Much has already been written about Lindsay Lohan's recent troubles, some of it musical, so there's no need to go on about them at length here.
Instead, let's briefly discuss the ripple effect, which is what happens with other people decide that celebrity lifestyles are so desirable that they must be foisted on innocent little children. (The words "innocent," "desirable," and "lifestyles" should all be in ironic quotation marks, but that starts to look cluttered, and it "disrupts" the "flow" of "thought.")
After you watch this video -- can it be real? -- a number of questions will no doubt spring to mind, but the one that got me was this one: how can every kid be the tannest kid in the class? Isn't that impossible? (h/t: BWE)

1. see just got the Lohan special big deal....It is crazy to spend 1300 dollars on tanning supplies but if you can afford it then it reallly doesn't matter!

2. Call me slow, but... I thought tanning was a no no... Isn't it harmful for the skin? Why are these people trying to get darker? It has to be the strangest thing, to me... It is not safe... Did I miss the latest report on the UV, sun rays, Ozone, with a hole in it... Not as protective, as it once was...Melanoma, was all of this, just hype>

3. $1300 for skin cancer? She should have just went to the grocery store and bought some sun screen that gives that tanned effect.

5. i think it's sad that in California, children are growing up thinking they have to bleach their hair, buy fake breasts, and be an eery orange glow color that they think is tan....and the mother is doing this for a young girl's school picture? No one in California is going to stand out and be original anymore...they're all looking like scary barbie dolls with nothing real on them anymore and they're starting younger and younger. Whatever happened with just going to the beach?

6. the shallow mother just doomed herself to public and private ridicule. what a terrible way to communicate disturbing messages to a child. i'm a 4th generation californian...honestly - it was different there when i was young!! the place has changed too much. anyway, the video is a sad testimonial....poor girl. shame on you, mom.

8. Southeast Florida is absolutely just as bad. It has to have the largest plastic surgery medical industry in the country. Because some are discount operations operating out of their garage - the results tend to be bad at times. And, of course, if your a white female you HAVE to be blonde (it doesn't matter if the dark roots show - its the attempt that counts.)

11. The Mother just Hooked her child to the Fake world of looking good. Instead of going through life with what you have, this little girl will be having her Hair Dyed, Breast Implants, Nose Job, Tummy Tucks, Plastic Surgery and anything else to make her look beautiful and young. By the time she is 40 years old, she will be the ugliest person without the fake everything she has done to herself.

12. Florida doesn't come close to California...u see all the shows taped there: Dr. 90210, Housewives:the real orange county, and that new tanning show that is showing this mother and daughter....teenagers in florida are just as wealthy, but don't look like those poor teen girls in LA, Beverly Hills, etc....i lived on the East Coast of Florida....and the tanning and bleaching trend along with teens getting plastic surgery in California HAS to be higher than anywhere else.

13. This is disgusting...I was actually watching this show last night and saw this and thought well...goodbye society. This little girl obviously doesnt want this WHO WOULD? Its just embarrassing and such a shame!

15. Talk about horrible parenting!! The Mom is obviously trying to live her life thru the life of her child. It is so sad that she is being taught to be sooo vain. It is her Mother's responsibility to let her be a little girl. There is plenty of time to be an adult once you are an adult. It's clear Mom will be buying her a nose job or augmentation for 8th grade graduation.
Mom's insecurities are certainly showing thru and her daughter will grow up to be just like her. So sad... they should have intervention for parents like that.
