Barack Obama seems less smart and fresh today after using the killings at Virginia Tech as the vehicle to call things he doesn't like -- Don Imus' comment, corporate downsizing, "children whose voices aren't heard" -- "another kind of violence." That stuff is another kind of violence, all right -- the kind that isn't violent.
Meanwhile, AP reports that John Edwards spends $400 on haircuts from a Beverly Hills "celebrity stylist." Even Bill Clinton settled for a $200 haircut from Cristophe. Of course that was more than ten years.
Having camped out in Iowa and New Hampshire, Edwards sometimes is forced to spend less than $400. In Dubuque, Iowa he makes due with a $250 cut from the Design Works salon. In Manchester, New Hampshire, he frequents the Pink Sapphire, which calls itself "a unique boutique for the mind, body and face."
I don't blame Edwards for wanting great haircuts and perhaps other beauty services. Other than his wealth, Edwards' looks are his best asset.

18. No problem with Edward's wealth or how lavishly he might live. You can quibble about his ambulance chasing but making a living is making a living.
Where you have to draw the line is with his hypocrisy. He claims to have a social conscience but was rebuked by the North Carolina Bar for his failure to carry his share of pro bono work on behalf of the poor. Actions speak louder than words.

19. I guess we know in which of the "two Americas" John Edwards' hair lives, eh?
John, I salute you for putting up with the sort of malevolent ignorance seen in some of the other posts. You know which ones . . .

20. gee if this all people talk about no wonder the country is such a mess -- or maybe we just got what we deserved - media running our minds into the ground as they sell us stuff we don't want and can't afford. The problem with last night's debate and the whole election itself is no one has the courage to ask the tough questions and none of the people posting here care whether those questions are asked or answered.
