...Oh and yes in 2005 Bill O'Reilly DID suggest that terrorists should "Go Ahead" and blow up the Coit Tower in San Francisco. Chris Dodd was incorrect Bill said that on the "Radio Factor" not the "O'Reilly Factor." Does this error make Chris Dodd a propagandist like Bill suggested?

Mo Rocca appears on a bunch of shows, including CBS News Sunday Morning (with the indescribably wonderful Charles Osgood), The Tonight Show on NBC, and NPR's Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! He's a sometime judge on Iron Chef and was featured on Telemundo's Amore Descarado. Last year he starred on Broadway in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. His expose "All the President's Pets" was published by Crown in 2004.

Check out BO's web commentary and submitted responses. there you will right-wing BS,too. Blogs serve as a forum for discussion and debate. POVs are as intelligent, vicious or reasonable as their authors.
Dodd was attempting to interject the concept of balance. the rule governing debate is point vs counterpoint. BO follows no rules in "debate" excepting his own.

50. California would be better off without washington in my view. They have the 4th largest economony in the world. If O'Reilly wants to cut off fed funds to CA for not allowing the military in schools, CA can stop paying taxes to the Fed goverment. Bush doesn't care about losing $10 billion in Iraq, why should he care about losing fed tax $$$ from CA.

Why is there an ongoing argument over global warming on this board? The sun is warming up every planet in our solar system. Please don't make me feel responsible for the temperature increase on Jupiter.
Out of every 100,000 molecules in our atmosphere, a total of 36 represent CO2. If we do not recognize the validity of the doomsday crowd and all start living green, in five years the CO2 number is expected to rise to 37 molecules per 100,000. This troubles me. We cannot continue to let this number soar.

I bet Bill O'Reilly has done more than anyone on this site to protect kids from predators by confronting judges who give weenie sentenaces to these perverts and pushing states to pass Jessica's Law which my state finally did. Think carefully. Have any of you done anything more significant than this? If so, I apologize.
Secondly, I know you hate Fox but there must be a reason that O'Reilly is the most watched cable news program in the country. Fox is killing all of the competition. Why? They have given this country an alternative to the ho hum liberal drivel that used to be the norm. Liberals are going to have to get a whole lot smarter or pass some ridiculous law to make the news programs give them equal time because the people of this country sure aren't watching ABC, NBC, and the like.
As for hate, there are equal numbers of hate filled folks on both sides of the issue. We are all humans but have differing views on how to solve problems in the world.

56. I watch Bill O'Reilly and I Read the Daily Kos. I sometimes get very irritated by both of them. As far as the Cartoon Bill O'Reilly harped on so badly, I have seen worse come from conservative E-Mails. What really irritates me is the fact that all the news outlets have become entertainment and do not report news.
An example, everything I have read or seen on Global Warming I slanted to one side or the other. I don't think there is any doubt the earth is warming. There is some question as to the small amount of CO2 we produce contributes anything close as the natural sources such as volcanoes, farm animals etc. But if we are the cause, then we better start doing something ASAP.

News is supposed to be "ho hum." It should be the factual reporting of events with any additional commentary derived from eyewitnesses or experts.
What you have with Fox News is tawdry infotainment. Sensationalized news dripping in the personal opinions of the people who are reporting it. Commentary about the events should be saved for the opinion segments, but Fox reporters and anchors can't seem to keep their mouths shut regarding what they think or keep their cute/snide/dumb comments to themselves. These little comments along with the bombastic opinion shows (which take up all of the rest of the time on Fox) make the news entertaining, especially for people who agree with them. I am also entertained, but only in the same way that I am "entertained" by a car wreck. It's fascinating to watch, but it makes me sick to my stomach.
The reason why Fox news is so popular is because people are a sucker for entertainment and Fox delivers in spades.
It is not news and it is definitely not "Fair and Balanced."
I bet you didn't even know you were "bored" with the news until Fox came along and told you that you were. I bet you didn't even think that the press had a "liberal bias" until Rush and then Fox came along and told you that it did. Then everyone listening/watching became a bobble-head for the conservatives and started voting yourselves into the poorhouse. Because they got you on all of the "scary" social issues like gays and abortion and *gasp* immigrants so because you hated these things/people so much you voted all of your jobs away, voted for people who care more about corporations and money than you, the voter, and you keep on bobbing your head along as if in a trance.
Well good job. That's what advertising, especially the netertaining kind, does. It tells you what to think. Especially if you are too lazy to look up the facts for yourself.
I prefer to get my news from in-depth reporting of the issues and then research the claims made for myself instead of just memorizing talking points and letting myself get riled up by sound bite commentary like this poor fella apparently did.

Thinking people don't get their news primarily from any of the cable news networks, but Fox is the fermented and rotting cream of the crop.

60. I heard the radio feed and find that it is not what Jeff Hoard reports. O'Reilly did not call for the bombing of a tower in SF, CA by terrorists. He did epress outrage at official disrespect for our troops fighting overseas.
The daily KOS should be censured by democrats for not monitoring the hate speech and classism directed toward others on the site. the fact that dems do not condemn these violent utterings is sad.
