17. 1st things 1st. Regarding the energy crisis. In Japan, there exist Hibryd/Electric cars which can readily run on ethanol and can drive 100 miles/gallon. And you know What!? This cars are made by Toyota/Lexus Inc., This cars have existed since about 1997. And you know what...Cr@k head Bob A.K.A. BUSH Will NEVER Let this cars in...Not until we are so in debt in this Full Hearted WAR in Iraq that we can no longer see the light at the end of the tunnel.

18. Actually 456 billion is not much when you consider that the total US budget for 2007 is 2.8 trillion. In other words all the money spent on Iraq over the years would only fund the government for about two months.

I Call All of You out there to Send Your petitions to your local Senators to have BUSH Impeached!

24. It really upsets me to think that a third world country like Brazil can become oil independant, but we can't. Sugar cane is Brazil's plant of choice where corn is ours. But consider Hawii just for example, where sugar cane is grown in abundance and it's used to power their utility plants. Gas there is still up over $4 a gallon because they say that they have to import all of their fuel from the main land. WHY?? Is our government telling us that Brazil can build ethanol refineries to convert sugar cane into ethanol, but it can't be done in Hawaii? Lets face it, our government really isn't intrested in lowering the cost of fuel because of the huge tax revenue that being generated from the high cost of gas.

25. Think about what could have been bought with the more than $546 Billions costs of the 9/11 Islamic terrorist attack. Lives of U.S. citizens, buildings, National counterterrorist measures, fear of another attack, U.S. political division.
What are you going to spend the money on? Political lobbyst will tell you. Remember Abramoff sucker the poor people into gambling casinos.

26. 456 Billion dollars could bought us over 3000 American lives that lost in this sensless war. If we did not spend the money on this nonsense war, we would not have lost all these lives not counting the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives. What a shame, if a CEO of company make a mistake that cost a company millions, he/she will be fired. This president cost this country billions and no one have courage to even ask to fire him!

27. How Much did it cost the US as a result of the world Trade Center disaster? Clean up, rebuilding, payments to relatives of deceased, new security programs implemented?

28. I'm sorry Dan (comment #9), I must be an ignorrant liberal, I learned so much from your tirade. I guess its time I start watching FAUX News to get all the real facts. My bad, I should have known better. I just don't understand why you feel the need to verbally abuse others about their thoughts on this. But I guess that's the way you learn to 'discuss' issues with others from your right wing buddy Bill O'Reilly. Scream and yell to get your point across, and end up sounding like the real idiot. But I must say that it is people like you that are the real threat to this country, with your close minded, biased views. It's just too bad you don't see all the good that this money could have accomplished.

29. We spend 7 times that each year on the liberal entitlement programs. Seven times the total cost of Iraq, our War on terror, on liberal give-a-way programs that have a 40 year failed record. In the mean time, we have had no attacks in 5 years, what is that worth?
david at 11:59AM on May 15th 2007
30. See the more than $456 Billion cost of 9/11 Isalmic terrorist attack. What could have been done with that money and the destruction it caused to U.S.A. way of life.
If you do not see some relationship to the cost of Iraq, you are more dense in the head than this What Could Have Bought Us Instead. Ask U.S. Congress lobbysts.
