The Dog Goes in the Car

Many of the American Presidential candidates have provided me with chuckles over the past couple months.

Mike Gravel and the Rock
Hillary's creepy fake smile
Rudy vs God

The most funny moments happen during the campaign, but sometimes a candidate's past is unearthed and they are forced to answer to events that happened years ago. For example Obama talked to Leno about inhaling marijuana: "That was the point" - an honest answer if I ever heard one.

But this next story about our favorite Mormon candidate is more disturbing than magical underpants. ABC has a four page story about this one.

It may sound like a scene from Chevy Chase's "National Lampoon's Vacation." Mom and Dad pack their five boys into a white Chevy station wagon, load the luggage into the back, strap the dog to the top of the car and begin the annual family road trip from Boston to their summer home in Ontario.

Wait: Strap the dog to the top of the car?

Actually, it's not a movie. It's the true story of Mitt Romney's 1983 family vacation, according to an article in Wednesday's Boston Globe.

According to Romney, the dog "loved it." I dunno, maybe the dog did? 12hrs in a cage on a car roof, sounds like a blast.
