1. America's attitude on Karl Rove is "What's done is done." I think that's bull crap! If you could manipulate the emotions of the electorate with fear and uncertainty and then spy domestically that doesn't make one a genius. That makes one a traitor. Our politics turned ugly when two families treated the process like the Mafia. They twisted arms in smoke-filled rooms and demanded loyalty to defend the indefensible. Clinton dropped his pants in the White House and that makes him ineligible. We can forgive him, but electing his wife lowers this nation. President Bush dropped our pants in the eyes of the world. That makes him ineligible, but he's not running. We can do better than two families, but it's hard to beat them when they work together or take turns ripping us off. Karl Rove is helping Hillary with his attacks. She wants to be the "Victim in Chief". Does China care about her weakness? You bet they do. Why do you think they are sending us their crap? Did Clinton send them our crap? Did anyone look into the "Tainted Blood Scandal" hidden by the Sex Scandal? This could be a "Tit for Tat?" Hillary can't stand up to them. Bush and Rove just looked away. Someone is going to have to deal with the Clinton reality.

2. Does his resignation place him outside Bush executive privilege ? Will congress now subpoena Rove about e-mail, Cia outing & Gonzales
jim at 6:16PM on Aug 20th 2007
3. Moyers absolutely nailed it. Rove and his posse used fear in 2002 (in the aftermath of 9/11) to increase their GOP majorities in Congress and again in 2004 (they again used fear of terrorism and this time fear of gays) to re-elect Bush.
However, that "play to the base" strategy failed them last November, when the GOP lost control of congress.
Reasonable saw through the hypocrisy of scandals and yet another round of bringing up a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage in Congress (it failed every time it came to a vote).
Rove simply used the religious right - and Bush went right along with him. One would think members of these hard line groups would be insulted - on the contrary, they praise Rove and Bush.
Go figure.

4. #2 David.. "We're not going to stand by and allow
another one million African American votes to go
uncounted in this election." --John Kerry, speech to Congressional Black Caucus, Sept.11,2004.
"If we do the work that we can do in this country, the work that we will do when John Kerry is president, people like Christopher Reeve are going to walk, get up out of that wheelchair and walk
again." --John Edwards, Newton, Iowa rally.
Are those some examples of "fear" that you're referring to?

5. No Lizard #4 - those are promises of inclusion.
The Republicans make promises of exclusion - see the difference?

6. Isn't enough that we have to endure Moyers'liberal pap everytime we turn on PBS? Now he's being fed to me on my web service! Is there no escape from these moronic evil lefties who control the dominant media?

7. Thank you Mr. Moyers!
KR during a time of war, during a time of one of our nations greatest horrors, continually with malice and full knowledge did commit crimes against our nation and our people. During a period when we as a people should stand so UNITED as to be bonded together KR wrote and provided vitriol of fear and hate to further his agenda in polarizing us, split, divide and concur to achieve his goal of permanent Republican rule over OUR government.
This man's hands are not only dirty, but bloody with the 'collateral damages' of the war he aided in selling to the American public and the global western communities.
He is described as brilliant, highly intelligent and a master of political strategie.Rove is in fact a danger to these still UNITED States and should be recognized for using his position in the closest we've come to fascist regime. Why then is his son in Texas at college and not with our true patriots in IRAQ???

8. Anyone who calls Rove a genius for hitching his wagon to a semi-literate bleep-up and loser like George Bush, who will be seen as the worst President in this country's history SHOULD have their head examined.
Charles Almon at 9:02PM on Aug 20th 2007
9. I think Rove's favorite musical must be MY FAIR LADY. He saw Bush as his Eliza Dolittle. And he was going to mold this river mud into a Michelangelo marble. But in the end, Bush is still rivermud. I only wish he Didlittle.

10. #7 Steve. See # 4. Ya gotta love hearing Edwards
talking about a divided "two separate Americas," when he lives in a house as big as a hotel. And what about Al Gore's constant rants on "global warming," when he has a monthly utility bill bigger than most people's mortgage payment? Oh, I forgot, he buys"carbon credits" to make you libs feel good about his hypocrisy. And if you want to talk about lack of military service, I'd be careful about opening up that can of worms...
Lizard944 at 9:17PM on Aug 20th 2007
11. Lizard, the military service you are referring to: Do you mean the FIVE (5) deferments that Dickhead Cheney got to avoid serving his country during Vietnam? Yet, I'm sure you see him as a greater war vet than Kerry or John McCain, men who had the courage to actualy go and fight in the war. And King George -- why didn't he go to Vietnam? He could have, but he didn't have the courage his father had. Don't you love our two great Republican "war" leaders? And by the way, I hope you saw the video of Cheney from 1994 citing the reasons not to invade Iraq -- too made he didn't follow his own advice.
brian at 9:53PM on Aug 20th 2007
12. #11 Brian. Dear dumb dumb. Things can change over the course of eight years, and yes, 1994 was too early to invade Iraq as Bill Clintoon was still busy asking Saddam "can't we all just get along?"
Oh and I think we've all established Kerry's four month long tour of Vietnam to be laughable at best.
Bush was a trained fighter pilot. I was an NCOIC of Aeromedical Services, Flight Surgeon's Office, and I know the rigors it takes to become a fighter pilot. It's not like Bush said; "hey gimme the keys to a jet, I want to fly." It takes thousands of hours of instruction/sorties to become pilot in high performance aircraft, unlike Kerry's pontoon boat "Excellent Adventures," to become a self-described war hero.

13. I once went out with a liberal woman; she felt really good about herself and proudly told me how open-minded, liberal and tolerant she was... But as I apologetically confessed to her that I was a Republican, I could see her face turning red, and as I told her I was pro-life- redder still! And just when she was about to blow her top, I offered her the possibility that maybe I was born Republican and just can't change who I am? I think that to truly be open-minded and liberal, one would not hate or turn colors in rage just because someone doesn't share your point of view. Much of what I read here about Republicans is far more hateful than anything Don Imus or Rush Limbaugh have to say!
Mike at 11:32PM on Aug 20th 2007
14. #5 David. More like promises of "illusion." I, for one, would be offended by those remarks of Kerry or Edwards, whether I was Republican or Democrat. But that's the dichotomy between liberals and conservatives. You libs eat that 'touchy-feely' crap up by the shovel full, but if Bush started saying whacked-out things like that, we'd have the guts to say that's unacceptable.
Lizard944 at 1:30AM on Aug 21st 2007
15. Dear Dumb Dumb Lizard, education helps. Cheney's interview was in 1994 and he was commenting on reasons why BUSH SR. did not invade Iraq. (Clinton wasn't president back then, just for a little history lesson to help you out. He came in after the first Gulf war and therefore had nothing to do with that, which many grade-schoolers know). As for Shrub, are you telling me Bush couldn't have volunteered for Vietnam? Thousands did volunteer, including fighter pilots, but our "war" president didn't have the courage his father did.
