Tag Series XV - Voting Begins

Tag Series XV, half way to thirty.

Last week was a bizarre week, I successfully introduced the Tag Series to AOL and the series churned out a record number of votes and the winning tag, the Ron Paul Tag, is the highest voted winner ever. Just another day in Tag series history. So if your just joining us today you can learn about Tag Series here.

So things are looking good for Tag Series. This week I have chosen six general topics, I want to guarantee you AOLers that come next Sunday you'll be given a good solid afternoon's worth of mind blowing edutainment based on the winning Tag.

Tag Series XV - Ends June 17th
History
Comedy
Activism
Media
Science
War
Video Introduction to each tag is beyond the fold.

Tag #1 - The History Tag

History is always a fascinating subject, the History tag archive currently has over 170 bookmarks and 53 videos, in the past when you wanted to learn anything about history you were forced to either go to a library or hope something historical turns up on your TV. Thanks to the wonders of the Internet you can now explore any historical subject your heart desires, To celebrate the History Tag, the one, the only, James Burke.

That clip is from his epic series "Connections", and if you can always take your internet experience a step further.. "Who is that Frank Gilbreth guy?

Tag #2 - The Comedy Tag

Not interested in thinking, or learning, that's cool, you might be at work and are looking for something funny to help you curb those thoughts of stabbing yourself with a stapler. the web and the Comedy Tag Archive is full of comedic clips, like this classic SCTV spoof of Quincy M.E.

Tag #3 - The Activism Tag

Although I can tell by the comments on the Greenpeace post that not many AOLers will vote for the Activism tag, so voting for it may actually be your own silent form of activism. Many acts of activism are unique works of art designed to attract peoples attention to important issues. Below is an example as the Iraq Veterans against War protest in Manhattan.

Tag #4 - The Media Tag

The media these days is crazy, sometimes I wish I lived in the time before Gutenberg. Ah, well.. You gotta make do with what you got. I can't rant right now or else I'll start thinking about that bitch Paris Hilton again, so representing the media tag today is Lewis Black.

Tag #5 - The Science Tag

Last week I mentioned Sagan would be apart of this weeks Tag Series, unfortunately I went a different route and chose these 6 generic topic, however I can include a Carl Sagan clip to represent the Science Tag entry in this introductory post. Here Carl Sagan explains 4 Billion years of Evolution in under 10 minutes.

Tag #6 - The War Tag

The final tag this week is The War Tag, personally I'm not a fan of war. However, like everybody else I watched 9/11 all day on TV 5 years ago with my college roomates and supported the idea of blowing the shit out whoever was responsible. At the time I thought it was just some zany backwards terrorist organization and figured we would be back to normal by now. Boy was I naive back then. So now apparently my lifetime will consist of a "War on Terror", yeehaw-owww
