This guy is unbelievable. From listening to the clips below, you get the clear impression that Bill O'Reilly has never hung out with a black person in his whole life. He keeps getting surprised that they are just like everyone else. Who knew?!
Listen to these gems from his radio show where Bill O'Reilly explains black people to white America:
As usual, Media Matters broke this story. Click here for even more details -- it turns out African-Americans don't randomly yell "motherf---er" when ordering their food, either. The surprises never end when you're hanging out with Bill O'Reilly. He's like our generation's Mister Rogers for racists.
Remember the average age of Bill O'Reilly's television audience is 71 years old (the radio show audience might be even older). So, he is basically doing his show at a senior citizen's center for people who grew up during segregation. That's why the fact that black people and white people are the same might come as news to his audience. Maybe he is doing them a service.
We also have to thank Al Sharpton for introducing Bill O'Reilly to black people for the first time in his life. What a hilarious odd couple. I love the idea of Al Sharpton being Bill O'Reilly's first black friend. Bill, there is so much more he can teach you. But this will come as news to you, too -- Sharpton does not necessarily represent the average black man. And did you know they're not all the same? I know, it's so hard to keep up with this crazy, new America where all the races mix. Give it time, you'll get the hang of it.

62. Mel, Manny, Jeff and others, I'm sure, have made similar poignant comments regarding this video. Kudos to you.
To other sentient people who heard the clip, O'Reilly was simply exposing the race-baiting that Leftists like Sharpton routinely engage in, by noting that although Blacks still face racism, the proper response is to get on with life instead of obsessing over minor differences. While Sharpton and Jackson want Blacks to think that life has not improved since the 1950's, more Blacks are "thinking for themselves." That's a good sign. Blacks and Whites should be happy to hear that news.
It's always funny to see Leftists stretching to make Conservatives seem like racists, as if the Left is the friend of minorities. What have Liberals done to improve Black schools? What have they done to promote marriage in the Black community and strengthen Black families? What have they done to promote Black self-sufficiency? If you want a perfect example of what Liberals do to Black people, just visit any American city. You'll find Blacks underperforming and Liberals running the government. Coincidence? I think not.

63. I, too, have listened to O'Reilly when driving on occasion. His cant does have a racist, classist, sexist, sectarian slant.
Perhaps Reverend Sharpton taught him something valuable. I hope it will stick with him.

64. wow, you dumb writers are like an old college friend of mine, who, to show me how friendly he was with black people kept a bunch of wallet sized pix in his person of his black friends...

65. It is hard to generalize about any group. The biggest problem is lack of communication and misunderstandings between groups.

66. It is sicking to see comments like those made by Lou Bon. Its also replusive to suggest that this is an astonishing revelation that blacks are just as concerned about certain issues as whites, or that we respect each other less. I think that this country needs a dose of self reflection. This is amazing story and I think that we have come a long way as a society but have even further to go.

67. Bill O'Reilly is right on. I have news for you.....the average listener is not 71 yrs. of age but much much younger. How ignorant to even assume that nonsense. I am always amazed at how far libs will go to trash someone. I thought they were supposed to love everyone. As far as I can see, they HATE everyone that doesn't agree with them.
Jac at 6:30PM on Sep 25th 2007
68. Lou Bon you just prove how ignorant some white americans can be!

69. I keep wondering what all these white rednecks are going to do in about 50 years when whites are no longer the majority in this country?

Cenk - Thank God I've never heard you before. You sensationalize the most trivial of issues which makes you sound like an idiot. Do everyone a service - go into another line of business.
4th generation American at 7:16PM on Sep 25th 2007
71. Actually the 71 age is from MSNBC research, Fox says it's 65 plus, Cenk. MSNBC has a bit of a vested interest in making his audience older then Olbermann's at 59, don't ya think?? I have no problem with the way you blog, who cares? (Plus you're great when the subject is entertainment) But why be such a hypocrit about how O'Reilly bloviates and uses half truths while you're doing the EXACT same thing? Is it worth the money you make?
Mel at 7:06PM on Sep 25th 2007
72.
To the person (LOU BON) that posted this comment:
"black people cannot stand the truth, they have NEVER invented anything other then aids. they have made no contribution to society."
Now there is a perfect example of racial ignorance!
That idiot only needs to do a simple web search
to see a truly amazing list of black inventors. (assuming his brain will function enough to handle such a simple task) Now, what did YOU invent LOU???

73. Ebony & Ivory side by side on our piano O'lord why don't we.
Black people are just as racist as White people. Take a good look at Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. They are terrible. If Martin Luther King Jr. had lived he would have nothing to do with either one of them. Especially Jesse Jackson who stood by him on the ill fated day.
Martin Luther King Jr. I had a Dream. He wanted Equality for all. Not just one Race.
Jesus Christ a Jewish man. Believe and love everyone.
People need to get a life and look to God.

74. Black people are just like white people, for the most part. One of my best friends, if not my best friend, when I was growing up was a black boy named Andre who lived across the street from the middle-class trailer park where I still live with my parents to this date.
I haven't seen him in a long time (since I was 16) but he still ranks as one of my best friends, out of the many friends I have had over the years.

75. # 57, Marty. Regarding your comments on Katrina and how you perceive the reactions of black people..keep in mind that the media did seem to focus on the bad behavior of some people (looting, etc), and unfortunately it gave fodder to the racists in this country to condemn a whole group. As for O'Reilly, I can't wait to hear what he says about this tonight...and I'm well under 71.
