Adam and Eve in the Land of the Dinosaurs - New York Times
Outside the museum scientists may assert that the universe is billions of years old, that fossils are the remains of animals living hundreds of millions of years ago, and that life's diversity is the result of evolution by natural selection. But inside the museum the Earth is barely 6,000 years old, dinosaurs were created on the sixth day, and Jesus is the savior who will one day repair the trauma of man's fall...Read More

1. Hey Jeff - Ken Ham also does indoctrination lessons for elementary school children convincing them that evolution, which can viewed at your nearest medical lab, is false, and a book written by man and edited by a committee of the Catholic Church to determine which chapters got in and which stayed out, is the ultimate answer to all scientific and moral questions in the universe.
I truly love my country, the USA, and love living in the Democratic stronghold of Southeast Florida, its perpetual summer and being a paraplegic, the wheelchair access is FABULOUS (the best in the country). However, since 2000, when the Republican Party married the Fundamentalist Christian movement and gave birth to the world's new Nazi Party, its really been rough.
You see, the new Nazis don't believe in our First Amendment separation of church and state. They somehow can't understand that they have every right to believe and practice their religion, but expressly do not have a right to force it on the majority of Americans. They do not realize that as a nation in which they are a minority, our government has to accomodate all types of beliefs and many cultures. The mere fact that Regent University is the federal government's favorite hiring watering hole is proof enough of just how thoroughly they have infiltrated our government. For seven long years, its been a trip back to the Dark Ages at ultra high speed.
They selectively quote the Bible when they work at the start of their plan to exterminate gays, lesbians and bisexuals in the second holocaust; and they make our whole nation look like a pack of idiots with this creationism s**t. If they're not sticking their nose in someone else's bedroom, they're sticking it up someone's womb to make sure no abortion takes place. They believe in the "right to life" until the umbilical cord is cut, and then a qualified right to life right after that event: you only have a right to life if you can afford insurance.
No wonder the world is either getting nauseous or hysterically laughing when they look at what this nation has become. This is why I am so happy to see you as a blogger on AOL and why I post a lot of comments - I view it as a public service. I believe that a majority of Americans want America to be the USA again, not the Fundamentalist States of America.

2. Flintstones. Meet the Flintstones. They're an animated family. With our mass of knowledge, their tale is told fictionally.
I really do have to question the intellectual acumen of people who believe that humans and dinosaurs lived together, that the Earth is less than 6,000 years old (and nothing in at least 40,000 years of recorded history will prove otherwise), and that some magic space pixie created everything. Oh sure: those people have the right to believe those things, just like a person has the right to believe that blacks are inferior or that the holocaust never happened.
Thus, it's actually a good thing that this museum has opened: it gives everyone a chance to see just how loony the people are who actually believe what the museum shows, and to see just how impossible their claims are.

3. Phil, you are right on my friend. I think the Republicans must have found Jim Jones secrets just before he had his 500 drink the poison. You say separation of church and state. Church is where we vote here in this part of Florida. They also hold "church meetings" to discuss the votes before the big day. Diebold, owned by repubs sure knows how to tabulate your bank money but their voting computer cannot remember your vote! Isnt that a blank check for fraud? I have always felt live and let live, to each his own kinda thing but look what has happened to our country! We had a coup d etat while corporate nazis made a grab for wealth and power at an such an insatiable rate we may never recover from. Phil, you are performing a public service especially for our children who are the victims of these war criminals and incompetants and they will be paying a heavy price their entire lives (if they are lucky to stay alive in a world ever increasing their hatred for Americans. Keep telling the truth, one by one our voices are getting louder!

