This inspired a blog post by Michael Moore titled: CNN vs The Facts. (Here's an additional article from CNN.)
Below is Moore pumping his fist at main stream media.
Minor Hat tip to Blitzer... for letting Moore rant. Vote up this clip if you enjoyed it.
Possibly the best plea to the Main Stream Media since Jon Stewart went on Crossfire.
*Update: Micheal Moore Debates Sanjay Gupta on Larry King - July 10th. Watch it here.

61. For one thing, I think all Americans, Republican or Democratic should be able to agree that all children should be able to recieve free universal health care because no child should have to die from cancer or other diseases because their parents are unable to afford it. In Sicko, a mom disscused the time when her 18 month old baby died because the insurance company would not approve the medicine she needed to save her life. No child deserves to be treated like that in the best country on the face of the earth and I think its time people start to realize that.

62. Wow!! I agree it's a lack of education that creates such negative dialog...I've followed Michael Moore's films and he totally documents places to prove his findings....Yes...I'm not a blogger but I'm very pleased with this generation's (I'm in my 50's) way of saying we don't need the propoganda spewed from so-called news stations today...show them where the power is kids!!!!

63. I believe that anyone wishing to comment publicly on something like a book or movie should have to take and pass a quiz on the content of the movie beforehand. I am sick of self-righteous people parrot talking points of view based on opinions of others or on just pure bile.

64. Michael Moore has raised some valid points in both the Wolf Blitzer interview and his "Sicko" movie.
Moore may be onto something regarding mainstream media and its coziness to big industry. Most of mainstream media today is ownered by non-journalistic companies.

65. why is it that 47 million people in this country dont have health care? however there are 12 to 20 million illegals and guest workers in this country who get 100% medical care!

67. Bravo Michael,
love him or hate him he speaks much that is true about healthcare and about the media. I remember three years ago when he fired shots across the bow about the horrific conditions returning soldiers were subjected to at Walter Reed. It was largely ignored. Having worked at Walter Reed and being an MD myself I know much of what he says is true. We have the best health care available in the world but only a portion of our population can access it. Children, the poor and of late working class folk are SOL. We worry about the Government telling us what services we can have...news flash!!...the manage care companies and insurance companies are doing that already. I look at medicare and think the govenment does a decent job there. I would rather have medicare than be under my current HMO anyday of the week! Just yesterday a pt was refused hospitalization because in the mind of the none MD on the other end of the phone the pt wasn't yet psychotic enough. Who do you believe the MD, or the flow chart reader without medical training. What constitutes crazy enough...another Va Tech incident. We need to wake up and stop listening to the hired guns and the suits who will profess anything so long as the price tag has sufficient zeros.

68. You are spot-on tsullivan #6! You took the words right out of my mouth. If people educated themselves beyond what information the tv provides, a whole new world would appear to them before their very eyes.

69. Michael Moore is a big dumb loudmouth asshole who the wackos believe, for some unknown reason.. I think he'd be great in politics considering he never answers anything direct and speaks nothing but bullshit.. Fox tells the news unbiased and the way it is.. Trouble is you Bush haters can't stand the truth.. What a laugh, another 8 years of the Clintons .. At least the action will pick up and should be fun, though nothing will be accomplished for the people.. Wonder if Hillary will try out the pages too?? I think the media is as much to blame or even more than the self-serving Congress for our position in the World.. If people like fat Michael Moore don't like the US, then get the hell out and go bother someone else..

70. MM is right. I'm a retired soldier and have several friends either dead or seriously wounded from this mess in Iraq. It's really time we all (Americans)realize we've been lied to. T.Sullivan comments about doing your own research and not depending on the media to educate you is dead right. Let's make changes based on the truth and what's best for us as American and not blow with the wind of our political party.

71. Michael Moore is just a male version of Rosie O'Donnell.

72. ugh. bottom line, the state of healthcare in this country is bad. michael moore should not be the issue here. people need to wake up and see the big picture here. some info: Merck's campaign "one less" implies that each woman who receives a Gardasil vaccination will be on less victim of cervical cancer. However, this idea of sure protection against cervical cancer is not only untrue but dangerous. Gardasil prevents infaction by only four of the more than 100 strains of the HPV virus. ever hear of DES babies? maybe in 20 years we'll find out that Gardasil wasn't so great because it causes cancer or birth defects in the offspring of the girls or women who were given the injection. this country is run by the following knuckleheads: hollywood, the bible belt, drug companies, and Wal-Mart. we're all doomed if we don't stand up for what we believe in.

73. I am a Democrat who thinks Michael Moore does not represent the majority of us. He could stay with the truth and make an impact but one over the edge accusation takes away his credibility. I do applaud him for his health care documentary. We certainly need to change this country's health care system.

74. All you ignorant people that are putting MM down are just a bunch of followers believing everything that the media feeds you. If you want to back something up and not what you see on the news you would find out that the media stretches and exaggerates on all their news stories for ratings. You all need to do your own research and get the facts straight before you start brining a man that already did his.

75. I always liked MM, and felt he looked at the issues really fairly. He is the ONLY movie director who goes to the source, Washington, and does things like stop senators and asks them to sign their sons or daughters up for the Iraq war. They run from him. Ha. He is polite but to the point. He knew from the onset the war was wrong, and though I like CNN especially compared with Fox, and not sure what he is referring to, as I missed the references to F911, I'm sure he knows and is right. The issue #1 IS the war, and we cannot fix healthcare until we stop the war and bleeding our country of all the billions we are spending regularly. We are only destroying a country and we brought Al Queda into a country that had never seen it. Yes, he may be an 'instigator' but we sure do need on. Rail on MM!! I'm listening. pat
