Rant of the Day: The Vitters Should Apologize to the Clintons
David Vitter -- before he got caught having an affair with a prostitute -- said that Bill Clinton was "morally unfit to govern." Does the conservative, Republican Senator from Louisiana now feel the same way about his own adultery (and many years of subsequent cover-ups)? Or would he like to apologize to Bill Clinton for what he said?
He also said that President Clinton should resign because of the "mess" he's created. Does he feel the same way about his own mess?
I think anyone in the state of Louisiana would be crazy to vote for a gigantic hypocrite like Senator Vitter, unless he admits that he has changed his ways and now understands that people's private lives are their own business and that he should have never commented on Bill Clinton's sexual relationships or his cover up of it, since was guilty of the same thing at the same time. We're waiting.
Senator Vitter's wife also felt quite self-proud at the time of the Clinton affair. She said back then, "I'm a lot more like Lorena Bobbitt than Hillary [Clinton]. If he does something like that, I'm walking away with one thing, and it's not alimony, trust me."
Trust me? Interesting. Is Mrs. Vitter planning any staff cuts around the senator's office?
No, it looks like she forgave him after all the tough talk. It looks like judging people is a little harder when the shoe is on the other foot. So, will Wendy Vitter be apologizing to Hillary Clinton for implying she was weak for not ending her marriage or cutting off her husband's genitalia? Which one is it, will Mrs. Vitter follow through on her tough talk or apologize to Senator Clinton for running off her mouth about the Clinton's private affairs? We're waiting.

1. guess vitter should have put a deadbolt on them skeletons in his closet. well, as we all see, the hyprocrits are now "swallowing" its own words....haha. that is why you should "not judge, less ye be judge". guess they forgot to read that part of their bible before they got on that podium of self-Rightiousness.
but as for apologizing...we all know that is not going to happen. should he...well, that is...if he is man enough. but will he...no.

2. Vitter apologize to Clintons and Maddam apologizes to "Hustler" magazine features woman as sex objects so "Maddam" makes money off women having sex with government public servants. And, Washington Post get headline news story on moral decay of U.S. Congressmen.

3. 'Birds do IT, bees do IT even educated fleas do IT' but far right, repressive born again's claim never to do IT, with exceptions.
Oh my gosh, bless his heart, David V got caught with his pants down and wallet in hand. Mr. father of four, far right I'm more moral than thou, who has since found God, confessed to Wendy his wife, after hiding all sharp objects and putting a lock on the inside of his new sleeping quarters.
All those bashing poor Bill, who at least never paid for IT. Had he done so those girls might have kept their mout-----oopsie, errr, ummm, might have never squealed---err, well, might not have ratted....
According to the latest report DV had Tuesdays and Thursdays set aside for his stress relief requirements at yet another place of XXX.
David and the still Mrs. V might well consider a further public humiliation of asking forgiveness from the Clintons, especially since the Vitters are oh so Christian...After all, this is just too much of an embarASSment.
Vitter should put his money where his mout---oopsie, no can't say that, might be deemed too double entondre`, in any case he should stand behind his earlier statement and step down since we know he is always a man of his word.
Let this be a lesson to all; those who live in glass houses should not stow thrones.

4. The sinner Republicans need to believe in God and be faithful to their wives. Not to find God and their wives after they've "sin".
For aplogy.
Not only that Mr Vitter needs to apologize to the Clintons. His wife also owes Hillary Clinton an apology.

5. The bible talks of a wagging tongue, it talks of having a log in your eye while pointing out the splinter in another's eye. Odd how the far right only picks what they wish to use as a weapon in the bible.
The more these righteous cats fall the more I know why I registered as independent. You think maybe the founding fathers were on to something when they ask we separate church and state?
I know a joke that fits in so well here, but I would lose my AOL account if I told it. The joke was about a deacon pointing his finger in a drunks face telling him he was damned to hell, the drunk remarked well deacon your going to hell too, because your finger smells like ,,,,,,, you fill in the blanks.

6. Did David Vitter lie in court? Did he break the law over and over? No. He did not. He was never accused of rape like Clinton. How dare you question Vitter or even suggest he is Bill Clinton. Did order a bombing run to cover-up his perjury? NO!! He did not. Did he sin etc. Yes. But he is no Clinton. Did he pardon 140 people including terrorists? You people will make excuses for this sex crazed "rapists" all the way to the end. Clinton (bill) will be in the news again. Mark my words and this date.

7. For some reason religious people have to be perfect. Even though their persecutors are often the worst deviants around.
This guy got caught and admitted it. And he was promoting a business venture for a woman that needs money.
Bill Clinton had sex with an opportunistic, homely fat girl, left DNA, and still lied about it. He lied to every American person and did it right to your face. Essentially showing you exactly how much he cares about this country and its people. As a result of his repeatedly proven lies he was impeached.
I could picture Billy boy going after those 13-14 year old displaced Iraqi prostitues then not paying them. probably have a cop on a camel apprehend them first. I see no difference between Bill Clinton and Sadaam Hussien. Except Sadaam was better looking and more likeable.

