This guy is unbelievable. From listening to the clips below, you get the clear impression that Bill O'Reilly has never hung out with a black person in his whole life. He keeps getting surprised that they are just like everyone else. Who knew?!
Listen to these gems from his radio show where Bill O'Reilly explains black people to white America:
As usual, Media Matters broke this story. Click here for even more details -- it turns out African-Americans don't randomly yell "motherf---er" when ordering their food, either. The surprises never end when you're hanging out with Bill O'Reilly. He's like our generation's Mister Rogers for racists.
Remember the average age of Bill O'Reilly's television audience is 71 years old (the radio show audience might be even older). So, he is basically doing his show at a senior citizen's center for people who grew up during segregation. That's why the fact that black people and white people are the same might come as news to his audience. Maybe he is doing them a service.
We also have to thank Al Sharpton for introducing Bill O'Reilly to black people for the first time in his life. What a hilarious odd couple. I love the idea of Al Sharpton being Bill O'Reilly's first black friend. Bill, there is so much more he can teach you. But this will come as news to you, too -- Sharpton does not necessarily represent the average black man. And did you know they're not all the same? I know, it's so hard to keep up with this crazy, new America where all the races mix. Give it time, you'll get the hang of it.

48. Sure doesn't SOUND like Bill O'Reilly's voice.
He being set up?

49. Yeah. Who are the Young Turks anyway? Why are they being listened to? Why should I care?
I think my dog's genitals could come up with a more sophisticated political blog than the crap you guys produce. Seriously... all you do is watch Fox News and then report on why you hate them so much. Plus, Bill O'Reilly is a commentator. He's supposed to state his opinion and that's his job... whether you like it or not. Get over it. Watch Keith Olbermann instead.
There's thing called analysis that exists. It's pretty cool. If you need a good example of news analysis, look at the blog Donklephant. You could try it out.

50. To Karen I must say that Mexicans don't riot in Miami. Miami's population is mainly Cuban, with other Central and South Americans, but not
Mexican. Being a foreigner myself I am always amazed at the division in the US.... along party lines, races, places of origin, ethnic or socioeconomic background, etc. The division always begins with Americans' opinions. In other countries you are Nicaraguan, or French, or Cuban, not "Afro-Cubans or Afro-French". Besides, for the most part, the so called "blacks" have enough "white" blood to be white. Or is it that Blacks are SO DOMINANT that a slight shade of brown with blue eyes qualifies as Black? I say ENOUGH ALREADY!!! The more we talk about it the worse it gets.

51. Karen, I'm only doing this because you were such a stickler on the spelling and grammar thing. As it turns out "illigal" is actually spelled "illegal". That's I-L-L-E-G-A-L. Oh yeah, and "meanial" is actually spelled "menial". Thats M-E-N-I-A-L. If you're going to be so picky and, excuse the attitude, such a prick about spelling and grammar then at least review your own writing before doing so.

53. Ginger--There is a difference between education and schooling. You can go to a substandard institution and still get an "education."
In my experience, it is the person of ignorance who fails to be successful or to move up. As a woman in a predominantly male industry, I'm constantly met with gender bias. It is MY responsibility to learn the various types of information necessary, find the tools I need and somehow come up with the resources needed to achieve MY goals. THAT is education.
I'm sorry you run into obstacles and peoples pre-conceived ideas...life is not fair and people are stupid.

54. Air America is a failure; kept partially afloat by a few left wing wacko rich white guys. This hack job on OReily was absolutely taken out of the context of his whole body of work. He is not a racist, and those who say he is are liars. The politics of smear, and left wing hate don't fly in America. Thats why Air America never got off the ground.

55. Hey Tyrone Stott,
If you consider yourself a citizen of "this" country why do you call yourself an "African"!

56. I am 57, taught in the public school and college for 30 years. I believe what Mr. O' Reilly may be trying to say is: "I am surprised that there is another culture in the black population because all you hear about is RAP, drugs, killings, etc. by popular blacks." The media doesn't cover the other side of a black's life. All they do is cover the bad and if that is all that you are exposed to then that is all you know. The media scares people into believing all is bad in the black community and sometimes I believe The Reverend Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are instigators. My best friend for 20 years is black and she doesn't see things the way they do either. She is college educated, like me, and we see from society what is going on. Mr. O'Reilly is not exactly wrong. 57. It's sad that a few apparantly well intended comments by Mr. O'reilly could degenerate into a hate frenzy war of insults between two opposing groups of equally wrong adults who should know better. It's more sad that supposed trusted news media (i.e.TURK) would knowingly instigate the insult barage for the sheer joy of watching it unfold. Political correctness has advanced to the point that tolerance is no longer acceptable.
People are different, accept it, it's actually good. Highlight the good side of different. There are good ... and bad people of all races and colors. Stop looking for bad in everything everyone says.
THe term "Racist" has become a convenient and too frequently used tool to discredit anyone with an opposing view and incite minorities in opposition.
I think it is time to give it a rest before the original racist victims become the new racists.

59. Average Age 71! Ha, you know nothing, my daughter's friends all enjoy him and they are 16, oh and their mothers do too, and we are all nowhere near 71!
Take a hike, Bill is fair, and a good man. He could debate your ignorant position allday
Barb at 6:00PM on Sep 25th 2007
60. O'Reileys problem is that he thinks he understands everything, eating with Sharpton is no qualification to judge a whole race of people ...yep there are Black people in America that have no idea what Rock cocaine looks like ....
