Speaking today at the Conservative Political Action Conference, right-wing pundit Ann Coulter said: "I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word 'faggot,' so I - so kind of an impasse, can't really talk about Edwards." Audience members said "ohhh" and then cheered.Hat tip to ....thinkprogress.org.
C-U Next Tuesday Ann!

181. Coulter should have called Edwards a trial lawyer. That would be the ultimate slam. In England, people smoke fags. If you saw an insect smoking a cigarette, would that make it a faggot? What's in a name anyway?

182. Obviously I was going to make a comment about the arrogant and disgraceful Ann Coulter but, It happens to be if you call someone a dirty dyke you might have to go into rehab. So, Ah, Ah, guess I won't talk about the immorality of the lying bitch.

183. First it's important to note that Ann purports to represent conservatives - not Christians. The terms are not synonymous. Secondly, while I do not like the use of the "f-word" (which I used to think meant something else?) or the "n-word" I do find another double standard in the ease that anyone remotely religious can be openly derided and mocked with no one coming to their defense (well, except for Falwell-types who do no good....) Double standards exist everywhere. For every Ann Coulter there's a Jon Stewart or South Park on the other side.
Plus I'd rank Michael Savage as a bit more vile, no?

184. Annie is a boney ass evil crazy bitch, for which represents the mean spirited conservative movement.

186. Let her keep talking: She is the poster child of the Republican Party.

187. If it isn't the pots calling the kettle black. You people express your opinions about Coulter yet all of you feel entitled to your opinion but Coulter isn't allowed that right unless she says what everyone wants to hear, is that right?Coulter has her personal views but who gives a rat's ass. She's not demanding that you agree with her.Why don't all of you try having an independent thought instead of bowing to peer pressure and social engineering. What? Too damned scared to step outside the box?Everybody play nice, nice now because it's a known fact that no one should ever be subjected to anything that they disagree with. This p.c. crap is wearing pretty damned thin.

188. Allowing people like Ann Coulter, and Rush Limbaugh to be the voice of the Republican party is exactly the reason America threw the bums out in 2006. Their bigoted, self-serving demagogues and it seems even Republicans are beginning to see the writing on the wall, because they distant themselves so far from Coulter you would thought she had "coodies", she might, but I digress. I see a split coming in the Republican party, with the Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and Newt Gingrigh types forming their own Ultra Conservative party and making an end run for the white house, ala Ross Perot but with Newt as their front man.

189. At least someone gets it, what Ann says is amusing. It's her style, it's why she books more speeches than a cpa would -- having the same message.
But Ann Coulter and Rosie O'Donnell?? Together on stage?? That would sell tickets, but likely wouldn't get so far.
Rosie is a fat angry slob. Her asset being the only thing larger than her body, is her mouth. She "attended" college, but no degree, she didn't finish.
Ann on the other hand graduated with honors from Cornell... Got her J. D. from Michigan University and was law review. And was one of a few to be included in a special program of the DOJ for honors students. Not exactly a slacker. And obviously with more drive and likely a higher IQ than most attacking her here. Frankly, I'd give that to Rosie too, even the IQ part as she's a success, isn't she?? It's funny to read the whines here from those with their cherished GED's...
And anyone "offended" by Ann's comments should be "offended" by those of Rosie -- but I am sure most aren't. And that seals this "debate" nicely. I don't agree with much Rosie has to say, but you will never find me posting about her comments. As she has every right to say almost anything she likes. Even things that might "offend" me.
Because, and I hope most of you are sitting, you don't have a right not to be offended...
Unfortunately it seems few are aware of that.
And again, what Ann does best is allow the left to describe itself. Ann hasn't said anything near as hateful or gutteral as most here. Love Ann's ability to pull the sheet off you and let you define yourselves as exactly what you claim she it.

191. Ann ?? Hell I think it's really Andy Coulter.I swear if I didn't know better she/he is a man,or at least he was at one time. Either way, it is a shame that so many people think she is the greatest conservative spokes women out there.I think Hannity is her bitch also lol
Dave at 8:38PM on Mar 5th 2007
192. Sorry Scott, If Kerry can't make a joke without people like Ann/Andy jumping all over him, than she can't either.
Dave at 8:53PM on Mar 5th 2007
193. Sounds like many of the fem gay boys here are jealous... Too many "Andy" comments, and comments about her hair, dresses, etc.
Doesn't do much for me, but I don't know any real straight men who would mind waking up next to Coulter. Sexy & rich, not too many guys would toss that out.
So I think it's just anger that they can't wear the same dress and heals. Could also be that on the left, the vocals are like Rosie... And her idea of formal is Bib Overalls...
I doubt any of you are really pissed off, or even mildly offended, it's just an opening for some of you to make political "points" -- or so you think.
But it is entertaining to think that some of you are actually offened or ticked off. Can't think of a nicer crowd to have that happen to.
Ken Whiteside at 9:23PM on Mar 5th 2007
194. Ann,
That was really low and tacky, you give Republicans a bad image. Step down and go home.
lesa at 9:54PM on Mar 5th 2007
195. Ann Coulter is the reason why the conservative movement lacks the ability to reason with the facts, thus relying on hateful tactics to win support. However, since the conservative movement is the main ordeal to why America is such a wasted nation that most would like to blow up, if she continues, then maybe one by one a conservative will realize what they are and change it~
