Mitt Romney Used to Make a Living From Porn
The title of this post might seem a little misleading, but it's not really. He literally made money from porn. You can read about it here. For the record, I don't care at all. But as usual with Republicans, it's the hypocrisy that drives people crazy. Romney calls pornography a "cesspool" then turns around and takes it to the bank.

1. You characters make money bullshitting & misleading Readers and seem to have no regrets. So what's the big deal about Romney??

2. Title misleading? You bet. Being on the board of directors of Marriott is a long, long way from making money from porn. I work in a gas station. The gas station sells Playboy and Hustler. Do I therefore "make money from pornography"? Nope. Most people work for a big corporation that somewhere along the line does something morally objectionable, but that doesn't make them responsible for it. Cenk shows videos on YouTube. I'll bet that somewhere on YouTube there's a pornographic video or two, so that means that "Cenk makes money from pornography." What a stupid accusation!

3. Wow, you're really reaching with this one. I bought gas for my car, does that mean I helped spill the oil from the Exxon Valdez?

4. The hypocrisy charge is valid here. Certainly the Mormon Church does not sanction use of alcohol or porn for its members, but a substantial bit of Marriott's financial success comes from the sale of these items. The justification for this activity is that this parts "sinners" from their money which is then used to further the cause of the Latter Day Saints. This is the same justification for economic activity at the Temple that made Jesus Christ go ballistic. It's a murky morality at play here. Is Romney really concerned about morals like he portrays himself? Probably not. He seems more interested in generating strong financial returns. If you want a business man running the country, he is worth considering. If you want a righteous man of great moral standing, then gimme a break.

5. Digging deep aren't you?
Glad I am not running for public office, since I share a house with three felines, I am sure some left or right wing radical could turn that into "Independent candidate from north Texas runs cat house".
A lie is a lie, call it spin if you will, but it is still a lie. This is where so many Americans fall off into some pit of disillution, which turns to radical rage. You may have done this toungue in cheek, but there are people who will fall hook line and sinker for it.
Your (young turks) voice is heard from coast to coast, and because of AOL over the world, you owe it to your readers and listeners to project the same standards you would put on the likes of Rush the motor mouth.

6. The point is...He stated he didn't know about it. My Mom is in her 80's, "conservative" to say the least, and knows there is porn on TV in hotel rooms.
In just about any position you would work in for almost any industry you would know if porn was being sold.

7. I am sure the honorable Mitt Romney the first Mormon the man to run for President and the man that signed into law in Mass to make same sex marriage legal would ever make a dime from porn and as forest would say thats all I got to say about it

8. "As usual with Republicans"?
How about "As usual with most politicians in general in any country"? They all play the same game.
Honestly, with that kind of blissfully ignorant view of things, you shouldn't be blogging about politics in the first place.
And Romney may be playing off knowing about it, but even if he did (most likely), he wouldn't have had the power to get rid of it even if he wanted to. He was merely a single board member. I don't know why he just doesn't own up to that, but most politicians wouldn't... especially conservative candidates. They have to play the game a certain way to get ahead in that party.

10. Does it really come as a surprise that Mitt Romney is a porn producer? With all those wives he has to keep them busy somehow!

13. Boy, this is really a stretch. Man is this what liberal talk radio is about? No wonder no one listens. First off, Marriott was founded by Mormons, so it's no big surprise that Romney is or was on the board of directors. Secondly, have you ever seen porn at a Marriott? What a joke, It's porn, I guess, but all the good parts have been cut out. You don't see anything. It's highly edited to the point to where it's almost like MTV. Common Turk, you've got to bring the noise if you're going to survive in this business. Otherwise, you're headed the way of Al Franken.
I give you another two months, tops.

If you work at the front desk of a Marriott, that's true. If you are on the board of directors and determine what services you will offer in your hotel, including whether porn will be sold on your television sets, that makes you responsible for it being there and responsible for the profits your business makes from it. Learn the difference between employees and management.
That said I don't really care if he made money off of porn. Really if someone has a problem with a person watching porn in the privacy of their hotel room, you've got to be a serious fascist. Someone putting porn on a kid's show? Of course that's unacceptable. But saying that even couples or individual adults shouldn't be watching it on their own time in their own place is just crazy.
