61. Stern is 50 times worse. He is so demeaning to women. Not just once but on a regular basis. Why is Stern able to get away with his garbage and nobody says a word?

62. Freedom of Speech requires responsibility by all Americans. All malicious comments should be removed from Rap Music, as well as shock jocks, and all of the other "swaggeringn" "belligerent" "know-it-all" creatures, who roam through the world, seeking the ruin of all. We have come too far to accept racism of any kind, and malice towards any group of people. It is time we "grow up," as a people, and as Nation, and begin thinking kind thoughts of everyone, including ourselves.

63. Imus' comments were in very bad taste and he should apologize and that should be the end of the controversy. This matter does demonstrate the "double standard" in American race relations which is getting worse as time goes on. I do not see "WET" (White Entertainment) only "BET," the "NAACP," not "WAACP." WNBC in New York even has a show called "Positively Black." I have bever heard them produce a show called "Positively White." Please tell me what is going on here.

64. Who is the minority now ? We are all getting tired of Jackson and Sharpton. Enough is enough, Imus has paid more than he should have already on this.
I guess these days an apologize is not enough now they want your blood instead. Hey Reverend what does the bible say ? Forgive and ????? Did you miss that page in the bible ? Did you speak up for the duke kids that were wrongly accused ? HMMM who's the racist here ? It was a bad joke indeed but enough is enough he apologized over and over and over again but you still want blood....Let's move on we all just celebrated Easter rejoice.

65. I think EVERYONE should think before they speak, especially if it's going to be heard by the masses. What IMUS said was very wrong. BUT....there are black radio stations like the one we have in Cleveland that are racist each and every day and no one does anything about it. If the other stations we have put blacks down, there would be an uproar. I agree that the lyrics of some songs are as bad if not worse than what he said, but you have a choice not to listen to those, and I guess when you think about it, you have a choice not to listed to IMUS too. RACISM is RACISM whether it be towards blacks or whites, it doesn't belong on our airwaves, haven't we come too far to revert back to ignorance and stupidity?

66. I heard a commenter on the radio state that the furor is mostly just anti-Imus. I thought about that and wondered if it were Howard Stern who made the comment on his show, would there be as much uproar or would we just gasp and say "I can't believe he said that" and move on? We all know that Howard has gotton away with worse comments, but I think more people like him and accept that it is him making jokes and nothing more. Look at what some comedians say on stage in front of an audience. I don't care for Imus and I don't listen to him, but I do believe that he was just trying to be funny and this time most of the world didn't think it was funny and took it seriously.
I think of people who might be able to get away with that comment and I think of Chris Rock, Howard Stern, Jay Leno (maybe), Conan Obrian, Eddie Murphy just to name a few. I am not saying that a few outcries wouldn't be made, but I don't think any of them would be facing what Imus has gone through over the past week.
Just a thought.

67. I've listened to Imus for over 20 years. From the time he was an alcoholic to his current format of a politically interesting, book promoting, cancer fighting entertainer. Sure he's made some very insensitive remarks but his format is to the " majority" listener- not the "minority" group. His humor transcends race and religion-he takes them all on- and Im sure we all listen and laugh and quickly move on to other subjects.
Sharpton/Jackson- are a self promoting group of black bigots as there are.

68. The only racists on this issue are the so called "REVs" that crawl out of the sewer at every opportunity to advance their own agenda (stealing the spotlight). I don't like it but blacks have made calling their women "HOs and bitches" acceptable in music and the arts. Why is Imus now the scapegoat? The media needs to have the guts to point in the direction of the real racists.

69. Almost everyone is a racist in some way or another. I am an admitted racist in that I can't tolerate the "murder music", booming automobile stereos, pants down to the knees, and the "white America owes us a living" attitude exhibited by a lot of african-americans. On the other hand, I have the greatest respect for anyone of any color who tries to make their own way through this world we have to share without adversely affecting another person.

70. Al Sharpton is a PHONY. NOBODY cares what he thinks.
When a black man mugs a 101 year old white woman, he hides in the folds of his skin.
I never see him raising money for anybody but himself.
That should be the WORST thing that ever happened to the girls.
I have been called alot worse by many people, I just flick it off.
Remember, Sticks and stones can break your bones but names will never harm you.

71. IMUS IS WEARING A NEW T-SHIRT, WITH THE BIG'R' IN CAPS. THE MANUFACTURER'S ARE G.M., PROCTOR & GAMBLE, STAPLES,ETC. THEY HAVE ALL BEEN WEARING THE SAME T-SHIRTS...THEY JUST PASSED IT ON. LOOK WITHIN THE CORPS, THE MILITARY, AND CONGRESS. IMUS HAS BROUGHT FORTH IN HIS DIALOGUES MANY TRUTHS ABOUT THE SICKNESS IN OUR SOCIETY. SHARPTON & JACKSON ARE NOT MEN IN THE IMAGE OF MATIN LUTHER KING. WITHOUT DISCOURSE THE SOLUTION IS LOST. THEY HAVE HAD YEARS TO APPLY PRESSURE ON THE FEDS & COMMUNICATIONS AGENCIES. SHARPTON & JAMES HAVE ALREADY LOST THEIR FIGHT. MAYBE WE NEED TO GO BACK TO THE MOTOR CITY IN 1967?

72. MSNBC are a bunch of cowards, they were afraid of losing the ad money that pays their salaries. Getting Imus out of the way would be easier. It is a sad shape if freedom of speech is taken away. Has anyone ever said something wrong in their lives.
Sure it was wrong but he did say he was sorry, over and over again. Now are they going after all the rap music and all the other talk show hosts? If you don't like what you heard on Imus you had the freedom to turn to another channel. We better watch out in the future Big Brother will be watching. I for one will not watch MSNBC but will listen to Imus on the radio if they have enough courage to keep him on.

73. Yes there is a double standard, Blacks can say anything, rao anything but a white person is restricted and punished. Can't wait untll a Mexican sports figure or news person makes a off balck remark,to see what will happen. This is not just a black white issue, like some would like, Mexican,Asian and others have a say.

74. It is sad to see how racially divided this country is. To think that any sane person would support this person proves to me how white america still feels. It was alright when rapper Ludicrous lost millions of dollars (pepsi) for his music lyrics. Imus is now responsible for starting yet another race war. Is that what white america wants. Does white america have any recollection of your own history. These comments cause hatred, anger and fear. White america is now the minority in this country. Get used to it.
IZZY MARTIN at 9:38AM on Apr 12th 2007
75. OK LETS TELL IT AS IT IS, I AM WHITE AND HAVE SOME BLACK FRIENDS, THAT HOLD THE SAME VEIW AS I AND
MOST AMERICANS. AND THAT IS WE ARE SICK AND TRIED
OF THE AL SHARPTON AND OTHERS, THAT EVERY TIME SOMETHING HAPPENS IT IS OH THE WHITE HAVE SAID SOMETHING BAD ABOUT US AND LETS STAND UP TOGETHER
AND GET ON T.V. AND FIRE SOMEONE. WELL TO THIS I SAY BULL SHIT, LETS GET ALL WHITES AND BLACKS, THAT BELIVE IN GETTING THE STREETS AND MALLS, WHERE
A WOMAN AND CHILD CAN WALK OR PLAY, WITHOUT BEING
SCARED, LET'S STAND UP TO THE BULL SHIT THAT COMES
OUT OF WASHINGTON AND ALL THE AL SHARPTONS IN THE
WORLD AND SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE BLACK OR WHITE, LETS JUST STOP ALL THE BULL SHIT, THAT HAPPEN A 100 YEARS AGO.
