He's gonna make for some terrific sound bites, and perhaps make some sense along the way.
At least he'll keep it interesting...

6. Fmr. Sen. Gravel has nothing to lose. He is basically a private citizan, running for President.
Some of what he said is very true and made a great deal of sense. He will put some worry into the other candidates. He said things that should have been said long ago but, nobody had the courage to say them. He's right on about our military and the money being spent, who are we afraid of?
Either the rest of the field was being very polite as no one jumped in to say anything or everything he said is true and they knew it.
I would love for him to be around, late into the race. He will keep the rest of them awake and on their toes.

7. Well, you know, Gravel is an intelligent man, but one might keep in mind that he is a FORMER Senator from Alaska. Didn't know the old codger was still alive actually. Be nice if he'd come home once in awhile.
No One is for war. But till Islamic Extremists back pedal on their threats.......if you want out of the Middle East and mind our own business as Gravel suggests, then I strongly suggest we become a separationist nation: IE: CLOSE THOSE G-DAMMED BOARDERS! END IMMIGRATION! HAVE THOSE IN THIS COUNTRY WHO ARE NOT CITIZENS RETURN TO THEIR HOME COUNTRIES AFTER 90 DAYS NOTICE. (eviction) GROW OUR OWN FOOD AGAIN, MAKE OUR OWN CLOTHES, CARS, (HOPEFULLY GREEN ONES) USE OUR OWN (RECYCLED) BUILDING PRODUCTS......I think we can do this. If we can't, then, we deserve the scorn of the world.

8. Hooey? Wow, that's insightful analysis. I mean I guess this guy's statements are SO obviouslly wrong that all you have to do to point it out is use anachronistic putdowns and no specific references to what he actually said. Also, make at least two references to the fact that he's not from the lower 48. I mean since Gravel and Ted Stevens seem to be cut from the exact same cloth like ALL AlASKANS, you need to continually point this out.

9. This guy from Alaska is a complete moron (actually all these candidates are reactionary and intellectually dishonest morons).
Beyond the war, what is even more dangerous than the war in Iraq is the damage to the constitution and separation of powers that these baffoons wish to accomplish.
By the way, Clinton also waged war against Iraq based upon the assumption that they possessed WMD, but that will never be said by this lot.

10. I thought that a Democratic Senator would be much better than that BRIDGE TO NOWHERE Republican, but it seems as though this guy is just as incompetent. How do such nincompoops get elected? Must be the electorate!

11. As a child in the west Indies, I remember my father explaining to me what, then President and one of America’s greatest hero of WWII, General Dwight Eisenhower was warning the world about when he denounced the American Military Industrial complex and what it would ultimately bring to America. I remember the fear that we felt during the Missiles of October and the ominous recollection of what Eisenhower had said before leaving the White House. Since those days I’ve proudly served this country during the Viet Nam Era and have gratefully become one of it’s citizens. My children and grand children are all Americans. Yet I’ve never feared for their well being and that of the great potential of America as much as the present time. The American people are the greatest people in the world and yet today we are hated world wide for the actions of a government that persists on the theory that the strong should lead the poor because we are strong. That theory, like every Empire before, will someday destroy a country that has the potential to really be a leader from the perspective of Humanity and not by brute force. Former Senator Mike Gravel might be just another politician but I must admit I was impressed enough to dedicate this minutes to offer my point of view because of his view. He renew my distant childhood fears again when he brought up The Military Industrial Complex. This destructive force and it’s investors are depleting American lives and assets for the benefits of a few in power and according to the constitution, it is the right of every citizen to oppose anything that intends to destroy the right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. As Senator Gravel questioned; “Who are we still building more atomic weapons for? Don’t we have enough in our extensive arsenal without taking more funds from Social Services dearly needed? Why can we not deal more equally with the rest of the world for peaceful co existence of our planet? We call ourselves Americans because we live within certain boundaries but ultimately the harm that we cause other less “organized countries” for our consumption will deplete the world of all the resources and by consequence it will bring the fall of a nation that could, if it wanted, really be salvation of our planet, the United States. Senator Gravel might sound like a politician to us, but so far, he has been the only one to candidly confront what in Latin America we usually refer to as a “Dictatorship.”

12. David Rosenberg, I'll tell you who we should be afraid of, the maniacs across the pond, the ones brainwashed by there governments to hate America & Americans.Do not try to seperate the terrorists, eventhough they all have different names, they all have the same purpose. You should educate yourselves on the indoctrination that all middleastern countries even our "alies" the Saudis perform on their children throughout their lives, just so they can hate us "TO DEATH",and all with references to God to make it the Law, those are indirect acts of war,if you asked me,that alone is is reason enough to invade any of these countries, especially after 9/11 when we saw that the hate they developed by this indoctrination was such;that they would come all the way over here to attack us.Yes Sen.Gravel yes Dave,be afraid... be very afraid. And for you Anne! as you saild Al Quaeda is now in Iraq making friends With the oppressed people that we helped to free (and pretty much put them in power) after so manny years of abuse and now call for our deaths.Sounds familiar? Yup just like Afghanistan we helped them "keep their country" against the Russians and they attacked us on 9/11 .If we leave Iraq prematurely MARK MY WORDS after the genocide we will have to go there again, and by then they will be very well entrenched and alot more people will die.to think that if we leave these people will sit down and settle their differences by talking is just plain ignorant."EDUCATE YOURSELVES BEFORE PUTING SO MUCH PASSION ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ARGUMENTS"

15. Somebody should bring Senator Gavel up to date on the long series of terrorist attacks on the U.S. It is absolutely amazing that in that collection of dolts and self serving bought and paid for crooks we call the senate, that one member can actually exceed all others in his stupidity and blatant ingnorance of reality.
