My fellow blogger, Dinesh D'Souza, asks where atheists are when tragedies like Virginia Tech shooting happens? I'm not an atheist (I'm agnostic), but the answer is simple -- they don't have to be anywhere. They're not the ones with the grand theory of the wonderful, benevolent God who is going to save us all. A thousand times better question is -- where is Jesus?
Or Mohammed? Or Moses? Or Ganesh? Or Apollo? Or Thor? Why didn't any of them ride to the rescue? Here's the real answer, although it makes a lot of you very uncomfortable -- because they don't exist!
They don't do wonderful magic tricks. They're not waiting to the end of time (usually after most of the people on earth are killed according to the so-called holy books) to show up to rescue the few good people left. They're not going to show up any of these tragedies. Because they are a figment of your imagination.
Atheists have nothing to answer for. Whereas, all of the religions claim to have all the answers. So, here's a simple one: Where the hell were you when we needed you?
Yeah, I know, God works in mysterious ways. Excuses are a dime a dozen. You claim there's a magic man up in the sky, so you bear the burden of proof. Ante up. Where is he?

61. Yes I am a believer in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savier. He walks with me every day. I am sure that the victims of VTec and there parents and family are helped by there beliefs that they will see there children again someday. If you have ever been touched by the Lord, You know that it is not a myth, It is true. Yes you do ask why did this happen Lord. Some day we will find out. If you are athiest or agnostic God still loves you. That is unconditional Love Amen

62. There are some wonderful write ups on this blog created. I am fascinated by all of them. I am also very impressed with all of them. I believe in God and will never mock God so all I have is one question. A very simple question for the creator of this blog, and every non-believer in God who reads this. If you indeed, don't believe in God, could you please tell me how humans were created. Since the Bible and all the other books on this earth seem to be either right or wrong in your opinion, and you seem to have all the answers, I am curious where we as humans were created. Was a very detailed human being, with all the biology of blood, brains, flesh, and everything else we got, really made from a spec of dust? Were we made on an assembly line from Robots that were created from a spec of dust? If God is not the creator, is there a creator in your non believing in God brain. It is a very simple question. Please tell me where you think we were created from. I can't give you a more simple question than that. I know where I feel I was created, by God of course with all of the other believers. Please be very detailed in your answer, I am very curious for some feedback. If you give gene lines to apes or dinosaurs, please be more detailed than that. Where did they come from if that is your answer or if you say from dust like the incredible liberal media and extremely liberal professors, WHERE DID THE DUST COME FROM? Thank you so much for your time and answer to the question. I am very excited about the feedback I presume will come about from my very simple question. I have a Bachelors Degree from a great University, but no P.H.D. or Masters so maybe I am not the smartest guy in the world, but just a simple question to all non-believers, where did humans come from? Believers do not need to answer because I am sure we all share the same opinion where we came from besides the different denominations.

64. Why do people always point the finger at God when something goes wrong? It is not his doing that bad things happen....He didn't create bad people he create human beings with separate minds and beliefs.....Sin is the cause of all sickness and war and death......God doesn't just one day decide "Hey let me have bad things happen" No, it's not in His heart to do so...He died for OUR Sins....so why would he want to hurt the thing that He cares and loves the most which is His creation.....people kill people...guns kill people....God doesn't kill people remember that...Sorry but I just felt that I needed to express on how I felt...just as everyone else did

65. I really dislike the people that go "He doesn't exist" - especially the people that go "Where is he, why doesn't he stop this from happening..."
Seriously, go read about Christianity.
If you were any kind of Christian, or any kind of anybody you'd know that God gave us "free will". That this planet is a test to see if we'll do right. It's not God's job, not Jesus' job to stop us...we need to stop us. And if we don't we'll see what happens in the end.
Religion does have the answer, free will. That's your answer. God's not gonna actively seek you out, if you're not gonna give Him the time of day. Kinda like demanding a birthday present from your friend, when you can't even remember their birthday. You're not going to get anything. This life is a test, that's all it is. And whether or not you believe in it, that's your problem. Yes, problem.
But you've already made up your mind, so this post is wasted.

66. OK well let me ask u this! What has this world done for him to want to help you. BOO HOO! Every bad thing that happens in this world thats when you cry to Jesus to help you when the next day you break every commandment in the Bible. Why should he listen to you when you don't listen to him?! Also you put him down like he is some dog you have NO right to do such things. What I think this world needs to recheck there priorities and get Rivival back in America like we once had! You know where Jesus is? He is in the church of the people who gives a crap about him! You want him to show up? Let him show up!

67. I BELEIVE JESUS WAS WALKING THE HALLS WHILE ALL THIS WAS GOING ON. HE IS CRYING WITH THE VICTIMS FRIENDS AND FAMILY, YET KNOW THAT OUR LOVED ONES ARE OK, AND SMILING DOWN ON US. THAT IS JUST MY OPINION.

