47. Let's end the war in Iraq AND fix the illegal immigration problems at the same time.
We'll bring home the men and women that are serving in Iraq, put them finger tip to finger tip on both borders with orders to kill anything that moves. All people that are here now will get amnesty by default.
We won't close our borders but we will control them.
If Canada and Mexico don't like it, they can do the same thing on their borders. I'm sure there are as many people trying to get out as are trying to get in.

Responding to "unenochedepasion", I understand that these illegals, or any immigrants for that matter, have the right to move to another place if it will make them feel like they have a chance for a better life. My problem is...if everything is SO bad down there in Mexico, then why don't they take their pro-immigrant parades and equal rights rallies DOWN TO MEXICO AND TRY TO CHANGE THE SITUATION THERE INSTEAD OF FORCING U.S. CITIZENS TO ACCEPT AND DEAL WITH THEIR PROBLEMS!!! I don't see any signs in grocery stores in Russian. I don't hear anyone from Ukraine or Taiwan complaining about not getting fair treatment. I don't see any people from Bolivia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc. having to take MANDATORY LANGUAGE CLASSES IN HIGH SCHOOL like we have to with Spanish. Hell, why don't we teach all these languages? Why don't we print signs, food labels, and show movies in EVERY LANGUAGE so people will feel at home? 50. I keep hearing that it is not physically possible to deport 12 million illegal immigrants. THEY do it every day! Stop at the Walmart in Brownsville Tx. and view the Mexican plates on the vehicles. Recently an illegal was arrested in Phoenix, the home Gov. Polillegalton, for a DUI that killed another driver. He was depoted 5 times for similar arrests! If they can find a way back they can find a way back to ole' sole a Mio!

4.0 grade average loses a scholorship to someone with a lesser school record but has a hispanic name.
and when I see my friend who isn't able to work after working every day for 35 years being turned down for ss disability when I see people getting ss benefits without ever paying a dime into the system.
what especially galls me is seeing them with their parades, flying the Mexican flag high and the American flag is flown upside down...
how can they possibly win anyone to their side with this going on all over the country?

55. A NATION WITHIN A NATION: The decline of Western Civilization


Immigration bills currently before Congress to enforce border security and create programs for illegal immigrants to attain citizenship will do neither! If this Immigration bill is passed it will create a nation within a nation; islands of a privilaged class beyond that of present day Americans. The United States will cease to exist. What will remain will be two nations: one subject to federal laws and one autonomous. This NEW autonomous nation is as yet unnamed, but let us call it the new Hispaniola. Spanish will be their dedicated 'National' language. Islands gerrymandered from local municipalities; 'El Barrio', will have no allegiance to the Constitution. (Much like DC is now)

It remains to be seen if Hispaniola will be allegiant to this country they 'occupy'. If not, what seditious country would hold their allegiance?

Aliens living in Hispaniola islands will be exempt from Federal, State and Local income taxes, the draft ( If any), military service and all federal, state and local laws. Hispaniolians will be able to travel unimpeded, without restrictions, throughout Latin America carrying illegal contraband, without fear of prosecution, creating cross border havoc. As such they will have amnesty for past felony offences. The Border Patrol, crippeled as it is now, will become dysfunctional.

Hispaniola will displace towns, cities and villages and institute TRIBAL LAWS, enforced by 'conquistador's' AND CREATE AN ARMY OF INSURRECTIONISTS! This bill will give them what they really want which is NOT a path to citizenship. Their true goal is sovereignty or autonomy in Hispaniola; bulletproof status isolated from any criticism! Immunity!

As I type this, preparations are under way for this transformation of America by neo-subversive groups. In areas of California and the south, from Yuma, Az to Brownsville, Tx political control has diminished significantly. Phoenix, Az., a city rampant with immigraton related murders, drug trafficing and smuggling will follow California into islands: 'Mexicans Only'. Local authorities presently do what they can to stem the tide of illegal immigrants smuggling meth, drugs and new immigrants into Arizona but there efforts are blunted by federal restrictions. Islamic fundamentalism will only be a footnote compared to this grand revolution.

Think not? Think again. READ THE PROVISIONS OF THIS BILL. IT IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK. IT IS A DECLARATION OF SURRENDER! The Alamo Mission of San Antonio, a national shrine, may yet fly the Mexican flag. World War Two, the Korean War, Vietnam, Iraq, Pear Harbor: All that gave their lives defending the borders of the United States will have died for nothing........nothing! Support the troops? This bill will make a mockery of Arlington Cemetery. The United States Government will have surrendered itself to a foreign power. Dare not call it treason!

