They did it again. These Republicans are unbelievable. This time it's the head of Young Republicans nationwide. It's another gay sex scandal. This one is even more serious because it involves non-consensual sex.
Glenn Murphy Jr. is chairman of the Clark County Republican Party and was just elected president of the Young Republican National Federation. But now he has to give up his spot because of yet another gay Republican sex scandal. He claims it's because he mysteriously and suddenly got a business offer he couldn't turn down. Yes, I'm sure it had nothing to do with the investigation the police just started against you.
Get a load of what this guy did...
...he lowered the pants of a young man while he was sleeping and tried to give him oral. Come on! Are there no bounds? The other man was not interested, was not gay and was not even awake. But when he did wake up he pursued charges against Murphy.
This isn't even the first time for Murphy. He did almost the same exact thing back in 1998 to another young man. Back then the boy he accosted in his sleep was 21. This time around, the boy as 22. Murphy is 33. By the way, why is a creepy 33 year old guy the head of the Young Republicans? Especially one who already has a track record of trying to give guys oral while they're sleeping.
Are there any Republicans left in the country who are not gay or involved in a sex scandal? It doesn't seem like it anymore. I think I left the Republican Party just in the nick of time, while I still have my pants on.
Watch The Young Turks Here
PS -- We do a segment called Republican Sexcapades every Thursday on our show. And in over a year that we have been doing the segment, we have never run out of material. I honestly can't believe how many sex scandals there have been involving Republicans lately. It makes our job too easy, and too much fun.

91. Hey Carla, you say "I hope all gay people burn in hell" is that how you think God wants you to act???
I think not!

92. Carla, Heaven isn't a place for perfect people. You have a place reserved for you where all perfect people go, that is called hell.

94. "They did it again"....This was one man's conduct, not a political party. I find this kind of slanderous accusation reprehensible. We are each accountable for our own actions period. So don't blame his parents, his teachers and especially his political affiliation.

95. Hey young turks... I think it's great that you enjoy scandals so much but why not stand up and scandalize something more important... like the level of unemployment or the health care issues, or even the education problems this country faces.
Why not be more open minded and stop attacking republicans? Democrats have had just as many problems but no one ridicules them because right now they are the "in" thing to be. I have considered myself a democrat not because of the "in" thing but because I believed in health care reform, educational reform, and doing things for this nation so that its people are taken care of. Don't you want that? if the answer is "yes", then stop disuniting the american people with this kind of scandal. Don't get me wrong it's good to know where some people stand but don't focus so much on disarming people or categorizing people into something when you know it's not a mayority. Furthermore, scandalize something that's worth fighting for or against.

96. Why should all of these closeted gay Republican scandals surprise anyone? After all, the Republican party is the party of choice for homophobes, and a University of Georgia study confirmed that closeted gays are more homophobic than truely straight men.

97. IF the Republican party did not throw stones they might not end up in the news so much. And how stupid is it to think that people choose to be gay. I am gay but let me assure you that I did not wake up one morning and decide I was gay. Looking back through my life I cannot find ONE time that I was EVER attrracted to the opposite sex. BUT boy I sure can recall walking into my sisters room every day to look at the poster fr Donnie Osmond. And I vividly recall looking at Playboy with my straight cousins and asking why they would want to see that. No stupid, its not a choice, its a gene.

98. Again I say, what do you expect. The GOP is the party of hypocrisy!

99. Gay straight what does it matter, this man was wrong and should be punished, gay by choice isnt even a choice who in there right mind would want to be gay by choice to be bashed by all the Bible thumping morons, who say gays are BAD.
This man needs to be locked up and get some major help not to be a speaker for the any of us, please dont hate gays because they dont make thge choice, just like straight people it in the jeans.

102. I refuse to believe that the god fearing bible thumping republicans are capable of such acts. I refuse to believe that giulianni is or was an adulterer, I refuse to believe that the current so called President bush was an alchoholic and cokehead. It can't possibly be true because I know that the republicans who daily preach family values and the evils of fornification and drug abuse would never commit these acts. The same goes for thou shall not kill I am very confident that those people in Iraq arent really dying its just not true.

103. Comment #60 jbjigsaw - I have noticed that too. My two cents worth: 1. This is a free country, anyone can have an opinion, or a belief in something or nothing; 2. Bible-thumping or quoting Christians are loathsome (I am a Christian, too) and I call them the Taliban of Christ, although they are so interesting to read because they have such ingenuous logic; 3. I accept homosexuals but (in my opinion) they are natural anomalies since they do not follow Darwinian rules about natural selection.
Humans are so interesting.

104. Maybe I have not read this story closely enough, but 21 and 22 year olds are not boys, they are adults. Legal and hopefully mature enough to allow or disallow such things. Where is the crime?
victor at 10:24AM on Aug 12th 2007
105. "102. Maybe I have not read this story closely enough, but 21 and 22 year olds are not boys, they are adults. Legal and hopefully mature enough to allow or disallow such things. Where is the crime?"-victor
The "crime", victor was the sexual assault. Forget the male-on-male aspect for a moment....just ask yourself what would happen to a man who pulled down the pants of a sleeping woman and attempted to perform oral sex on her.