8. Vitter should apply for a position in the Bush Whitehouse. He wouldn't need to worry about commiting a few sins now and then. If he did he'd have his sentencing commuted by shaggy Bush. Cheney will need to decide if he is part of the legislature or the administration, but he has an opening, I'm told

9. #6 Dave - get some help dude. At no time did Bill Clinton get accused of raping anyone. I suggest you watch what you say. Yes, what Bill CLinton did was wrong. He lied under oath and he paid dearly for it. How has Vitter paid anything, except his come to Jesus "I'm sorry" moment.
If Clinton is a liar, so is Vitter - he lied EVERY day he served in the house and senate knowing he had frequented a prostitute. Not only that, this idiot preached piously about morals and values continuously. Sure, he's sorry now - because he got caught. Only a neocon like you Dave would give a pass to this hypocrite. Largely because you are one yourself.

10. Poster 6:
"Did David Vitter lie in court?"
Vitter didn't go to court because he, apparently, did a better job covering his tracks. As Poster 3 pointed out, he did actually pay his partners.
"Did he break the law over and over?"
Only if you, like most lawmakers, consider purchasing the "services" of a prostitute a crime.
"He was never accused of rape like Clinton."
(A)Accusation of criminal activity =/= the execution of criminal activity.
(B)Clinton being acused of rape has no bearing on the fact that David Vitter is guilty of--repeatedly-- engaging in the same activity for which he so vocally slammed Clinton, making him a terrible hypocrite.
Red herrings and character assassination: a staple of GOP politics?
"Did order a bombing run to cover-up his perjury? NO!! He did not."
Causation vs. Correlation: the two events happening around the same time does not in any way mean the two events are related. After all, *I* certainly didn't forget the president was on trial because bombs started falling on the other side of the world, did you?
More slanderous (and completely irrelevant) accusations. I shouldn't be surprised.
"...he is no Clinton."
No, he's a Vitter. No one is confused about his identity. The point of the article is: the Vitters, whose statements made it quite clear that they wanted the country to recognize that they "were no Clintons", got caught with their pants down (almost literally) in the exact same situation they showed no hesitation commenting on.
"Did he pardon 140 people including terrorists?"
Is Vitter in a position to do so? No. Vitter wields nothing like the power Clinton used to. Don't confuse an inability to take action with a lack of desire to take action; plenty of the GOP have been getting an unfamiliar taste of justice lately.
"You people will make excuses for this sex crazed "rapists" all the way to the end."
I'm not saying Clinton was a great man. I'm not even saying I agree with his presidency. I'm saying the man who made a point to take holier-than-thou stance on the matter of Clinton's infidelities has turned out to be doing the exact same thing. I think he DOES owe the Clinton's an apology--and the people for leading them on so. Ditto Mrs. Vitter unless she divorces and castrates Mr. Vitter, as she all but said she would if she were ever in the same position as Hilary.

11. You tell them Chairman Meow! Let's not forget about Newt, Delay and countless other whom have not been caught yet!! But hey, all we need is a little more time.
Vitter, what a bitter pill you will have to swallow now. I JUST LOVE IT!!!
THE GOP, the party of family values and morality and religion all rolled up into one big hypocrite ball!!!

12. Thank you all for setting "Dave the Moron" straight about his Clinton slander! I cannot stand ignorant people! Get your facts straight! I live in Louisiana; Vitter's philandering ways are NOT news to those of us who live and vote in S. Louisiana! We have known about these indiscretions and the fact that he is a raving, hypocritical ASS who would sell out his mother for a vote for a LONG, LONG time. Another sick example of right-wing, conservative hypocrisy at its best! Anyone else sick of seeing the GOP excuse moral infidelity, war-mongering, racism (recent Supreme Court school segregation rulings and immigration reform), etc. become okay, but God forbid the former president get consensual oral sex! His bj never got 3000+ innocent service men/women and countless innocent civilians killed! Let the impeachment ceremonies begin! I'M WAITING!

13. His immorality doesn't explain or excuse Clintons. Anyone who can’t control themselves is unfit for public office.
JEFF at 8:33AM on Jul 13th 2007
14. Are you kidding? This hypocrisy is putrid. And honestly, I'd certainly like to know who the other people were on the Madame's list. Sen. Vitter's behavior, especially his condemnation of Fmr. Pres. Clinton, is shameful. I don't care about either man's sex life. It's none of my business! But a guy as dishonest as Sen. Vitter should not be trusted in our nation's legislature. Am I right?
john at 8:19PM on Jul 12th 2007
15. I agree that Vitter is a damn hypocrite. I wouldnt vote for him either. But then again i wouldn't vote for Bill. I know many here are blaming the entire GOP but i can tell you one thing im a moderate Republican and i dont agree with what this guy did. So don't blame all of us. I didn't blame the entire Democratic party for Kerry botching up his joke that made it sounded like he was making fun of the troops, and i sure as hell didnt blame the Democratic party for Clintons little escapade in the White House. Both parties have bad apples and both parties need to clean out the vermin. If Vitter accused of Clinton of immoral activity then he needs to either apologize or get out. I'm tired of the ignorance and hypocrisy of both parties. Who wants to start a party of actually honest, moral, understanding people who know how to control their urges? I know i want to. Need a name tho.
