Roll Call is reporting that the DC madam's lawyer is saying Dick Cheney might be on her list of clients. He doesn't say that Cheney is on the list, but he makes a curious statement that he isn't not on the list.
Obviously, this weird double negative raises eyebrows. Was the lawyer asked about a number of different people and stopped on Cheney's name? Did he bring up Cheney's name of his own volition? Does he have another purpose in implying a Cheney relationship?
The implication is clear enough, but, of course, that doesn't mean it's true. These are not exactly the world's most reputable people. And I'm not saying that because she apparently ran a prostitution ring, but because she threatened to reveal the names of all of her clients if they didn't help her with her legal fees. That's just flat out extortion and a really skeevy move. So, who knows if they're playing some game here.
But if Cheney is on that list and he did use the services that were provided and he has been running all of these Republican campaigns on family values, well, then there would be hell to pay. It would be the granddaddy of hypocrisy. It would be the hypocrisy to end all hypocrisy.
And you know one thing Republicans can't stand is a sex scandal. Start senseless wars, get thousands of people killed, break the law, violate the constitution, institute a regime of kidnappings and torture -- that's all fine. But a sex scandal -- and you're done.
I am completely serious when I say that we should not rush to judgment here. I have even avoided shooting in the face puns ... until now. Let's see how this story develops.

1. I think the idea that "family values" is the Republican's most important issue is a boring talking point of the left and minority far right. I never cared about Clinton's affairs. I don't care about Cheney.

2. I think "Dick Cheney" is the name Ted Kennedy used when he visited the DC Madam.

3. A hypocritical Republican? This is about as surprising as a tall Swede.

4. The DC madam SURELY woulnd't want Cheney the sleeze bag as a client would she?? If he was a client it would not surprise me one iota. He is a devout

5. What a great blog! Quite frankly, I think it would be priceless if "half mouth smile" turned up as a client. Here he is accepting his lesbian daughter while at the same time participating in an administration that wants the second holocaust - this time with gays as the gasees. I think the last 6 years have pretty much killed the "moral majority" "family values" "[un]Christian values" sound bytes, though the Republicans are still hanging in their to grab every Fundamentalist vote they can get. I agree with the above comment that the values pitch is boring as hell - and maybe Cheney risking a heart attack for a roll in the hay with a prostitute would be just the trick to bring it to a COMPLETE stop.

6. You guys are really pathetic. It must be a funny site to see you all with all your fingers crossed, just hoping and praying that Dick Cheney is on this list. It would be like an early Christmas for you all. Maybe if you wish really hard proof will show up that Cheney is really a devil worshiper and a homosexual and dare we hope, a communist pinko sympathizer.

7. Oops, I meant funny sight. What do you expect from a Republican, good spelling?

8. We need to use this Cheney Hookergate scandal to bring an end to the Iraq war. Everybody should please print out the DC Madam Cheney birthday card and mail it to their pair of U.S. senators, so that gradually the entire U.S. Senate will look up at Cheney sitting before them and bringing to their minds all sorts of lurid images of Cheney greeting each arriving prostitute, telling her what he wants, and then... (use your senatorial imagination :-). Iraq War? :-(

9. I don't know if its true, but there is a theory of thought that aggressive men in their professional lives tend to be masochistic or passsive in their sexual lives. I'm imagining a Cheney replay of Dick Morris, crawling on his hands and knees naked (with the cardiac surgeon watching) while the prostitute pulls him on the leash attached to his collar, saying "you've been a bad doggie!"

10. "The Base" believes JeeZiz walked on water. They are insane.
"The Base" still encourages daily baby burning in Iraq. They are evil.
"The Base" is led by such flaming homo lying through thier teeth religious supremecists that they will grow hard and wet in their jealousy of Cheney. What a hero- a good ole boy, gun-totin' xristian family man with a house fulla Lesbians who is feelthy rich, can say "Fuck Off" to a Senator and not apolgize, can get drunk and shoot a friend in the face while they are out picnicing with chix who are not thier wives AND he gets to whore chase too! Why I bet he gets preachers to use pulpit political money to pay the hookers!
SCANDAL? He's their hero!

11. I believe Mr. Clinton talked about family values as well, but he elected to have on-site services provided.

13. @ Micheal Tefft again.

14. Who cares!! The Republicans only care when it's a Democrat on such a list. But seriously who cares??? Private lives are just that. Besides who in their right mind would want to get within 10 feet of this parasite???
Michael he may just worship the Devil. Actually he is the DEVIL!! He does have all the qualifications to be just that!! A more Evil SOB I don't think we have had!

15. It is amazing how many haters of the "haters" there are on this site. Here, as well as other blogs, many of you must have your own special dictionary with a different definition of hypocrisy.
You must think you are intelligent; we are "insane" but, you can not even spell His name or supremacists, correctly.
We are all "haters". Dick Cheney loves his daughter, but that makes you mad.
Aggressive men? Does that leave out Bill Clinton? That explains his whimping out on us. That may also explain his using a cigar with a White House aid in the Oval Office. Let's see here comes that dictionary, again. What is the definition of ???
Who cares? Not you. It is all those "hating", "insane" Christians. Far be it from you to "hate" anyone, right? Oh, but wait, we horrible Christians, to you, that is a group worth judging and hating. Guess what? JESUS LOVES YOU AND HE LOVES ME, TOO.