4. Here are a couple questions for those who
think they came from monkeys.
Who installed the flagela (electric motor
complete with universal joint, bushings, and
a whip tail) which propells every bacteria
and the little engines can turn 100,000 RPM?
Who is building the rail systems in the
cells as little creatures use the tracks
and it is torn down behind them as they go.
This system is in a continual state of
rebuild as the creatures travel in the cells picking up supplies and delivering them to
the cells to burn?
Who is driving this little (looks like an
escaped toy)one of those ones which can be
changed into other things, anyway? I sure
hope these drivers never form a union?
If evolution is real and man has been
studying fossil remains for many years, yet
there has never been found one which has
stood up to scutiny. One a pigs tooth, and
another an old woman, yet others which were
mixed human and chimp bones, while others
were proven complete hoaxes. The latest
of these, they will not remove the great
toe from the rock in fear it is on the side
and not the front of the foot. If Darwin
was right, he said there would be lots of
evidence. Where is any evidence? Seems it
takes more faith to believe in him than
in the word of God as there is much in
the fossil records to prove both the
word and what it says. Much is being
found everyday in the way of proving the
Bible true. Much for us none for Darwin.
For the ignorant person who did not know
that in texas where a river bed was dried
up dynosours and mans foot prints were
found in the same fossilized rock which
once was mud when both walked in it.
Of course, if you are afraid to look at
the evidence, then you will never know.

5. Scientist say there is about an in of dirt
or dust which accumilates each year as
layers. So if that is true, why is there
not many thousands of miles of accumilated
dust and dirt? Why only a few hundred feet?
If there were no universal flood, why do
the mountain ranges of the world all have
clam and sea life on them?
Evolutionist are all looking for the
missing link but if evolution were real
there should be a meriade of evidence
for us to see.
Why whenever any of the past specimens
that were to be the missing link, did
the evolutionist scientific comunity
always make some little (in words way
beyond the normal mans language) note
way in the back of their science
journals to say it was not real.
Never does the Media which makes
great hype when one is put on
display, never tell the other side of
the story when they are proven false.
Darwinists still use some of the old
proven false, chimp skull, chimp and
mans bones mixed (found hundreds of
feet apart). Did you ever wonder how
they ever got their renderings for
what these creatures look like? A
pigs tooth found in Arkansas which
even though they were found liars
about it, still use the drawings
made to show what this almost man
looked like (as evidence).
Doesn't make me wonder as every
time they lie, they seem to keep
getting caught.
Jesus is real!

6. Your comments: Billy, Billy, Billy....Intelligent design is bunk. If
you could bother to take your nose out of your bible, you'd find that there are explanations for the evolution of bacteria flagella and the rest of what you ask for. Like this:
http://www.talkorigins.org/indexcc/CB/CB200_1.html
Further, you'd find that the Piltdown man hoax was exposed by various scientists. The scientific method is a very useful thing, you know. Prevents dogma.
You'd also find that the Paluxy River tracks were shown to be the result of erosion, yet Carl Baugh and Kent Hovind continue to
fraudulently call them "dinosaur and man tracks". But you don't have to take my word for it: http://talkorigins.org/faqs/paluxy.html
The upshot, Billy, is that your mythos is gasping for breath. It's dying out, and this museum is just a dying fit.

7. Jacqueline Cloud, thank you and its nice to see you join me and others who have already started to pick apart the sound byte machine piece by piece. Florida is a trip. Did you notice that when our Republican governor said we should get paper back up records for the machine, our Republican legislature hasn't moved a millimeter to follow up on his suggestion. They lost 19,000 votes in 2006. ABout five counties in 2004 had voting results that were DIRECTLY contrary to the voting registration records, and in 2000 (before I moved here) the state was the embarrassment of the nation. But I guess our legislature doesn't think we have a problem - or, they just want to make sure they can still hack the machines.
William Ehlert, as one spec in the universe talking to another, I'm glad to know that YOU have the ultimate answer to everyone's questions. Did you ever think that maybe science is a means of discovering how our universe (or, for me, higher power of my choice) was created - a glimpse of something that maybe you nor I nor anyone else can fully understand because we are not smart enough. But, actual knowledge can be upsetting when you're used to the comfy routine of sticking by dogma and a book written by man and edited by a Catholic committee which chose which chapters to put in and which to keep out, so I won't say anymore. I want you to have a good, if deluded, day.

