32. Michael Moore reports the facts. We do have some wonderful doctors here, especially in the larger cities, but if one doesn't have the right insurance card, it can take a lot of red tape to get seen by one. How much can one person, who is already ill, fight the system?
Especially important in the film was the doctor who actually testified that she turned a person down for surgery that could have saved the person's life. She felt guilty but shouldn't we take on some of that guilt and be motivated to change the health care system so that it is equitable?
Please, no human being wants to see someone die because of an HMO administrative decision.

37. I do not think MM is ranting, I think he is fed up as many of us are about the wholesale campaign of deceipt that this current administration has engaged in since they came to power. The meida is shameless in their devotion to their corporate masters about what is determined to be news. Gone are the days where many journalists could provide detailed reports on the variety of issues that affect our lives daily. yes there are individuals that do report now and then on matters of substance. I think of Lisa Meyers on NBC, and a few others but I tend to think thta the media in general has not doing its job in critically reviewing the Bush Administration. I think thta most of this criticism should fall on the editorial leaders in this country and to the owners of the media conglomerates. They have reduced their hard news sections to push for more infotainment divisions. But yes, we the public do have our responsibility and we need to demand the media cover the real issues and threaten to turn off or not buy the media that does not respond to our requests for real news.

41. In "Sicko," Michael Moore makes an insurance company look evil for refusing to pay a claim for an experimental gastric by-pass procedure.
First of all, the insurance company refused to pay, because the patient's employer decided that its coverage woulnd't pay for experimental procedures or any gastric by-pass procedures. The insurcance company was merely following the wishes of its customer, the employer. If anyone is to be labeled evil, it's the employer.
Second, neither the patient nor the physician bother to contact the insurance company prior to performance of the procedure to determine if it was covered. A simple phone call would have avoided the patient being on the hook for the hospital and doctor bills.
These are things that Michael Moore likes to leave out of his movies. They're called facts.

42. Mr. Moore is 100% Right!!! I happen to have voted for Bush and went along with all this bull about the war, but this only shows that all the American people have been duped once again!!! We need a new party in this country and maybe a new government that will not lie and lead us down these paths to no where!
I am an Ex-Republican, and I would vote for Michael Moore for president before any of the JERKS from BOTH parties!!!!!

A recent study of the numbers he hyped in his movie about health care indicated some of his "facts" were FACTUALLY innccurate, or, worse, deceptive or misleading. He does the SAME thing others do, bend the truth to fit HIS vision and version of reality. GET A LIFE. He is a capitalist who has found yet another way to make a dollar off the wretched poor, because he knows you LOVE paying out good money to have someone tell you that the reason you are poor or sick or in some way unhappy is EVERYONE ELSE'S FAULT AND RESPONSIBILTY.
