1. K, honestly this Don Imus has gone too far. Everyone who joined this battle aginst the terrible and mean Don Imus did so to better their own careers (Sharpton). I honestly have no idea why this was/is still a big issue, i honestly couldnt give a flying s--t what Don Imus says, so long as he doesnt use the n word.
In the words of John Mellemcamp,
"These are just words and words are okay
It's what you do and not what you say
If your not part of the future than get outta the way"
I think Imus was turned into a punching bag for Sharpton so that he could steal listeners and make a name for himself. Shame on you, Sharpton.

2. I think the Imus remark helped their career..Who knew them before the remark ???

3. I'm all about Don Imus now. Mostly because I'm all about free speech. Because the speech that really needs to be free is the speech that pisses people off.
Firing, aye, I can understand - because he was part of a company. Suing? No way.
And to those pissed off ones: Sticks and stones, people, sticks and stones.

4. The Rutgers student is going to be harmed more by dwelling on her "victimization" because of Imus' words, rather than the words themselves. It's likely that the young woman has a bunch of idiots around her telling her how bad the incident was and how she's "entitled" to damages because of what Imus "did" to them. It goes without saying that some of the advisors hope to profit directly or indirectly from a successful lawsuit. You've got to wonder how much some of these advisors and eggers-on really care about the student herself; her education; and her future.
You've also got to wonder how much time she's spending rehashing the incident with family, friends, and lawyers instead of fulfilling her graduation requirements and moving into the workforce. Anyone feel free to correct me if she is, in fact, doing well in her academics and vocational pursuits.
Filing a lawsuit (apparently the only student to do so) after accepting Imus' apology comes across as petty and petulant. It conditions this young woman to see herself more as a victim and as constantly vulnerable to the negative words and thoughts of others. That kind of mind-set, once established, is predictive of failure in life. The sad thing is that if she succumbs to depression and low self-esteem while going through this ugly process, Sharpton and the rest of the opportunists won't be around to help her then.

5. This young woman is now brewing more animosity to this issue. Everyone that listened to Imus knew his venues, nobody escaped it..I for one am looking forward to his return and hopefully he will have the same openness as before...Imus spologized and that should have been the end of it

6. If words mean nothing, then why are people moved to tears by the words in a poem, or the words in a song? There is power in the tongue, no matter if the words used are positive or negative.
If Don Imus sued CBS and received compensation for violating his contract, why shouldn't this young woman be compensated?

7. 8. Kia Don lost his job with CBS and he personally apologized to you and your teammates. There is a saying that says "If a person insults you and it isn't true then carry your cross and follow your Maker and the pain will go away."

12. WOnder how you all would feel if you were personally attacked on NATIONAL tv by being called a nappy headed ho, or stringy haired cracker trash, or italian sausage sucker. His remark was made directly to those particular women. Honestly, people have been brainwashed into thinking that the more similation they have to the white race the better off they are because this white based society can not accept them due to their physical chracacteristics. Suing is her right whether you agree with it or not. When he felt vilated by the network, did he not sue? Get grip people.

14. Nobody embraces vicimhood quicker and longer than a negro, particulary if he/she smells money.
Watch, three generations from now her great great grandchild will be blaming Imus for something.
lordfussy at 8:08AM on Aug 16th 2007
15. Imus got away with getting paid $120 m for suing the stations who fired him for his own stupidity...
I'd vote that jury for $10 million per woman on Rutger's team.
