shipper. Officials are advising consumers not to eat fresh jalapenos or fresh salsa made with them.
