Come on, John McCain. How desperate do you have to be to pretend you're a different religion than the one you actually are? Did you think they wouldn't catch you on it?
In the video below we explain how John McCain pretended to be Baptist while campaigning in South Carolina when he is in fact Episcopalian -- and how he got caught and what his reaction was afterward:
John McCain sold his (political) soul to the devil a long time ago, so ironically, it might not matter what denomination he is when it comes time for that matter. By the way, how absurd are religions -- do you think God is really going to say, "No, I'm sorry you're Episcopalian, the correct answer was Baptist. You will now spend eternity in hell for that error. Tough break. Better luck next time."

16. Although I'm not a GOP supporter or big fan of John McCain, I'm embarrassed by fellow liberals who think that religious people are all nuts. Since when does one have to be a card carrying sarcastic Atheist to subscribe to liberal ideology? No offense to respectful Atheists out there but I'm sick of the left bashing anyone who thinks there is something greater than themselves who orchestrated this whole universe.

17. "religion shouldn't matter in a presidential race---what you will do for the country is the #1 qualifier, or should be at least."
True. Personally, I don't care if a pedosexual is in the White House as long as he or she straightens out the mess with health care, gets us out of Iraq, start pushing seriously high taxes on the super-wealthy while lowering the ones on middle-class people and lower people, and start pushing for laws to be taken off the books that are discriminatory against people (drug laws, etc.).

18. I'm more concerned about John's working relationship with Feingold and the swimmer (Ted Kenedy) than in which way he wants people to think he worships. I might be interested in voting for McCain if he was less concerned with camera time and with what the antique media tells him is public consensus (As if they knew anything about americans).
IRONBLUEEYES: Actually, Hillary was jewish earlier this year. I believe it was the week before she was black. ("ah ehnt taaaard no way")

19. Whatever denomination he claims to be, I believe McCain is Christian. And the current mood of Christians seems to be, "kill them all and let God sort it out". Pretty barbaric for a group that claims to be so compassionate and caring.

21. #5 dear Mato:) I think you just proved the younk turks point. So, why lie about wich branch of christianity you belong too. Furtheremore, I hope and pray that G*d is not as narrow minded to actuall say that if you "do not believe in Jesus being his son" you reject him??? Maybe, some people feel that way, sad very sad, very scary!!!
Anyway, the point here is the McCain lied about being a Baptist. For what??? Political gain??? That is very sad!!!
