Authorities in New York City say a 37-year-old Bronx man riding a subway killed another passenger in a dispute over a seat. Gerardo Sanchez, who allegedly stabbed the victim in the neck and face with a knife in front of horrified onlookers Saturday, has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Authorities in Florida announce that they have found the body of a Broward County woman missing since 1997. Searchers discovered the remains of 35-year-old Gail Schoening at the bottom of a lake. Officials reopened the case in July and combed the lake using more advanced equipment than that used a dozen years ago.
