But I can't deny that I'm happy to see the Romney camp call out Al Sharpton on what certainly sounds like an anti-Mormon comment. Here it is:

"In no way did I attack Mormons or the Mormon Church when I responded that other believers, not atheists, would vote against Mr. Romney for purely political reasons," Sharpton said.Last month Sharpton insisted, when asked if Imus was bigot, that he couldn't know what was in Don Imus' heart - i.e., perception matters as much intent. Fair enough.
Well then, all we have to go on are Sharpton's words and how they sound. And they certainly sound, um, bigoted.

2. what makes a differance if it is race or religon. you can't make comments ( stupid comments) about someones religon. we all know what would happen if we were to make comments about muslims, even though they are trying to kill us. sharpton is an ass. from one democrate to another. that's why sharpton is where he is. he only takes up for his own .

10. it is unbelievable that al sharpton is stating that his words are being mischaracterized and that he was not specifically referring to Mitt Romney (so that, "That Mormon running..." is not in referrence to Romney!)
we have to set aside any political bone in our body, listen to the man's words and label him for the bigotted liar that he is. He refused the apology of Don Imus, and now I ask, what good would an apology mean from a guy like this sharpton, who has done this before and will do it again?

11. Al Sharpton is a racist and a paid political puppet. Period.
He has done nothing to viably elevate his own, but instead relentlessly chains them to the past in order to sustain a vocation for himself under a civil rights banner. He is a false prophet.
How can Al Sharpton even insinuate the unworthiness of a candidate's religion which carries every ethical value and reverence for life that all honorable religions hold? He has unabashedly done this and in doing so he opens the door to extending this ugly bigotry from religion to race, once again.
He has overstepped the very fine line, and it is about time that loud voices speak up against this buffoon of a traveling show of his which exists at the expense of the humanity he claims to defend. Wise Up! ~ Al Sharpton is your worst enemy!
Mitt Romney is IT! He has the whole package ~ unmatched experience as Governor of MA, keen intellect and communicator, undeniable presence, disciplined fortitude and grace, threaded by an unadulterated sense of integrity. It is a rarity that has not come our way since the Reagan years and may the GOP commit themselves to supporting and meriting his effort with a Presidential nod. May our citizens from every race and religion have the wisdom to elect him.

If you're going to accuse someone at least tell the complete story Mr.Rocca.I'm no fan of Rev Al Sharpton but his answer was in response to Christopher Hitchens statement that Mormons were a racist religon that excluded Blacks and said Blacks were created unequal in the eyes of God.Hence,Rev Al statement meaning that those true believers (which many chhristans believe Mormons are not)wouldn't vote for Gov Romney.It's baffling that Mr Hitchens can make statements that Mormons are racist and also said that Christianty was created in part to control in keep Slaves in line I(which is true also) yet, its only Rev Sharpton (which is taken out of context) statement raises eyebrows and he's ask to apologize.Go figure.Mo you're doing a heck of job.
