Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad visited Columbia University today, provoking hundreds of protesters who denounce the leader's human rights record and anti-Israeli comments. Columbia University President Lee Bollinger defended his decision to allow Ahmadinejad to speak - as did Columbia Dean John Coatsworth who, when hypothetically asked, said that Adolf Hitler would have been invited to a similar forum in 1939.
So what questions would Columbia students have for Hitler?

4. Columbia fired at least one professor (Harry Dana) for being a member of a pacifist organization during World War I. They have no free speech credential. If Hitler had been allowed to speak there in the 1930's, it would not have been as an act of courage, but because his views were not nearly as politically incorrect then as they are now.

5. I agree with Daniel.. Why Hitler is seen as so evil and not Bush. In all matter of facts Bush and US military invade other countries just for their resources. We do not want to send our military or combat to Sudan for humanitarian needs, as they do NOT have any OIL,gold or Diamonds. Whereas Iraq and Iran has oil so they are evil for us though they are not related to 9/11 in any way. Hitler's major mistake was that he lost focus on his aim of industrialization and equality for germans which was dominated by jews in many case it was inhuman. If he would have just sticked to equality and industrialization he would have been remembered as great leader of world. It is cruelty to kill another human being for whatever reasons it may be, but our military and even blackwater is killing inncocent civilians in Iraq.

I hope that the students had an opportunity to hear about the horrific crimes against humanity Israel has been committing and the violation of human rights America is committing against Arabs, Palestinians and Muslims in the middle east. 11. Mahmoud is evil, but I agree with the previous blogger that he had the guts to speak before such an audience. I, for one, believe he is one of the hostage takers in 1979. That makes him totally evil, but he would not be standing in front of students at Columbia if that ninny Jimmy Carter had had the courage to bomb Iran for that flagrant act of war: the seizure of sovereign territory, an embassy. That really WAS an act of war. Carter was a coward; we would not have Mahmoud today if the President had acted decisively in November of 1979.

13. Ahmedinjad, is an idiot. Does he realize that there is currently a mini-series in Iran about how Irans saved a number of Jews during the Holocaust? He even does not know how the Mullahs are using the show to justify its support for Palestinians (i.e. Germans murdered Jews. The Palestinians did nothing to the Jews. If you want to help the Jews from the Holocaust, given them a piece of Germany instead of Palestine.)
As for Hitler, just a few questions?
Since you are neither, Blond, Blue-eyed, nor really German, what makes you think you can run Germany?
Wouldn't make much more sense to use the talents of your Jewish citizens instead of sending them to concentration camps?
