They did it again. These Republicans are unbelievable. This time it's the head of Young Republicans nationwide. It's another gay sex scandal. This one is even more serious because it involves non-consensual sex.
Glenn Murphy Jr. is chairman of the Clark County Republican Party and was just elected president of the Young Republican National Federation. But now he has to give up his spot because of yet another gay Republican sex scandal. He claims it's because he mysteriously and suddenly got a business offer he couldn't turn down. Yes, I'm sure it had nothing to do with the investigation the police just started against you.
Get a load of what this guy did...
...he lowered the pants of a young man while he was sleeping and tried to give him oral. Come on! Are there no bounds? The other man was not interested, was not gay and was not even awake. But when he did wake up he pursued charges against Murphy.
This isn't even the first time for Murphy. He did almost the same exact thing back in 1998 to another young man. Back then the boy he accosted in his sleep was 21. This time around, the boy as 22. Murphy is 33. By the way, why is a creepy 33 year old guy the head of the Young Republicans? Especially one who already has a track record of trying to give guys oral while they're sleeping.
Are there any Republicans left in the country who are not gay or involved in a sex scandal? It doesn't seem like it anymore. I think I left the Republican Party just in the nick of time, while I still have my pants on.
Watch The Young Turks Here
PS -- We do a segment called Republican Sexcapades every Thursday on our show. And in over a year that we have been doing the segment, we have never run out of material. I honestly can't believe how many sex scandals there have been involving Republicans lately. It makes our job too easy, and too much fun.

31. God loves ALL people, whether gay or not. It's the SIN that's committed that God doesn't like.
Like many others have said, it's the fact that this man is a MOLESTER & A PERVERT that should be considered.
It doesn't matter what party he's affiliated with, he should be arrested and removed from his position.

32. We didn't hear Cenk saying anything when the ACLU lawyer was caught in the kiddy porn scandal. Cenk doesn't really mind gays or pedophiles- it's Republicans he hates. And now as Cenk so open-mindedly tells us: all Republicans are bad, sick, pedophiles! Ironically though, the male victims were older than Monica Lewinsky? Hmmmmm Cenk?
Keep your pants up Cenk- we know this is liberal pornography for you, and have a nice day!

33. The republicans support the lie of the rapture. They are not God's party. Christ will return as it is written. Rapture is a lie of the religious and political system. It keeps people ignorant of the events leading up to Christ's return.
They are teaching their followers to follow the anti-christ,not Jesus Christ.
Rapture is the goverment approved version of the endtimes,it is a satanic lie.

34. Josh,
You said "being gay is not a choice. How one lives with it is." This is not the type of comment I would expect a gay person to make, but I applaud that you have. I think it is unfortunate that we see people who are perceived as unique or different, with global characteristics, without individual views, and with no hope of redemption. Of the offense mentioned, some might say that is the way gays are, instead of saying that is the way this one gay person is. Just like not all hetero people rape. I have always felt there is value in knowing the history of a person, and in my dealings with people I try to remember that it is possible that an event in their lives that I have no knowledge of, may cause them to be angry or unhappy. And while it may be that this young man had experiences in his life that made him grow into a person who does not respect others, there is still little that can be done, until he does it himself. What he did was, indeed, a crime - and regardless of why he did it, or how he got there, punishment is appropriate. Thank you for your comments.

35. I am inclined to agree with Steve about party affiliation not having anything to do with this man's actions. Everyone should understand that Christians do not hate gay people. Neither does God. Not trying to make light of what the Bible states about homosexuality, we all need to understand that it is no different in the eyes of God than someone who lies, steals or cheats. We are all unholy and sinful. There are no exeptions. Jesus went to the cross to die for sinful man. It isn't as much a matter of what we have done as it is what we are. Carla, understand that Jesus loves all of we sinners. And David, God doesn't want there to be gay people anymore than He wants there to be liars. He doesn't make them, we make the choice. Its not God who decided that man sin, it was man. He loves us. Jesus died for us and is the only way the heart of man can change. He provided the way of salvation for all of us. We are the ones who make the decision. Once He changes our hearts, His love for others shows through us. Its not a religion, its a relationship.

