"Fox News has a history of inappropriate on-air mistakes that are neither fair, nor balanced. This type of disrespect for people of color should no longer be tolerated. I am personally offended by the network's complete disregard for accuracy in reporting and lackluster on-air apology."
The mishap is the in the video footage below. via TPM
"Complete disregard for accuracy in reporting", indeed. I wonder if there are other examples of this floating around? Ok, so either Fox News has an under qualified video archiving staff, or they wanted to make John Conyers look like a bad guy? Maybe both? Why would anybody assume such a thing?
Oh, Tag Series XIV is at around the mid way point, The Ron Paul Tag has an early lead, but maybe this post will give a little boost for the Impeachment tag, currently in third place... Back to the question, Why would Fox News not play nicely with Conyers? Maybe because Conyers wife is vocal about Impeachment?
Or maybe not?...

1. We all know Fox will do anything, overt or subliminal, to preserve the status quo where secular EXTREMELY wealthy Republicans call the shots and simply USE extremist Evangelicals as a distraction so Americans won't focus on the rip-off, as Carl Rove's aides behind Evangelical backs correctly call them "nuts." When you accumulate enough wealth, like the Republican leaders have, it insulates you from the barbaric religious principles of Evangelicalism. This is why Mary Cheney doesn't care about Rove's callous use of religious extremists, and why George Bush congratulates on the birth of her child (hell, he's probably over at the Cheney's for dinner once a week) then does a hypocritical about face and throws the hate filled Evangelicals some bones to keep them happy.
Of course Paul doesn't offer anything on Iraq that isn't already offered by ALL Democratic candidates, he adds a disquieting domestic policy of pure social Darwinism, whose only logical result of a healthy happy elite and a starving, worked to death, majority where only the wealthy get education and healthcare. This is why he will never win the election or nomination. Even mainstream Republicans know you have to bring in revenue from income tax, they just skew it so the burden falls on the majority of Americans whose debt for all the borrowed money is higher than their tax benefits. So, Paul in his own way is perpetuating the class disparity in our nation that grows wider each day, only his version of how to perpetuate it is even colder than mainline Republicans.
Jeff, I don't vote everyday on the Tag series. I don't think I should have to. I think there are a lot of people who don't vote everyday. Variety is the spice of life. I'm ok with talking endlessly about Paul because of repeat voters and his social Darwinism approach to domestic policy, where truly only the strong survive, but that will get as boring as Paul soon, and all because of repeat voters.
If the blog repeatedly focuses on a no possible win candidate, it kind of dilutes the relevance of the blog. I do think exposure of Fox is an ongoing process, because everyday is a new outrage of biased journalism. I also agree there are MORE than ample grounds to impeach Cheney and Bush, but Republican lockstep adherance to his leadership and ignoring the voice of the American people will prevent any impeachment from ever getting Cheney and Bush out of office. In the meantime, the Democrats can still continue to churn out legislation that reflects the American people's views, and we can see how Republicans obstruct those views everytime a bill for America is passed.
Its pretty clear to me that when all is said and done, the American people will make the right choice: kick out the entrenched corrupt Republican power structure; bring back separation of church and state (which in no way inhibits practice of evangelicalism - it just de-politicizes it according to our Constitution); and reject the incredibly selfish domestic world of Ron Paul.
Fox can say all it wants, in 2008, we are still going to end up with a Democratic Congress and President, because they are the only party that is in tune with America's needs.

2. Fox News...the boogieman of American news. The times, they sure are a changin. And Fox News understand's this far better than those old and tired network news programs (if you can believe it, the networks still refer to themselves as "The Big 3"). Sounds sort of 1960ish doesn't it?
So "The Big 3" and other relic's like the NY Times can't keep up. But, instead of updating themseleves a bit, they find it easier to attack front runners like Fox News in an effort to drag them down to the low standards they broadcast at.
Believe me, I have endured network and print media news for over 4 decades. There was very little, if any at all, opinions or questions from people on the other side of an issue. And forget PBS.
So bias in the media sent a lot of people to news stands looking for magazines that presented the other side. Fox News is filling this role on cable. Say what you will about them, but if all you have is network news, you are getting a very filtered and censored look at the news.

3. Jeff,
The alleged error on Fox’s part is running the incorrect file footage while a completely accurate news report was being made. This seems like a very minor error likely made by a junior producer. If this is the best you can come up with for bad Fox reporting it is not saying much about any contention you are making about Fox.

4. # 3 It seems that you cannot even get the name of the blogger correct, I do not believe his name is Jeff but rather Phil. Maybe you are reffering to some future blogger, not sure.
Anyway, what does accuracy mean to some people these days. Moving along.... Fox continnues to make this "LITTLE MINOR MISTAKES" OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.... HMMM...THE INTERESTING PART IS THAT THEIR "LITTLE MINOR MISTAKES" ALWAYS SEEM TO BE WHEN THEY ARE ROPERTING THINGS FROM THE "OTHER GUYS". SO, IT WOULD SEEM TO ME THAT THE FAIR AND BALANCE NETWORK, IS EITHER "NOT!!!" OR IT'S RUN BY A BUNCH OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THEY ARE DOING. MUCH LIKE THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT. PEACE.
