Speaking today at the Conservative Political Action Conference, right-wing pundit Ann Coulter said: "I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word 'faggot,' so I - so kind of an impasse, can't really talk about Edwards." Mo Rocca appears on a bunch of shows, including CBS News Sunday Morning (with the indescribably wonderful Charles Osgood), The Tonight Show on NBC, and NPR's Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! He's a sometime judge on Iron Chef and was featured on Telemundo's Amore Descarado. Last year he starred on Broadway in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. His expose "All the President's Pets" was published by Crown in 2004.

50. well, I've read all I could possibly stomach by Coulter. The Hitler comparison is fair only insofar as she, like the German, pitch their venom at the lowest common denominator. Both simply reflected cultural malaise. Yes, Larry, I have read her. It's important that real Americans stand up for free speech, of course, but it's also important to stand up for a democratic republic--and against trash-talking hate-mongers like Ann Coulter.

52. I'm saddened to hear about Ann Coulter's recent comments. She's apparently migrating to the "low ground" usually populated by the Rosie O'Donnell -types usually found at the far left end of the political spectrum.
Shame on you Ann! Now you'll give the Left license to use the words "racist" and "homophobe" and "war-monger" and "capitalist" and...Oops! They already do that now if you respectfully disagree with them politically.

If the Republican Party were not such a bleeding mess, in the midst of a deeply and deservedly unpopular war, having been wiped out in the last election, and having been decimated by a record number of scandals, then maybe their pundits could act like grown-ups in public. (Maybe.) My own suggestion is just relax, let the whole Republican Party bleed out and burn up, and then we'll start over.
