31. IMUS ---- WHY DON'T YOU THROW A PUNCH OR TWO. SHARPTON AND JACKSON GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING - THE ENTIRE USA KNOWS THAT - SUCH DOUBLE STANDARDS ARE SLAPPED IN OUR FACE EVERY DAY. WHO ARE WE AFRAID OF???? BILL COSBY TRIED TO TALK TO THE BLACKS - YOU SEE HOW THEY RESPONDED TO COMMON SENSE SO JUST USE THEIR LANGUAGE TO SHOOT BACK - THAT THEY CAN UNDERSTAND!!!!!

32. I've never much cared for Imus but someone explain to me how what he said is any different than Sharpton and Jackson doing everything in their power to destroy the lives of those lacrosse players last year... or Chris Rock trashing white people (and black people) every time his filthy mouth is on Comedy Central.

33. Imus made a stupid comment on a comedy show. And that is all that is the Media is talking about. They are not mentioning all the good things he has done and the people he has helped. Children with Cancer - the injured soldiers - politicians - musical artists - authors, etc. I will not be watching MSNBC ever again. They gave him up to the feeding frenzy - shame on them.

34. Ditto Allen Burton.
If the Rutgers women are going to let remarks by an admitted recovering addict define their lives, then how lame is that? Jackson and Sharpton need to look in the mirror and see who wants to throw the first stone and then get a JOB

35. I'm not a fan of Imus, but the double standard for Sharpton, Jackson, rappers and femanists etc. are getting out of hand. When will white males start saying enough is enough?

36. Without Imus I have no need for MSNBC. I`m calling comcast , to have MSNBC taken off my TV viewing !
Plus I have my own personal boycott on all msnbc sponsers and products, and I sure wouldn`y buy one of those inferior GM pickup trucks, I`ll stick to Chrysler, Ford & Dodge.
I won`t buy anymore Proctor & Gamble products anymore either ! LOL

37. The difference between what Mr. Imus said and the rap songs is Mr. Imus identified a specific group. People should stop trying to justify Mr. Imus' statement. He targeted a specific group of African-Americans. When rappers are using lots of their derogatory language, they are not singling out a class or race of people, they are talking about the public in general. Lets stick to the point!

38. What a Crock of $hit!! Like these girls would be going to Rutgers if they couldn't play basketball?! How come the white girl had to speak? Because these girls are thugs that speak in ebonics! Could 1 out of the 5 pass an 8th grade literacy test? I Doubt it! Letting blacks into professional sports unconditionally has caused the downfall of the NBA, the NFL, and MLB! For every Walter Payton there are 100 Pacman Jones!

40. Well I can't say that some things I've heard him say are ones I would be in agreement with, (that's an understaement..lol). What Imus said was definately not nice. However he did apologize and I truly believe it is just his way of speaking and did not mean it to be taken literally. Why people like Sharpton (supposedly a Reverand) continued to browbeat him after his apology just shows him (and others)to be in need of a little soul searching of their own. No one is even giving Imus a chance to show a change. God says to judge not lest you be judged. If Sharpton is a true believer in God, he should take note and temper his words.

41. Why do I get the feeling that if Eddie Murphy had made the exact same comment there would be no outcry to fire him?
J R Dykes at 9:29AM on Apr 12th 2007
42. I think he must have meant 'nappy headed yard apes'. That is how black children were refered to in the 'good old days'. Ho's is a modern term coined by the 'rap' industry. Imus should stick to his roots and not try to be so 'hip'. The Rutgers girls are just talented hard working college students and certainly didn't deserve to be 'dissed' by a trying to be 'hip' old school racist. He is getting what he deserves, not necessarily for what he said, but for whom he said it about. Go Rutgers Girls Basketball!

43. Everything that Dan wrote previously...Yes thank you, this is exactly how I feel....
Lisa at 9:33AM on Apr 12th 2007
44. Matt Lauer asked the right question this morning on TODAY. Does this mean that whites do not have free speech but everyone else does? (paraphrased) Where does this end? Black rappers can denigrate women and call for cops to be killed. Sharpton can rant against whites like he did in the Tawana Brawley case. Jesse Jackson can father a child out of wedlock. But all of them are held blameless while Don Imus is the sacrificial white lamb...