68. The religious responders to this post have gone out of their way to ignore the point of the post. The point was to show the hypocrisy of Dinesh's disdainful post. You guys can ask where atheists are with disdain, as though there aren't atheists amongst the people who died or the people now grieving, but if atheists ask where god was, atheists are being mean? And the fact that so many of you are hostile, frankly, just points out your own insecurities. The more over the top commenter's, screaming about how mean atheists are, use self-righteous and judgmental language yourselves. Thou protests too much.
Also, I don't have to ask where god was when good things happen. You have to answer that question on both accounts. Atheists don't blame god for anything. Duh. That was the point. You guys are the one's who believe in something that has no basis in empirical reality, and yet atheists have to prove anything to you? I don't think so. Basic principles of burden of proof. You can believe still, if you like. That's fine. I consider that legitimate. What isn't legitimate is to use that belief as a basis to judge, disdain, dismiss, and/or control others who don't believe.

69. I hear hopelessness in some of these posts - - from the atheist/agnostic group. The answer to the question of where was Jesus is this: Jesus was wherever he was supposed to be that day. He is faithful. Period.
And guess what those of us who are blessed to know Him know? That what we call "death" here on earth is the beginnning of a whole new life. Jesus showed there's life after death. Noone else ever did or could show that. That's why we don't freak out about death. It's also why we forgive the "unforgiveable." We have an eternal hope, and it's real. It makes life here livable, and it promises an eternal reward. That's called win/win. Seek out Jesus. Don't wait. You'll never regret it. He will answer you and give you hope too.

70. An inconvenient truth...thanks, Cenk. But nevertheless the cretins must take their daily opium. Oh Jesus, where art thou?

71. YOU ASK, WHERE IS JESUS? I ASK YOU A QUESTION. WHY IS IT THAT THE SAME PEOPLE WHO CLAIM THAT THERE IS NO PERSONAL BENEVOLENT GOD,ARE THE VERY SAME PEOPLE THAT WANT TO BLAME GOD FOR NOT GETTING INVOLVED IN OUR HUMAN AFFAIRS? OUR GOD IS A GENTLEMAN, AND LIKE ANY GENTLEMAN HE WILL NOT STAY WHERE HE IS NOT WANTED.PEOPLE ASK WHERE GOD IS WHEN THESE THINGS HAPPEN? HE IS ON THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE WE SENT HIM WHEN WE KICKED HIM OUT BACK IN THE EARLY SIXTIES.WE CANNOT BLAME GOD FOR WHAT WE HAVE BROUGHT ON OURSELVES.HE DOES NOT INTERVINE BECAUSE WE WILL NOT ALLOW HIM TO.

72. I am never surprised to read comments such as those that always blame "God" for tragedies. God in Heaven, whether you believe or not, does not interfere in such matters though divinity could.I am also always astounded at the lack of intelligence concerning creation. If anyone had any clue into the biological makeup of nature you would know without a doubt that there is one underlying gene code for all creation, and just look at this marvelous earth, how can one say that our solar systme is not created with all nature in perfect harmony. And while many argue that climate change is due to pollution, though you know it is man made or a wrath of religous reasons while everyone is on Viagra in a matrixal game, it's horrendous, and at the billions wasted at the scientific concepts and a war for control of "oil".Global warming though is a polutant problem stemming from automotive, nuclear or other major contributing factors. It does'nt take a rocket scientist to figure this out. As far as "Jesus", many will come in his name and whether you belive or not he is the intercessor for mankind between a God that mankind could not imagine nor is worthy of presence. I only hope that those disbelivers would consider this. The evidence is overwhelming if you would lend and ear. In this day and age most people are relying upon ther ipods and medai sources which are notorius for altering the truth. THINK about it.

73. I could go into a long winded arguement with you. I could say that you are a monster who sickens me. I could say I told you so when you end up paying for your blasphemy in the end. But I will leave God to do that. I pray he has pity on your soul. What have you to say about the others who lived? That they don't matter? That all that matters was that God did not help those who were unfortunate enough not to realize they were to die that day? And DO NOT think that I do not care. One of my friends knew someone who was shot there. As of now I do not know what their condition is but I know she is taking it very hard. God gave us free will. Should he take it away for us not to do anything, good or bad? I'll leave you to think about it.

74. In the year 2000 I died while undergoing surgery. I had stage IV lung cancer (i.e. the cancer had spread throughout my body). My physicians at Duke Med as well as the Chief of Oncology at the VA Med Center Richmond advised that I was terminal and there was "no chance of cure". While under anesthesia the surgeons told me that I started talking to Jesus Christ...today I am totally cancer free! I didn't know if Jesus existed either but I certainly do now...He personally cured me of Stage IV lung cancer. This episode has been entered into my medical records should anyone wish to see. Have a good day Y'all...The Lord Jesus Christ does exist whether you believe in Him or not...

75. I Love God. He is my source of existence.. He keeps Me functioning each and every day.
You telling me that god does not exist made me feel sick. There is not one christian you will ever talk to in your life that will actually believe you if you tell them that jesus christ never died for them or there is no such thing as god. Please let me know if you ever come across anyone who does...abracadabra7889@aim.com
