| BAGHDAD, June 10 - With the four-month-old increase in American troops showing only modest success in curbing insurgent attacks, American commanders are turning to another strategy that they acknowledge is fraught with risk: arming Sunni Arab groups that have promised to fight militants linked with Al Qaeda who have been their allies in the past. |
In addition for everybody's amusement a great analysis from good ol' Assif Mandvi, if only those translators didn't listen to Clay Aiken...if you know what I mean.
The War Tag is participating in this weeks Tag Series, if voted the winner this Sunday a post will be dedicated to War Related video.

1. Why do we even listen to this dick sucking fag? He'd surrender just so that the islamists would violate his well used hole! Talk about a spoon fed North-eastern pussy boi. The socialists and left wing pinkos really need to spend a week with some hamas fighters and see if they can differentiate real Americans from gay mouthpieces. If they can, you do you think they would kill? They don't "tolerate" well. lol

2. As almost always, funny.
What a completely stupid idea, have we learned nothing from the past? We gave Sadam all of his weapons then we go and fight him twice in a row. Not to mention that we also went and gave the Taliban weapons to go fight Russia for us, and then guess what, they turned around and harbored ole Bin Laden and we had to end up fighting them (not to mention the other humanitarian atrocities they commited to the Afghan civilian population). Here's food for thought, let's stop just handing out weapons like they were candy, most especially to people who already hate us.

3. This is not uncommon historically. We supplied the Soviets during WWII against the Nazis and fought alongside the Chinese against Imperial Japan, because at the time the Japanese and Germans were the greater enemy. We supplied Saddam's Iraq because at the time Khomeini and the Islamists were the greater threat to our security. We supplied bin Laden and the Afghanis because we were still in the Cold War against the Russians, who had invaded Afghanistan. History takes very abrupt twists and turns, and always has. The fact is that Anbar, which was considered lost to Al Qaeda less than a year ago, is fast becoming a hostile arena for them to operate in, and the native Sunni Iraqis there know who they are. It's a risk for sure, but it has been paying off, and I say anyone who wants help eviscerating and slaughtering Al Qaeda forces should get it. It also means fewer American troops are dying here because the Sunnis are taking that dirty job onto themselves. Works for me.
