Tom DeLay claimed recently that his adultery was better than Newt Gingrich's because at least he didn't do it while they were prosecuting Bill Clinton for lying about his own adulterous affair. Yeah, if you're going to cheat on your wife, it's much better to get it out of the way before you start demonizing someone else for doing the same thing.
Here's DeLay on his moral superiority to Gingrich and why his adultery was better:
"I was no longer committing adultery by that time, the impeachment trial. There's a big difference."
Do you think there's a big difference? I wonder if his wife thought there was big difference?
He also said it was okay because he later found Jesus.
"Also, I had returned to Christ and repented my sins by that time."
I wonder if his wife agreed with that rationale, too. Try telling this to your wife -- No, it's okay honey, I found Jesus after I slept with that other woman.
Would that excuse work for you?
I might have helped to find Jesus before he jumped in the sack with someone he wasn't married to, but it's funny how that always works. Jesus is usually hiding until right after someone gets caught doing something really bad. And then all of a sudden people find him around every corner.
What do you think -- is there such a thing as better adultery?

18. Lies, damned lies, and politics. No wonder the founders wanted a separation between church and state...they realized that there would be evil men who would use religion to gain access to power, and attempt to destroy each other, and all the while, dragging the country through one sewer after another.

19. I did answer the question and I commented directly on a quote of Mr. Uygur's post. The answer is: I don't care about either of their affairs or anyone else's. It's none of my business.

20. Perhaps you guys (Susan & the one below) should read my answer. I don't care about any of these guys' affairs. I don't make moral judgements on people's personal lives. I would think the liberal pundits woudn't either, but they seem to do it quite a lot.

21. It's all about honesty. Why don't politicians simply assume responsibility for their actions. Jesus may have forgiven them, but that is not relevant. What Is important is that as a public servant they point out the truth, they have failed, are weak or any other human experience. I believe that if they would just be honest, it might be more benificial for their future careers and respect would follow them.

22. WHAT A DICK BOTH OF THESE REPUBLICANS ARE HYPOCRITES WHEN IS AMERICA GOING TO WAKE UP AND SEE THE HYPOCRISY OF THIS PARTY? IF DELAY CLAIMS HE FOUND JESUS AFTER HIS AFFAIR THEN WHAT DO HE DO WITH JESUS WHILE HE WAS COMMITTING ETHICS VIOLATIONS WITH JACK ABRAMOFF? I CAN'T WAIT FOR HIS TRIAL TO START SOMETIME THIS YEAR. IF WE CAN PUT THEM ALL IN PRISON IT WILL BE A GREAT DAY IN AMERICA!

23. Lying about having sex with someone other than your spouse, is usually a question only asked under oath when someone files for divorce and claims adultery. Clinton did what most married people do when asked..he lied. The Repukes knew he'd lie and they chose to have faggot Ken Starr ask him under oath. Even Starr later admitted he should never have asked that question so the Republicans could get one charge against Clinton for impeachment. It's a clear sign of the stupidity of america. Now we have people claiming their adultery was better than the others and no Repuke poster seems to be sickened about this and just calling them both immoral assholes. The dumbing down of America has began..and Repukes seem to hold the lead. Congrats!

24. The media is CONSERVATIVE, all major media outlets are now corporate owned, corporations support republicans and conservatives and that is why the Republicans and the conservatives can get away with this hypocracy.

25. Delay and Gingich need to just go away. Shut their mouths and give America a chance to forget them and the hypocrisy they espoused.

26. What we need to be considering is that we need to adopt the same measures China has when it comes to corruption. Public executions, that would take care of both Tom and Newt.

28. Mike D,
You're right, perjury (of which Clinton was not found guilty) is a big crime. As such, Elliot Abrams (Iran-Contra perjurer) should be extracted from Bush's administration.

29. I do not care about the sex life of our leaders, I care if they are good leaders. The only thing pertinent about Republican adultry is the hypocrisy it represents as they excoriated Clinton. Isn't it time to leave the Presidential bedroom alone now - and focus on making sure horrible misrule of our nation since 2006 comes to a definitive end.
Once the camera moves away from our leaders' beds and to congressional voting records and President Bush's veto pen, its quite clear what needs to be done in 2008 to restore our nation. The Democrats have kept their promises - and America has learned that without a veto proof Democratic Congress and/or a Democratic president, the Republicans will always protect their misrule by fighting the force of positive change that America and the Democrats want so badly.

30. Guys, listen up. From now on, make sure you pick just the right time to have your affairs...and after each affair, remember to "find Jesus". Then everything will be OK.