8. Phill; Seems you know nothing about the
Bible as what you said is not actually
true.
If you did a study you would find that
the dead sea scrolls which were found in
a cave and dated back to around 100 A D
are word for word what you say the
Catholic church wrote.
A small problem with evolution is,
the creation is in a continual trend
of degrading itself. Evolution If I
am mistaken teaches it is evolving
into a greater state. Seems science
again differs from evolution.
If you believe in evolution, show me
some "real" scientific proof for it.
Not just this guy says so. Go to this
web page and see what is said. If it
is real there should be many thousands
of fossil remains showing this
evolution as it happened but there is
"not really any".
A bird bones which have claws on the
wings. We still have more than two
species which have these. A birds head
with teeth, we still have birds today
in some species which still have teeth.
Show me real scientific evidence and I
would like to see the evidence from the
scientific study which found the foot
prints to be from errosian. Who dried
up the river bed and went in to do study?
Is this just another lie from someone
who wants to defend evolution?
I might not be good at spelling or even
English for that matter but that in no
way makes be dumb enough to believe
what is told to me "without any proof".
Evolutionists lied to get into the
schools when they said in a court of
law, we just want to teach it with
creationism. Seems as soon as they got
in (the evidence used to show that
their beliefs were correct, has since
been debunked as fakes) and almost
immediately creationism was forced out.
Questions I have are these, If God is
not real, why since 1962 when He was
forced out of schools by these same
people has the test scores gone down
hill every year in a continual down
ward trend? Shouldn't the test scores
be going up each year if you who teach
the young evolution are right? It
would seem if we are in a state of
always getting better, shouldn't the
tests show it.
We are getting smarter just a the
Bible said we would in the end times.
The problem is that it is because of
the advances in the computer which
is putting us there not the evolution
of man.
If 80% + people in the US have had
some kind of born again experience,
why do we have to do what just a few
% of the people believe? I guess it
is because you few are just so much
smarter than most of us, because
you can believe things without any
prrof. Kind of sounds like faith
to me. Wouldn't that make it a
religion like humanism which forced
out all the other religions of the
world, telling us speration of
Churh and State is in our Nations
Constitution, which is a lie.
Why seeing how they themselves said
what they believe is by faith and
their own leaders said it is a
religion, do they get to stay?

9. "If you did a study you would find that the dead sea scrolls which were found in a cave and dated back to around 100 A D are word for word what you say the Catholic church wrote."
Wrong. The Qumran family (the DSS) differ in many places from the Masoreh family (the one used in the bibles you read). Further, there are no NT books from Qumran. You'd know that if you had done one whit of research.
"A small problem with evolution is, the creation is in a continual trend of degrading itself. Evolution If I am mistaken teaches it is evolving into a greater state."
You are mistaken. Evolution teaches nothing of the sort.
"If you believe in evolution, show me some 'real' scientific proof for it."
No problem--but you'll have to actually READ the webpages. I know that's going to be difficult for you to do, but that's the price you must pay to be educated. If you don't want to read the webpages, then you will remain ignorant.

#2 was written by a person who went to the Taylor site and looked at the tracks. Of course--feel free to cry about the link to a webpage. That will only make you look like a child.
"Evolutionists lied to get into the schools when they said in a court of law,we just want to teach it with creationism"
Cite, please.
"Questions I have are these, If God is not real, why since 1962 when He was forced out of schools"
Cite, please. Please do note that children not being forced to pray is not the same as god being taken out of school. Unless, of course, you believe that the only way god hears prayers is if someone is forced to pray. Do you believe that, Billy? Do you only pray with a gun to your head?
"Shouldn't the test scores be going up each year if you who teach the young evolution are right?"
Nope. Your questions show a gross lack of understanding of what evolution is. That is not suprising.

