"They Ran Out of People to Kill"

Here is how one US intelligence officer explained the reason why sectarian killings are down in Iraq:

"Now that the Sunnis are all gone, murders have dropped off. One way to put it is they ran out of people to kill."

This Washington Post piece explains how the real threat in Iraq is the Mahdi Army and the other Shiite militia and how Al Qaeda is a much smaller problem comparatively. Even Michael Hayden, the head of the CIA, put Al Qaeda as only the fifth largest threat in Iraq, behind general anarchy (he also called the damage in Iraq "irreversible").

4. I'm not knowledgable enough to have a worthwhile opinion, however, I do think it's very sad that some bloggers feel it necessary to be cruel and crude. All they are doing is perpetuating the concept of "Ugly Americans." I definitely don't want to see "ethnic cleaning" anywhere in the world, but I do think that it seems as though it has been going on in the Middle Eastern countries for hundreds, even thousands of years. I also think it's sad that most wars are perpetuated by fundamentalist belief systems. Then again, so are groups like the KKK and Skin Heads. In reality it's not over "getting into heaven" or a belief that it's "God's will" to commit these kinds of attrocities. I honestly believe it is the self-centered egos of men (and sometimes women) who are looking for ways to push their own agendas. Killing people for thinking and feeling differently is NOT God's will! I seriously don't see this kind of senseless inhumanity ending anytime during my or my children's lifetimes and unless God performs a miracle and manifests a change in the way people deal with their differences and help them to realize that people are fundamentally and universally more alike than they realize, then I think that this will continue on for hundreds and thousands MORE years.

9. EVERYONE!!!! Listen to the Young Turks, they know what they're talking about. They know what ethnic cleansing is. After all, they are the Masters of the art. Even though Cenk forgot to mention how they systematically tried to erase the Armenians in 1915, then the people of Cypress in his article "quiet ethnic cleansing". So when it comes to ethnic cleansing...they know a thing or two.

Cenk, I think YOU guys ran out of people to kill so YOU are writing articles like this one. You could have learned a thing or two from the famous journalist Hrant Dink, a world famous Armenian Journalist in Turkey, but YOUR people dicided to assassinate him too.
