18. It's really sad that in this day an age there are still people who don't know when to just shut the hell up. If American Idol did not have a representative group of contestants from all walks of life in America, the show would have went bust years ago. And the fact that this womans argument of what an American Idol in her mind should be suggest a bit of bigotry and disillusionment. Her excuse about the possibilities of health problems was lame. It is programs like American Idol that give the over sized, not so pretty, normal person with some kind of extraordinary talent a chance at fame that they might otherwise not get. Aretha Franklin, Patti La bell, Chaka Khan, and Mahalia Jackson are Icons in American music and where not little skinny women. Marilyn Monroe was not a little bitty woman. Anybody remember Twiggy? Was she healthy?

19. This woman that appeared on FOX to complain about the weight of the contestants seems to be insecure. She is on the homely side so could it be that she wishes to bring others down with her? Why FOX would even air such an interview is beyond me. Do they like to cause controversy? It seems to be so. I see no reason for them to be discussing Jordin's weight and the "what if" possibilities. Jordin looks like a healthy 17 girl. She is tall, beautiful and deserved to win. This homely woman (not sure where they dug her up) needs to get counseling and get over her own insecurities and issues. FOX - get a clue.

20. Did this moron just crawl out of the closet or something? Wonder what she sees when she looks at lovely Kat McPhee? Did she see a bulemic? NO. But she is/was. Ruben was far more obese. Taylor wasnt a skinny minnie. Elliot Yamin was thin but had diabetes as did Chicken LIttle, Kevin Covais.

I dont like ugly when I wantch TV and this commentator is ugly with that scragly hair and thick glasses and ghostly pale skin. What i see is an anorexic with anemia and bad eyesight. NOW she isnt exactly the picture of perfect health to me.

21. I can not believe that this is even a issue. Why do you have to be skinny to be a model, singer, or actress/actor? The negative comments such as Ms MeMe Roth's is the problem. Kids today worry about being to heavy. They starve themselves to try and fit in to todays society. They have no self esteem and a lot of times stay inside there on little world and begin to shut down because they are to BIG to be in what is so called the NORM... What does normal mean? They are laughed at, picked on, shunned away and aren't accepted for who they truly are. We ask why must kids be so cruel? In reality its people like MeMe Roth with her negative statements that teach the kids today to be so cruel. Who is she to judge anyone? She is nothing but a self-rightous hypocrite!

22. This coming from the same chick that said that women commit fraud by being at one weight when the walk down the aisle on their wedding day with no real committment to stay at that weight. Or how she was trying to organize a boycott of girl scout cookies because they contribute to obesity. Maybe she could talk about how she got arrested at a local YMCA because they had ther audacity to have a candy bar in their machine - so she dumped a truckload of snack food on their lawn and held a mini protest. Her - and her other 2 members of NAAO - Herself, her, and she. Her real name is Merideth - she likes MeMe - as in Me! Me! A loud moth one person travelling freak show. What I really want to hear, however, is how Fox allowed this loud mouth irrelevant (as in look her or her organization up on Wikipedia and you get zilch irrelevant) to get on when her Hero is Bill Clinton?!? 24. there should be some standards. People should stop whining because they have been eliminated from a compitition because they can't seem to keep their mug out of the Ice Cream carton. I think it's disgraceful in this day of super models, who go out of their way to show us the proper body weight to height, to have these tubby's, and worse, running around completly dis-regarding the fact that they are so abnormal. 26. I think Jordin is a beautiful young woman. I am 5 feet tall and weigh 110 lbs. Jordin is 6 feet tall and would look dead at 110 lbs. Some people are just plain crazy. Sing on Jordin, we love you and don't let some one who is so ignorant bother you, You are a big girl and you need more weight than some skinny bimbo. You don't look a bit over weight to me. And they say TV puts ten lbs on you.

27. I wasn't sure if I was watching a "Let's Be Fat Singing Commercial" or American Idol. Ms. Jordin is what she is .. a FAT KID with a somewhat pretty face .. and she's also from a mixed marriage which is disgusting enough! What she really needs to do is join LA Weight Loss, Jenny Craig for a few weeks and then go on a starvation diet to shrink her monster body. One observer was right, she only looks normal standing perhaps next to Shaq or that other fat ass black boy American Idol. But one thing for a certainty, Ms. Jordin will sink into oblivion, like that other forgettable black gal with a huge mouth that won American Idol .. ummmm, what's her name? Oh she was such a standard for American kids .. had an illegitimate baby .. unmarried, etc. What's her name? Gosh, I don't know anyone that's purchased her album? Maybe Ms. Jordin and the other Idol forgettables should team up, form a group and call themselves "The FATS" ..

The other biggest problem with American Idol is the voting system. Usually the best singers are tossed because they don't have wild hair, aren't colored and the American public voters are a bunch of idiots anyway......

28. I don't agree with this woman at all. I'm sorry but I have a daughter who is 8 and she is not fat and runs in about the 70% for weight in her age. But it's sad when she tells me at age 8 that she is to big and needs to lose weight. Yes I worry Jordin might be a little overweight but she is far from fat and I think she gives a good image besides all these models that are a size 0 let's be realistic the average person is not that skinny. Back when Christie Brinkley modeled everyone thought she was beautiful well she would never make it in todays modeling because she would be to big. Bring back average people please....not anexric looking girls that most women to look that way would have to become anerexic or belimic.

29. A good number of Idol contestants are indeed Fat - good singers or not - at that age, they should NOT be that porky. The shrieking protests from the others posting online are no doubt sent in by fat slobs themselves. Obesity in this nation is epidemic, and why? Because parents and school systems have dialed back any emphasis on Physical education, comeptetive sports etc..This latest Idol winner is Fat. Period. If she had a body fat index test taken, I'll bet all of you your morning fix of Dunkin Donuts that she's way over the limit for someone her height and age. The medical cost of obesity is dwarfing (pardon the pun) the cost of treating diseases related to smoking in this nation. Health care costs are out of control for that very reason. And all this talk about "inner beauty" is nothing more than an way of excusing poor eating habits, lack of exercise etc.. The commentator was correct about fat idol contestants setting a bad example for young people - which is the majority of the show's audience. But hey, what does it matter right? Just keep on jamming down those LiL Debbie snack cakes and expressing your outrage online...LOL