12. @ William Ehlert (comment 8)
How do you explain the law courts consistently backing science against this psuedo-science... and your heros failing to make their cases... or not even being willing to testify?
Your arguments are children's arguments like 'how could a lettuce become an animal?' or 'how does a fish suddenly grow lungs and sprout legs?'
It's scarey to imagine that you can indoctrinate the kids to despise science like this in favour of a book that has talking animals and such.
Reality is not opinion-based. All the various spiritual tricksters that humans have imagined are disappearing, disappearing, disappearing...
How do you explain this, William?

13. I was talking to my friend on the way to Miami today and joked: "Where are Nero and the lions when you need them?" You know, its the Republicans' fault for letting these people loose, and now we find that their clones, educated at Pat Robertson's barely accredited law school, have been seeded throughout top positions in the federal government. The more I read the idiocy and intolerance and utter desire to go back to the Middle Ages, the more alarmed I get. When are they planning the book burnings?
Phil at 6:12PM on May 27th 2007
14. I applaud the new creationism museum and its defender, William. They point out the folly of modern evolutionary theory; and furthermore, support a literal interpretation of the Bible. They do not go far enough. The problems are not only with modern evolutionary theory, but also with all the “received” Copernican knowledge. The Bible (NRSV version) says creation happened in only six days. Something like stage lights turned on and off to mark the first three days. On the fourth day those little bright specs called stars were placed on a dome called the sky. The sun was also placed on this dome to rule the day with light and the moon stuck on it to rule the night. How else could these lights stay in the sky? The primary purpose of the dome, however, is to separate the waters. Below the dome we have dry land floating on the water. This explains why we can find water under the ground. There is water above the dome on which the sun, moon and stars are pasted. When some of the water leaks through this dome from time to time, we call it rain. When God got mad in Noah’s time, he let all the water out, both from below and from above. It was a mess.
Now consider the Copernican stuff. Everybody believes it, even though they do not have a clue why. The Church fought hard against it a few centuries ago but has given up the struggle to concentrate on the Darwin problem. There is no way that the earth can be orbiting the sun and spinning around on an axis at the same time. This is completely contrary to the earth centered universe described above and to the Bible. Do you feel as if the earth is moving? If so, which direction is it moving? If you calculate speeds according to these so-called modern scientific theories, you are moving nearly 1000 mph from the spin alone. Why, you’d fly off, just like a dog shaking water off its back (and its back’s not moving close to 1000 mph). If you calculate the “so called” orbital speed, you would be moving about 17,000 mph. I would be afraid to jump off the ground, if the earth was moving like that. I would be in the next county by the time I landed. These modern scientific theories are clearly nonsense. You say the astronauts have been out there, and they did not hit any dome. All this space travel stuff is just a government conspiracy to get taxpayers to fund the kind of modern science claptrap I am talking about. Why don’t you have any evidence of the conspiracy? Well, you don’t have any evidence, because it is a conspiracy. That’s a pretty tight circular argument, don’t you think? The best explanation for anything you want to explain is that God did it. It’s a more reductive argument than any physics or biological argument can be. It’s almost impossible to refute and can explain anything. What more could you want?

The Bible promotes slavery, killing your misbehaving child, stoning the shrimp eaters, stoning the adultress, keeping disabled people away from the altar, and also prohibits wearing of cloth with two fabrics (I hope you're wearing pure cotton today), among other weird things. Of course Mr. Wright, who says he's a professor but does not even show that he has a masters' degree believes in all of these things - because, when we get into literal interpretation, we don't get to pick and choose to literally interpret whatever supports our pet prejudice or belief and discard the rest. Literal interpretation means literal interpretation of everything. Thus, Mr. Wright needs to have his children taken away from him because he is a danger to himself and others and placed under a minimum 3 day involuntary psychiatric evaluation.
By the way, Mr. Wright - what Bible college or online Fundamentalist "college" - all unaccredited - do you teach at? Or, do you simply teach yourself, then spout out your ignorance so we can all see it for ourselves?
Remember now, no shrimp today - someone may be literally interpreting the Bible and stone you to death on the way to you car after lunch. Thank you Pres. Bush for letting loose this pack of idiots into mainstream American culture.
