I can't take them anymore. Democrats keep calling Bush the worst president in US history and then they keep voting with him. At the end of last week, they just allowed Bush to retroactively make his violations of the FISA law legal. They are the worst!
I'm way beyond the Republicans. All they ever do is rubberstamp the awful policies of this administration and I wouldn't vote for them in a million years (or at least twenty, until they cleaned up the party). But the Democrats are supposed to be opposition party. They are supposed to care about our rights and the constitution. But, of course, for most of them, they don't. They just care about their own power.
In this video I explain why Democrats keep voting with Republicans. In this article I explain what a terrible capitulation the vote on this FISA bill was. And in this article I rip Hillary and Obama a new one for being completely AWOL on this issue. If Bush is the worst president in history and you've done nothing to fight back, what does that make you?
Well, I'll show you what it makes you. A reader on Daily Kos put up this absolutely great video that explains what the Democrats are perfectly:
There you have it. It's funny and it's incredibly sad at the same time. Will someone step up and lead already?! Or do we have to settle for these schleps that can hardly stay on their feet long enough to oppose this out of control administration?

17. American should wake up whether your are a democrat or republican. Our Governmentt mostly democracts are supporting illegal immigrants and giving them your tax dollars. People who have never worked a day for it get free food, free medicine, free housing , and jobs Americcan can't get. To me next to the war is the most important issue , do we give our country to Mexico? aer do we stand up and tell our representative no moree hand-outs to criminals who have crossed our borders, stole social security numbers and with them gotten phony drivers license. please give thought thought to this because it could well change our country forever.

19. Wow! Land of the Free, Home of the Brave indeed!!!!
Are we so scared of terrorism that we are willing to give-up our freedom?
I am sure that we are smart enough to find ways to fight terrorism without sacrificing our Democracy.
Because not only is Freedom NOT FREE ... it is also NOT DUMB!!!!!
We the people need to 'pony-up' pay our taxes and fix our crumbling country.
Our bridges are falling, our schools are failing, our servicemen and women are dieing, one-third of us are under-insured, one-tenth of us have no health insurance at all ... the list goes on.
Our enemies don't have to do anything to us ... we're destroying ourselves with an efficiency that they could only dream of.
I'm all for standing behind our President ... but when a president begins to dismantle the very foundation our what our country stands for ... NO!!!
"We the people" must stand up, raise our voices and say STOP!
THAT is our duty as members of this elite group called "We the people."
You say we need to be UNITED ... I agree ... stand with Democracy against those who seek to destroy it.

20.
The Democrats are only interested in retaining power, and I have voted for them nationally for over 20 years. No more. They no longer stand for constitutional rights, the middle class and the poor in America, rather they have sold out to their corporate sponsors as the Farm Bill clearly shows.
To all of the " I don't care if the President listens in on my calls" crowd, if that is philospophy, why is Bush refusing to let his people testify before Congress and why is he refusing to provide the documents if he has nothing to hide?
cdnbirch at 2:31PM on Aug 7th 2007
21. So, who are we voting for come next election??
There is no "Left." There are only Liberals (ie. centrists sell-outs) and Republicans (ie. fascist sell-outs).
Both sides are looking out for their party ... no one is looking out for the people. Our middle class is being sold to the Chinese and Indians. Our health care is being sold to greedy corporations making billions in profits. America is being sold to the highest bidder. And we Americans are letting it happen.

""I can't take them anymore. Democrats keep calling Bush the worst president in US history and then they keep voting with him"".
Cenk,
The Democrats are a party of followers. They follow the Republicans everywhere. They only voted with Bush because he gave them some minor pork barrel goodies.
As far as the worst president in American history is concerned, Jimmy Carter has that title and he is a Democrat. And nothing, absolutely nothing will ever change Carter's legacy. The only way American History can be kind to Carter is to never mention his name.
I agree with Nancy Pelosi about needing to drain the swamp. But, I'd like to add the American people need to drain the swamp because Pelosi, along with Harry Reed, Murtha, Ted Kennedy and John Kerry are some of the congressional refuse that will splat out on the pavement.

23. I see people moaning that this country should only tolerate one political view and that people who support a different view are "ruining the country." That's better known as fascism, not democracy. Too many Americans forget that; the democratic process allows for differences of opinion. It would be different if everyone agreed; clearly they don't. The current two-party system may seem dysfunctional, but adding another choice would still be part of the democratic process; eliminating all choices would be destroying it.

24. "The worst President in history?" Who's history?
Are you too young to remember Jimmy Carter? LBJ?
When you say a totally bogus statement like that it discredits the rest of what you might have had to say but I didn't bother read.
dave at 3:12PM on Aug 7th 2007
25. First, how does anyone think Hillary will get elected? They may poll out the kazoo, but I know too many women who will crawl out of their deathbed to vote against her. And how demeaning that the first woman president has to get there on her husband name, not her own.
And what's so wrong with Edwards. He palatable to the southern Republicans who can stomach Guiliani and the Morman Romney. So he has the best chance to get real votes from the most people (Stupid racists or deep thinking voters)!
Wake up to reality people.

26. The bottom line is: we have not had a domestic terror attack in the U.S. since 9/11. As irritating as Bush is, he still has that fact on his side. That is why Congressmen from both parties are letting him lead, even though Bush's policies are very questionable.
It sounds horrible to say it, but we may end up having another massive mainland attack in America before there is enough impetus created to go in a different direction than Bush is taking us. Barring another attack, I don't see either Hillary or Obama being determined or forceful enough to lead that policy shift while Bush is still in office.

27. I've never heard of the Young Turks, either. They sound incredibly ignorant and whiney.
I found the Fainting Goats video much more interesting.

28. Under Clinton, there wasn't a terrorist attack on U.S. soil from '93 through the rest of his term - over 7 years - a better record than George.
Fred, I throw a bannana peel out in my driveway every morning; so far, there has not been a single elephant sighting in my yard - proof positive of the eficacy of the peels.
dave at 5:52PM on Aug 7th 2007
29. Fred, I'm not sure that your premise is correct at all.
I truly believe that if there is another attack, things will only get worse ... our downward spiral into fascism will only hasten.
One of my first thoughts as I saw the second airplane fly into the World Trade, was that this administration, with its paranoid rhetoric, was going to exploit this and take us (our country) even further down the path toward a fascist state.
That thought was solidified as I picked up debris from the towers that had fallen on my front stoop and spoke with some of my more conservative neighbors. Their blind anger and fear thrashing about in all directions. It was all too much for me. I went downtown to try to volunteer with rescue and clean-up crews.
This downward spiral has been going on for some thirty years or so. (Don’t get me wrong, I do not think that it slowed down during the Clinton years.) But on that day, I saw the mechanism by which a savvy political advisor such as Rove could turn this into a rallying call ... I was correct ... am correct ... just listen to Guilianni. He mentions 9/11 every 5 secs. And crowds burst into a frenzy.
I don’t see another attack having a different outcome.

30. John Q:
It saddens me that you found mindless entertainment more interesting than political discourse. But that does underscore the biggest problem our country faces today (actually since its inception). Debate is dead. Instead we insult and debase.
Respond to the issues. I'm sure that if you make a good case, you can change some minds. But I know that you will not change anyone's mind by insulting them.