38. (Note: due to my level of PO"edness my spelling maybe off in places please forgive me...LOL)
First off world....no one chooses to be gay! You are or you are not. Some people may choose to "try it" , but if you were born that way there is no choice. Secondly its all the politics of countries and "GOD" that keep people in the closet and sexually repressed in the first place. Third as a gay man I tired of hearing about how..."god didn't make me who I am"....so who did make me gay....wasn't me....I have been the way I am since birth....I didn't choose to be hated, or disliked, or judged....I just a gay baby born into one seriously messed up world. So to you jesus chrispies out there...why don't you ever practice what you preach?
From "faimly values" to "homosexuality" to "turn the other cheek" you guys/gals can't get anything right. And as far as the Republicans and the christian right are concerned....they might as well be the taliban. All they do is base their politics on religous or extremest fears and then depend on the weak minded members of their group to carry out their stupidity. Seems to me that the republicans and the christian right try to scare this country into doing what they think is right. Which is not right, and which is not the way that the founding fathers had indeed intended it to be. Also the last time I checked folks this country was based on religous freedom, and what is called a seperation of church and state. You know the idea... where religious bias stays out of the decision making process for the country...yea right...like that really happens. Though I guess it's not the only ideology that is under attack by the Republican and Christian Right..."life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness," seems to be right in the mix too. I can't be gay in public....equals no life. I guess I do get to experience liberty to a point....I have what freedoms a gay man is allowed by this government to have, but happiness. Please...when I can marry who I love, and yes I did say LOVE....(gays can fall in love too...it's not just for the breeders anymore). Then I guess I might be able to persue happiness to like the rest of america's citizens. But what scares me is what is next. If this country doesn't seperate it's religous beliefs and its politics soon we will be the next Isreal. There will be terrorists killing more innocent citizens in our streets, and promoting their own level of extremist politics. I guess what I am really trying to say is. We attack other people for their ultra religous political policies, but we are no better in most cases then they are. And I'm not saying this because I'm not an American or Patriotic, but because I am. I also wish that more people in this country would open their eyes to the real problems that are going on in the USA. Like poverty, heathcare, families being forclosed on, bridges collapsing at will, and I could go on but I think you get the point america. Though I guess it is more of a moral imparitive to bash and belittle gays and to force "democracy" on cultures that are not ready for it yet. Oops did I say democracy I really meant to say capitialism. Thats really why we are in Iraq right?

40. What? Were they sleeping in the same tent? Room? Bed? A quick nap at the office? HAHAHAHA sounds like a trap to me. They do it all the time. Also the "boy" was over 21! Sounds like a MAN to me. This is a personal matter, unless this happened in a public place like the playground. Grow up folks. And Carla, get some therapy and a little Jesus. His teachings will help you. Adults who go home with other adults are not "child molesters" do not confuse the two. Besides, get over the Republican/Democrat crap and wake up. Be better citizens all of you. I wish to note my maid is a Republican.
BigDan at 8:24AM on Aug 11th 2007
41. Carla's ignorance aside, I'd just like to say there's a difference between gay, and disturbed. You can keep Murphy. We don't want him!

42. Great. Another closet sausage swallower in politics.
T at 8:54AM on Aug 11th 2007
43. ummm.... Carla - how dare you speak like that. Telling someone to burn in hell goes way beyond bad. Telling gays to stay in the closet because YOU are tired of hearing about it is laughable.
I hope you enjoy the heat down there, lady. Shame on you.
justgayenough at 9:02AM on Aug 11th 2007
44. There is no God. Despite what religious people tell you, the earth has been in this solar system for millions of years. Everything that has happened here on Earth has an evolutionary logical reason. Gay people seem to serve as an evolutionary logical purpose to keep the population down. There are other theories for Gay people being as they are, such as hormonal changes during development in the uterus. But there is no reason to hate Gay people and discriminate against them.
David at 9:07AM on Aug 11th 2007
45. I think that the problem is that everyone is trying to impose their moral beliefs on the Gay and Lesbian population. Qouting GOD, means nothing to anyone including GOD. If you want to speak for God, why not try a real qoute that reflects the true nature of faith in the Lord.
