In that last video they referred to Shwe's ritzy wedding clip on youtube that can be viewed here.
This second video is a documentary about the Burmese struggle for Democracy. John Pilger went undercover into Burma 11 years ago and produced this documentary.
'Inside Burma: Land of Fear' was first broadcast in May 1996. It was written and presented by John Pilger and produced and directed by David Munro.
The film detailed the many injustices and human rights abuses that have so badly marked the country's past and present.
Amnesty International has described Burma as a 'prison without bars' of a country which has a beauty and resources probably unequalled in Asia.

2. lizard, how the hell did you deduce that statement? why is it AOL has all the idiot posters?
dave at 7:34PM on Sep 29th 2007
3. I don't see where the author states that this is a bad thing. I am sure Hoard supports the democractic uprising from the Burmese Citizens.
I think you are a troll Lizard, trying to stir negative feelings and trying to avoid civil debates from happening within these forums. Your comment history on AOL is purely negative and I for one hope you find a new hobby.
LongLiveTheWest at 7:40PM on Sep 29th 2007
4. #2 Dave. The paradox that you fail to comprehend is that Hoard is rabidly against the liberation of the Iraqi people who wished to be able to establish their own democracy, in which 75% of their population showed up to vote for in the elections.
#3Longlive "...trying to stir negative feelings and trying to avoid civil debates from happening on these forums."
Geez, now you've put me on an ego trip! What are you going to blame me for next..bad weather?
So, I'm able to bring these blogs to a screeching halt by exposing the hypocrisy of the author?
Oh the power! If you're referring to my "negative" history of defending democracy and being a Bush supporter, then I plead guilty as charged.

5. lizard is correct,
he believes america is in iraq to "liberate them",
hows that working out for ya lizard?
you know lizard..
maybe america should take out every despotic, fascist, tyrannical leader of the world and impose a democracy.
oh wait..
america helped put into power many of these despotic, fascist, tyrannical leaders.
its just good global business.
democracies tend to make trade deals for huge corporations i bit..sticky.
oh man..
bet that made some countries population angry.
maybe they would ..
i dont know..
protest america,maybe burn some flags.
maybe chant things like "death to america",
maybe even try to attack america itself.
christ lizard..
read a book sometime,
your lack of historical knowledge is embarrassing,
and your rhetoric shows an utter lack of imagination.
till next time..peace.

6. I was actually quite amzed at the sight of Monks demonstrating in Myanmar, they are usually kept busy by governments, let's say, by trying to ethnically cleanse them. I was grateful to see such a rare occurance!
Then they cut the internet, all journalists and camerapersons. If that wasn't enough, they point blank shoot dead a Japanese journalist on his balcony. The government said " It was a mistake ", uh huh.
This entire world has gone mad. Iraq, Afghanistan and most likely, if Bush/Cheney/Condi, the three GOP stooges, have their way, IRAN. They have already strategically planned 2000 sites to nuke.
This Lizard thing, has followed me about from blog to blog and has harrassed me, he should be labeled a consistant violater, Jeff.

7. #5 Well here he is--as if on cue--the all knowing,
I-can-come-up-with-an-argument-for-any-conservative-comment, Enoch D.D.S. With your half-baked argument in mind, are we to assume that the rest of the world SHOULD live under oppression and tyrrany
so that it would eliminate the "trade deals" for our big, bad corporations? Just how much money do you think "corporations" and George Bush needs?
Last time I checked, the corporations provide millions of good jobs in this country, but I can see where that would be abhorrent to you, since you'd rather have the government control your life.
And now for the ad hominems: You call my posts "unimaginative," yet you could pretty much "rubber stamp" all of your posts.
Also, when are you going to drop the ridiculous
Haiku style, which wastes perfectly good blog space? Or is that some kind of defense mechanism which is supposed to make you look bigger than life?

8. Good direction, this blog serves a better purpose than most of your other ones. The situation in Burma is a serious one.0 although I don't think it's as serious as the one in North Korea. In North Korea and person that is even caught thinking bad things about Kim Jung-il or the government is either executed or sent to a reeducation/ slave labor Gulag.
Anyways ... There is very little literature out there about the history of Burma. Or Myanmar, which is pronounced (Me-An-Mar). Here is a video link about the the Allied campaign there during World War II: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRWJ2TA_S9I
Here is a famous book George Orwell wrote about the country: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burmese_Days

9. #7 Rhodalee. You are beyond reproach. Let the record reflect that I have TWO posts on this thread (including the opening post) before you showed up, yet you claim that I'm "following" you? HAHAHAHA
I see how this works; you call people "liars" "idiots", and write 10,000 word essays on how "stupid" Republicans are, then when some posters (self included) question your "Vietnam female war hero" story, and uncover that you posted your age on another blog which would've made you 16y/o when you were allegedly in Vietnam, aka; a lie, now you want to curl up into a fetal position and tell the "teacher" that people are "harrassing you." LMAO
It's simple; don't lie and call others inflammatory names, and nobody gets hurt. Otherwise, maybe you should hang out in the Beanie Baby chatroom, where I hear that things may be a little less confrontational.

14. #10 I only have one word for you..which is really going to suck: ARCHIVES. Any "intentional erroneous" information that has been provided has been by YOU. Let's start with the "Olberman to Bush" heading. Not our fault that you can't do simple arithmetic when your caught in your lies.
Grow up.
Lizard at 2:26AM on Sep 30th 2007
15. Oh reptile, grow up and try to behave in an adult manner. ARCHIVES/ so many on you, starting with the fact that you do not understand S-Corporation tax revenues. Instead you act the twit and harrass me consistantly. SSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
You are now officially a VIOLATER! This blog is proof enough of the dislike many have for your disturbed and deranged behavior.