This is my opinion and premise but I ask why this legislation is 900 pages of fine print overriding all present immigration laws which now designate a path to citizenship?

The bill does not exactly spell out the suppositions that I make: the intent is there! The bill is designed to create a voting block for perpetual imposition of a Republican dominated Congress and subvert the Constitution! President Bush has nothing to lose! It will create just another bulletproof bureaucratic agency ( Of which there are many) to bypass constitutional mandates. The present Attorney General is paramount for his success: no checks and balances! Legislators are not reading what they endorse; corruption and deception are so endemic in DC, that they have become immune to it. One thing is clear. Border protection, in this legislation, is a myth, as it is now and will NEVER be funded or enforced.

56. The country is in immediate peril. North Korea and Iran are close to developing nuclear weapons. Pakistan and India have tested their own devices. This country should be on high alert and mobilized! All available manpower should be directed to protect our borders from invasion by terrorists. Then, I ask, why isn't there a draft? 57. While I don't necessarily agree with Thomas' comments he does make a valid point. A nation, state or country that ignores its borders, and grants citizenship whimsically risks having its traditional values ignored, and its cities and countries sacked. Example? The Roman Empire. They also started granting citizenship and land to foreigners in a whimsical illogical manner, (of course these foreigners also were serving as their military because the romans were to lazy to fight their own battles, but that's a different issue.)

So, after granting land to a set of foreigners the Romans proceeded to piss them off, and these foreigners turned on the country that too them in, and marched on the capitol and attacked it.

Those that forget their past are doomed to repeat it. At any rate, I think Illegal Immigrants need to be shipped back to their country and barred from ever seeking citizenship in the United States because clearly they decided that they would not respect our laws, which is something that they would need to do as citizens. As far as legal immigrants... if they speak English more power to them, if they don't, that's a personal problem, and not an issue that our education system should have to address.

Tighten the border, ship the illegal immigrants back and tell them that their disrespect of our laws has cost them any chance of citizenship.

Well, since they're not the ones being directly affected, they're just simply taking their sweet old time and smelling the roses, waking up in their big-a effin' house, in the moth--f----ng boondocks, with their unfaithful, wannabe-milf wifes taking care of their snot-nosed brats (The "true" and "rightful" americans, living their very peachy life, while toddlers (also american, in case nobody was aware) have to go through the pain of losing their parents and being stranded in this huge, cruel, country, THEIR country, alone and waiting. Entire families who want and pray for this "American Dream" that this nation gloats and gloats about, but chop off any hand that dares to reach for it. Then these asinine, and gluttonous pigs, the WASPS, REDNECKS, and even those decendants of immigrants who think of themselves as superior to the people that look so similar to them, kick people, like me, who only want to be a part of this self-procalimed "great"and "generous" nation. Its funny how i went through most of my life without even knowing the word "immigration". My parents brought me here when I was 5 months old. My first steps where here. Yet, according to the great americans (i mean that with oh, so, so much sarcasm) i broke the law and should leave. My family, as well as I, pay taxes and indeed contribute to the economy. I learned English and speak it quite fluently. I got an education, like it is required, and recently graduated high school (monday as a matter of fact). I wont be going to college, despite being eligible for scholarships, grants, all sorts of finacial aid, simply because, "I don't belong here". I can't get a licence, "because it is a privilege reserved for true americans". It's BS. There are so many others in the same situation as I'm in, and yet the government finds this issue so difficult. Oh, and I'm not complaining, I'm going with the flow. A little angry, but still going with it.

Now Bush has handed Iraq to Iran on a silver platter while the shia's twiddle their thumbs waiting for us to expend all our resources and leave (or should I say the money we borrow from China to keep this war going and worsen our unrecoverable national and trade deficit) - we will leave just like Vietnam. It's just a matter of how much money we piss away and how many brave young Americans we let get slaughtered for oil before we leave. We don't even care for our brave soldiers that come home in peices with dignity - living in rat and cockraoch infested slums like animals without medical care for months and years if ever.

We leave orphaned innocet Iraqi children on concrete floors living in their own excrement starving; widowed Iraqi women driven to prostitution in Syria and Jordan to survive, and a horses ass of a draft dodging President conducting the chorus.
