The old catch phrase used to be, "Show me the money!" I like Gisele's variation of that, "Show me the virgins!"
Here's the Reuters article that has her direct quotes.

1. THE CHURCH NEEDS TO WAKE UP! GISELE IS RIGHT ON!
ROXANE at 10:53AM on Jun 6th 2007
2. Its time for the Evangelical Red States to get off their high horse. Red States have the highest incidence of teen pregnancy!!! http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/12/6/145758/107 .
I guess except for beating up gays, whats said at the mega-church or other ultra conservative Christian churches stays there after Sunday service, then a whole new reality takes over.
There are still apolitical Christian sects which adhere to actual Christianity, love, acceptance, inclusion, forgiveness. The American Episcopaleans are one such sect. For the Focus on the Family crowd, however, Christianity and "moral values" are mentioned a lot, they just aren't practiced. Giselle hit the nail on the head.
Lets kick these "false prophets" out of our politcal life. When half the Republican contenders believe in creationism over evolution, you can't help but wonder why the US is losing its technological lead. There is STILL a way to be truly religious (or humanitarianly non-religious if you choose - thats what the First Amendment is all about) - vote Democratic in 2008.

3. If she knew the damage she was doing by saying those things, most likely she would have kept her OPINIONS to herself, but then again, she is probably so full of her ugly self that she just likes to hear herself talk. She will be singing a different tune on judgement day, as will most who walk and support ideologies as destructive as those opinions.
Democrats = DEMOns that's why they are all for killing innocent babies and standing against good Christian values.

4. Gisele is not only smarter than the Pope, she also looks better in a dress!

5. She is an idiot to begin with, by making the comment that the church teachings applied to other
ages women and not to the modern ones. Church teachings, cannons, and dogmas are perennial and no temporal. We obey Gods teachings as they hav been passed on to us and we abiding to God and Jesus Christ by faith. Straiten your actt lady.

6. It is always humorous when celebrities make news by providing their own opinions without a basis for it. Gisele's is a classic example of someone speaking from her emotions without anything to back it up. Gisele's statement that "no one is a virgin" before they marry is simply false.
It used to be that we applauded and praised indivuals for having high morals and for good reason; high morals before marriage are a sign of high morals after marriage. While I do not stand with the Catholic Church on all of its views, here it has it correct.
Virtue and morality should be respected and encouraged. Instead of attempting to demoralize society, Gisele should find ways to better society and speak about things that she really knows something about.

10. I just read Phil's comments that claim a higher incidence of teen pregnancies in red states than in blue states. However, if you look at the original CDC report to which his secondary source refers, it refers to births, not pregnancies. see: http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr52/nvsr52_10.pdf
This is significant because some pregnancies are terminated by abortion, not by birth. Using Phil's logic, one can deduce that teenage girls in red states are more respectful of human life than teenage girls in blue states because they are less prone to terminate their pregnancies by abortion than are girls in blue states. The reported statistics also lump into these numbers both married and unmarried women.
Even assuming Phil's suggestions are correct, a red state or a blue state is determined by those who voted in the Presidential election in that state; not by the individuals who live there.
Phil's generalized comments about churchgoers beating up those with same gender attractions show his discomfort in engaging in an intelligent debate on the subject; rather than debate the actual issue he would rather engage in name calling and hate based argument.
The fact is that morality is morality regardless of who or how many individuals are immoral. The fact is that extramarital sexual relations causes a number of social ills including sexually transmitted diseases, children who are born without parents who love and care for them and the disintegration of serious relationships between husbands and wives. We would do far better as a society in preventing these ills by encouraging moral and virtuous behavior than we do now with remedies for immoral behavior that only encourage increased immoral behavior.

11. first I would like ot say peter panella( probery not your eal name either ) your vulgar and disrespectfull. do you think that makes you look good obviously your a child who got on your moms computer .
the catholic church is still living in ancient times when girls were virgins before they married cause most were married at 13 years old and not to other 13year olds but to older men . What does that say for the church ? Birth control was not needed in the ancieent times as infant mortality was sky high now with technology and medicine that is no longer true , constant warring and disease were also a hug problem . Our population
has grown way to fast it is common sense to use some form of birth control. Condoms are a must these days with all the diseases out there safe sex is needed . I am sure those priest having sex with little boys use them .
Abortion well I am pro choice and feel a woman has the right to choose it is HER body ! It really aggravates me when men speak out against it they do not have to go through pregnacy or bring up and support that child usually alone no they are the ones who run away when the girl tells him she is pregnant then calls her a whore ! OMG I see it all the time . I feel men do that to have control over women and out of guilt ( how many of them made a girl have a abortion)
Men why dont you use a comdom and take some resposibitlity ??
Instead of the church helping young women they condem them but never condem the men why is that?? I was always under the impression you needed a man you to get pregnant?
So the church is saying that god teaches that men can do no wrong and women are the evil doers of the world hmmmmmm . NO I think men say that and have for thousands of years and say it is gods word .
God gave us ALL ( this means all women and men ) a great gift it is called free will which means we all have the freedom to choose. So who are these Religious men to take away a gift God gave to everyone .
The church and basically all structured religions need to become more realistic and get with the times so to speak.
I have to ask also how many young girls virginities where taken from them by a priest, thier own fathers , step fathers , pediphiles, rapest. I dont think they had alot of choice do you ?

14. peter p panella jr. IS A DEVIANT SON-OF-A-BITCH The only piece of ass he's ever had is his own.
Tony at 7:19PM on Jun 6th 2007
15. First of all Gisele should keep these kinds of comments to herself because she doesn't know what she's talking about. I was a virgin when I got married and so was my husband. People attack what is foreign to them, and this is another example of that. The church should teach what is in the Bible. Nothing more and nothing less. Devlyn is right about women being the only ones who are taught to not have sex before marriage. Boys and girls should be taught that premarital sex is immoral and denounced by the bible. You can have healthy and happy relationships without having sex, and you don't have to worry about unwanted pregnancies, or STD's.
If you don't believe in what someone else is teaching, then don't. But don't attack people who live by this moral code.
